Thank you for the amazing video~ It's the middle of summer and I decided to crochet a beanie as a gift for a friend who's moving to a colder country at the end of this week it was my first time making a beanie/hat, but it turned out great with your wonderful instructions Thsnks again
Thanks so much… couldn’t find this pattern through the link, and so so so many pop up ads I couldn’t navigate through. Appreciate what you’re gifting to the world in spite of that.
This has been a challenge for me, only the brim … I have redone it so many times I’ve lost count . I switched to the single then the 1/2 double only to go back and tackle the slip stitch one more time . I am that determined and I just about got it right ! Thank you for this wonderful tutorial and sharing this beautiful beanie ! 💕💕
I won’t say it’s a complete waste of time because I learned valuable lessons during my attempt. I did not use two strands which is probably the only reason I was able to recoup my yarn. I did measure the band to the suggested 19” and made it round 20 and that’s when I decided to cal it quits. My decreases left very large gaps with tiny beans between. I tried, tried and tried again, but kept getting the same results. Hats off to the many who were successful!
Just made this. Thanks for the great tutorial! I loved the options for the brim. I cannot for the life of me get the slip stitch to work for me so I went with the single crochet. It turned out a little loose but better than too tight. I hope my step mom likes it as much as I do!
Try changing hook size. If my hook is too small for the yarn it doesn't go smoothly. You can go back to the recommended size once passed the brim. It might require fewer rows for the brim though so keep that in mind.
You have to be a genius, I have tried to follow a few knitting patterns, impossible, because I'm a crocheter and this pattern is for me. Easy to follow. Thank you for doing the work of figuring it out for us.
OMG! You have Sooooo many cute patterns- I can’t wait to start in on some (I was told by my 5 year old granddaughter)I can’t start a new project until I finish the blanket I am working on for her Daddy) 🧶😂 lol 😂 thank you again for having wonderful tutorials 🧶🧶🧶
I really enjoyed making this beanie! It turned out exactly as yours with the same measurements! I did change things up a little because of the yarn I used though. I used a 3mm for the brim and continued with the 3mm for the row of 90 hdc, then switched to a 5mm for the beans. I also crocheted 9 stitches for the brim and slip stitched instead of 7 being I dropped the hook size down. The gauge was a little confusing because with my yarn (medium weight) I would've needed a 6.5mm but the sl sts looked terrible with such a large hook. Will definitely make more because it looks so elegant and looks like it's knitted! Thank you for such an amazing pattern
I am sooooo glad that I found your channel! The way you teach is amazing! You explain clearly and because of you I can finally make hats! I I have sick and Crocheting is my therapy! can’t stop making them…it’s so much Fun. Thank youuuuu ❤️
Such a cute hat. I subscribe, because I really like the nice calm way you teach. Your instructions are clear, and I am looking forward to trying some of these hats.❤
I've been crocheting for years and still struggle with making hats. This looks simple enough I think I'll give it a try. Never done the bean stitch before. Your hands look just like my Aunts who inspired me to learn crochet in my early 20's.
Thank you so much. Your instructions are wonderfully easy to follow. You have a very pleasant voice as well. I’m so excited to try many of your beautiful patterns.
Ms Sarah: I absolutely like this pattern. You describe each step so well. You make it look sooo easy. I will use this pattern in different colors and gift them to cancer patients. Thanks and God's blessings on YOU!!! r step
Recently found your patterns and they are all fab, just bought this one as a friend has asked me to make it and even though you give them for free I wanted to show support by purchasing this one. Thank you for making fab patterns and tutorials !
At first glance, I thought it a knitted beanie. I was surprised to see it was crochet! The stitches and ribbing look awesome. I knit and crochet so I’ll be trying this out. Thanks for the inspiration😊
Thank you so much am new to the channel of crochet patterns on you tube and am enjoying your patterns so much. You explain so it is easy to follow. Many blessings. Louella from South Africa.
Love this hat!!! Your presentation skills are top notch and very easy to understand. I'm always looking for new hat variations and never thought of the bean stitch! Duh here.
You have the best voice for these videos. I have heard a lot of them your really great at teaching how too. How can i fined the Written pattern sometimes it’s easy for me to do both watch the video and also look at the pattern especially if I’m not around a video I looked where you said but I don’t see the written pattern thank you 💕
I like the pattern, even though my yarn or my head (or maybe both ;)) ) was different, so I only had to make 10 rows and then I started the decreasing rows. I untied several times until I got this satisfactory result, but it turned out beautiful. Thanks!
Thanks for mentioning the alternative stitches for the brim, I’m not a slip stitch fan. Another great hat!! I really like this stitch, I think it will look good in variegated yarn which I love.
I love all your tutorials, they are very well explained. I have one gripe though, it’s hard to see what you’re doing when you’re not in the picture. Maybe adjust your camera position? 🥰❤️
Did anyone else's come out ridiculously large? Mine could have been a chef hat lol...the stitch is so beautiful though. Will give it another try with some adjustments.
Just came across your channel the other day, and I’ve already finished two of these hats. They work up beautifully. I am making a few more for Christmas presents. Great video!
Just finished making this! I had a thinner yarn so I adjusted the stich counts/rows to match but otherwise followed along and it turned out so cute! Thank you for the detailed video. :)
@@fiskeygrl I've been doing this nearly 20 years now so I am wild, reckless and mad with hubris --- I did the thing you aren't supposed to do and just eyeballed some quick calculations. lol Don't be me, it's only years of messing up that allows me this nonsense. Swatches are your friend. The gauge is listed in the description, and working up a swatch is a great way to size things out if you're unsure of a gauge. Just work the number of stitches listed and compare your numbers then adjust until they match and stich accordingly. There are some great videos about making swatches and how to use them on here if you're a visual learner. Hope this helps a little!
Hi.. I really love your work and the way you explain the stitches. I'm planning to make this hat for my son. In this video you have mentioned the brim to be about 19 inches. What if it has to be bigger or smaller. Will the bean stitch count of 45 change. Will it affect the work?? Please clarify this doubt.
Hello yes it will! To adjust, just make sure that you have an even multiple of stitches when you work the half double crochet stitches around the brim. Work to the desired height and then start the decrease
i got confused towards the end with the decreasing stitches when you said SKIP a stitch. I might not have been paying attention but did you turn the hat every time you got to the last stitch of a row? I am a novice and I can say that for the great part of this pattern i understand what you are doing. I think I am going to make me one using malabrigo yarn. the hat/stitch is really nice. 🙂
When you say “turn your work” does that mean turn it inside out? Sorry if this is super obvious but I am a very beginner and I couldn’t see on the video because it went out of the shot. Thanks! I love the look of this pattern.
“Turn your work” means that in order to begin your new row, you must go back the way you came from. Keep watching video for each new row made by tutor. Also slow down the video to see her technique better. Also mark the first stitch by attaching an old earring or a different color yarn so you recognize where you began. Hope this helps.
Thank you so much for your reply! I kept watching and I think I have it figured out. When you turn your work then you are working on the inside of the hat on opposite sides. This hat looks huge though! 😬😂
I really love trying to watch your tutorials but u go to fast for me and I'm a beginner and I'm not use to all different types of stiches yet going to change speed on my phone hopefully that helps me .there beautiful
Its so cold and i have lost my favourite woolen cap. Had been looking for an easy tutorial for a beanie as i am beginner in crochet. Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial with a professional looking stretchy band, hope it fits me. I love the beanie and would dive in to make myself one. Is this for adult size?
I made the brim to 19 inches (single crochet stitch) and joined it. When I started the half double stitch to build the hat. My halfway point is 35 and not 45. I used a 5.0 size hook with a medium weight yarn (4). What did i do wrong??
Thank you. Finally, instructions I could follow easily. I’ve made 3 hats in 2 days with this pattern! ❤
Thank you for the amazing video~

Slip stitch is easy... I also had difficulty with it... try more tutorials and u ll know it... it's worth it.. because it is more warm...
Try changing hook size. If my hook is too small for the yarn it doesn't go smoothly. You can go back to the recommended size once passed the brim. It might require fewer rows for the brim though so keep that in mind.
This is like an ASMR video for yarnies. :) Your voice and those yarn and hook sounds are delightful.
I love this stitch! This beanie looks so professionally made! I can’t wait to make one for myself!!!
This is a lovely hat. Thank you so much. My mom's name was Elizabeth, so doing this hat made it extra special.

I used the same yarn, same hook, did exactly how you did yours and it also came out enormous. So I modified the stitches and it came out beautiful
How did you adjust the stiches? Mine comes out too big too
I'm having the same problem. Pls help
I would suggest 70 stitches added after the brim, or multiple of 2. I was watching it and 90 stitiches sounded too big.
Mine turned out huge. Total waste of time!

Hats are the easiest item there is to crochet.
Fab hat! I take it you can make it any size as long as the stitch count is even.
Thank you so much. Your instructions are wonderfully easy to follow. You have a very pleasant voice as well. I’m so excited to try many of your beautiful patterns.
Very nice pattern. I like the bean stitch, it moves quite quickly. Thank you for sharing your talent. 🧶🧶🧶
This is my favorite stitch to make my brims and also scarves. Thank you ☺️
Just finished this and as always, easy to understand and work up. Always a success and beautiful outcome. Thanks so much!!

Hi Elizabet
Nice , easy and comfortable hat

This is an awesome stitch pattern. Beautiful hat ! Thank you for sharing!
I do like your channel. I love textures also.
Thanks for mentioning the alternative stitches for the brim, I’m not a slip stitch fan. Another great hat!! I really like this stitch, I think it will look good in variegated yarn which I love.
You’re welcome! You’re right - the slip stitch brim is not everyone’s preference :) I think it will be pretty in a variegated yarn too!
I love all your tutorials, they are very well explained. I have one gripe though, it’s hard to see what you’re doing when you’re not in the picture. Maybe adjust your camera position? 🥰❤️
Love your work and tutorials. Some are hard for me. ❤
Hi I’m new here love you video, such a beautiful texture, Ive never seen it done this way before, I will subscribe to your channel

Did anyone else's come out ridiculously large? Mine could have been a chef hat lol...the stitch is so beautiful though. Will give it another try with some adjustments.
Yes I noticed at round 12 and started over but I also use a bigger yarn
Mine did. I use red heart supersaver and a 5mm hook. Maybe I should drop a hook size and give it a try again.
Mine too lol, but I managed to reduce it.
@@estherh.e.867 How did you reduce it?
Yes rediculously large. Try "Yarn and Chai" pattern 👍
Just came across your channel the other day, and I’ve already finished two of these hats. They work up beautifully. I am making a few more for Christmas presents. Great video!
Thank you for this video! I'm making one for my best friend:)

I absolutely love this hat! Thank you!
You’re very welcome :)
My favorite sitch for s beanie

Is there a kids/toddler version of this hat? I’d like to make my daughter and I matching ones
it’ll be easy to make it smaller. measure their head and make the ribbing to that size as long as it’s still an even number of rows
what a great tutorial! thank you so much!! ❤️
Very nice work thanks for this God bless you
You’re welcome!
Thank you so much, your beautiful hat i think i can do it.thanhs.

my yarn is thicker so i just used the instructions, not the pattern. it looks so beautiful
Lovely little hat! Did you sew the snap on the pompom yourself, or did you purchase it with the snap already on?
Approximately how tall should the hat be after the 19th row before the decreasing part
I’m on row 16 of the body and I’ve and have us3d 254 yards already..way more Thant you used totally😳
