This is so fascinating! Please thank your vet for his willingness to be on camera and explain all of this. I think it is so good for people who aren’t super familiar with animal husbandry to learn about these things. Gives us a better appreciation for responsible breeders.
I agree 100%. I love horses, but since finding Katie I've learned ssooo much I never knew and mad respect for her and her family in what they do. You can tell all their animals are treated as family members not just cash makers. ❤
If someone came up to me while I was working and asked to film me for a UA-cam video, I'd probably say no just because a lot of youtubers would take that as an opportunity to sensationalized everything and get in the way of work. I'm glad that isn't the case here. It's just two professionals in their field having intelligent conversation and doing their jobs, and just documenting the whole thing. It's so nice to see. No crappy sound effects or youtuber-style yelling or constant merch plugs. Just people being people and documenting their interesting jobs😊
The video card really had me questioning why there was a nun next to a man with his arm in a horse 😂 It’s the headband against your dark hair! I need a nap 😂
Those sweet sweet eyes of her before getting started flushing. Horses are one of the most beautiful creatures ever! And the mini cows!! They kill me. 🥰🥰
This is a fascinating video. Thank you so much for taking us along. I’ve feel like I’ve learned a lot watching you co-ordinate all your mares’ timings etc over the past weeks. Also loved learning about foal alerts and seeing those gangly-legged beautiful foals being born and thriving. As you said, so emotionally and mentally challenging. Thank you again xxx
I was so curious about this! Tyfs! I’m surprised by my own discomfort with it. I’m a nurse, a mom and a grandma .. little makes me cringe but it was a tense watch. Having said that, it is fascinating.
❤to see your gorgeous horses any chance at all bummer about transplant . Katie this video was so fascinating to see myself not familiar with the world of horses and the process of embryo transplant was absolutely fascinating. Thank you so much for showing us and to your Vet for allowing you to video him working it’s amazing to see a glimpse into your world of horses 😃😃😃❤! Thank you.
Loved the video but I was so confused when I saw the thumbnail, I swore I was seeing a nun praying over a man with his arm inside a horse. lol Gave me a good chuckle!
Indie is so pretty! Why would her babies not be wanted? She’s gorgeous! I love how she kept turning to face you as you were talking and both walking out of the barn. Beautiful mares!
I have recently become super interested in horses. but only your horses haha. I have been watching all the videos on facebook and am so excited about the youtube channel. Ive never been particularly interested in horses before but i just love your videos and have become super attatched to seeing what your horses are up to. especially Gracie and Indy!
Indy looks exactly the horse i dreamed of as a child. I first discovered horses as a 3 year old. Since them I've been obsessed with horses. I have never had the privilege of owning one.
had no idea this was even possible. thank you for using plain speak in your videos so even someone like me can understand what your talking about i find this whole topic fascinating
Wow I love watching your videos I just found you & I’ve been a horse lover my whole life!!! You are so blessed ~ your living my dream job!!! Ohhh & I LOVE YOUR VOICE ~ ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!! Your such a beautiful woman & I love your loving personality with your animals so heart warming!!! I’ll be watching all weekend 🥰🫶🙏
So cool! I use Tennessee Equine/ Dr. Matthew for my breeding program also and have been considering embryo transfer so I really appreciated this video! Thank you!
Indy loads and travels so well. This is amazing. It’s really so cool that this is a thing that can be done. Fertilize inside the horse, catch that embryo and let it implant in another who can carry it? So amazing.
I knew nothing about horses or this life before I followed you on tiktok and love these videos. But you keep mentioning 'show' horses and then in this video you talked about western riding and stuff. Could you do a more general video about the different 'uses' for horses. I know you've said yours are show but what does that actually mean and what are the other options etc x
Man there is so much that goes into breeding these girls to have the beautiful babies they have! Keeping you busy and on your toes, besides all the other things you got going on!
If had the room and money I WOULD so take and Indy baby. ONE because I LOVE horses and I love her looks and name. I also have a rooster named Indy lol. I would use it for just riding and spoil it to the moon and back. If I was younger and better health I would show and compete. If I have the money an room and someone wanted to train on the younger horse and compete with it then I would let them. As some of my friends have horses and let younger kids ride and do that with their horses as it helps keep them fit and gives the kids 1. something to do 2 and teaches them responsibility 3. teaches them a lot of things in life. Hope all goes well with what ever plans you decided on.
Small world! I just started watching your videos a couple months ago and we use Tennessee Equine as well but their southern branch located just across the TN AL line
Cool is a beautiful mare, and indi is beautiful and lovely mare. My aunt used to have an stallon but her husband doesn't like stallon which i found my aunt's husband chicken being around horses. As for me i love horses and cool and indi are just so beautiful horses and breeding them to get new generation is awesome ❤❤❤
Hey Katie. So I’m just wondering. Can you breed the mares later in the year. For example like May June July etc etc. or is the beginning of the year the best time.
Yes you can breed. Warmer climates breed for august and October when the weather is more mild. With quarter horses, they all age January first according to the rules. So if you horse is born in July, they will be considered a yearling in January when they are actually 6 months old. For the 2/3 year old classes, those 6 months of maturing matters so early babies are more desirable
So I've been wondering, why does the time of year matter when the babies are born? I remember from your tiktoks you mention March babies and you also mentioned it a lot here. Just curious as to why the time of year they are born is important.
I know you all (Katie and the vet) are experienced and experts… I mean those stables are enough to prove that… but dang does that look like a not fun time for cool at all 😅
Your videos are fascinating. I've learned so much since I started following you. Thank you for taking the time to share. Oh.. thanks to the vet and staff for there willingness to share so much information.
It's been many years since we did embryo transfer with horses, but I did have 1 question. While Cool was being flushed earlier in the week, could the embryo been flushed out then?
I'm going back and watching the videos from the beginning. Are the babies you're breed for in these videos the babies being born currently in Feb/March 2024?
So interesting to see! I work in the human medical field & we’re a follow on from some of this so wow. Rationally I know this is in the past, lkke 4k miles away etc etc buuuuut in non-rationality: I was eating a snack & stopped so my crunching so he could see well when looking under the microscope 😅😅😅
I have a question that may be dumb. So. When you do an embryo transfer, do both babies automatically come out the same sex? Or are they just 2 ovum that grow separately, therefore, they are different? Thanks!
What is “icsy”? It is probably an acronym that I spelled wrong.. but you said you asked your vet to start a program for it but he said no, just wondering what it is? Also, love this youtube channel, I don’t really use the other platforms ❤️
I believe it's ICSI, intracytoplasmic sperm injection. It involves injecting a sperm cell directly into an egg and is used in human fertility treatments
This is so fascinating! Please thank your vet for his willingness to be on camera and explain all of this. I think it is so good for people who aren’t super familiar with animal husbandry to learn about these things. Gives us a better appreciation for responsible breeders.

You aren't the only one that saw a nun.
I thought the same exact thing 😂
Those sweet sweet eyes of her before getting started flushing.
Horses are one of the most beautiful creatures ever!
And the mini cows!! They kill me. 🥰🥰
Love your channel! Cannot believe how interesting and how much work goes into the Breeding Process. Thank you for taking us along for the ride ❤🐴
It impresses me that Katie seems to do it all AND look amazing!! Love it Indie from a kill pen….unreal. I’m so thankful you saved her!
This is a fascinating video. Thank you so much for taking us along. I’ve feel like I’ve learned a lot watching you co-ordinate all your mares’ timings etc over the past weeks. I love the longer video format. Thanks for showing us the process!
Love the longer format videos! Breeding is not for the weak... there is so much that goes into it that people don't normally see.
I was so curious about this! Tyfs! I’m surprised by my own discomfort with it. I’m a nurse, a mom and a grandma .. little makes me cringe but it was a tense watch. Having said that, it is fascinating.
I did my veterinary technician clinicals with Dr Matthew, loved him!
Katie, thank you so much for taking us along on this journey ❤ Sorry, no embryo could be found. This video was very fascinating and also educational.
❤to see your gorgeous horses any chance at all bummer about transplant . I love these informing videos! Thanks for making these and your vet, that he shares his education in this process 🙏
That was so interesting. Thank you Katie and your vet for allowing this process to be filmed. I ready hope Cool is pregnant ❤
Watching this now knowing what happened to poor Cool 💔💔 love watching on Tiktok and UA-cam! Your amazing ❤
I think there's a limit Time to breed mares at 18/19 yrs old Maximum..not dépend on health or good life
I really enjoy these longer videos and all of the information so that we can understand how everything works!
It's all about the blood lines , these are show horses only
I have recently become super interested in horses. but only your horses haha. I have been watching all the videos on facebook and am so excited about the youtube channel. ET is such a fascinating process. Thank you for sharing this with us
Off topic is the Vet married? asking for a friend🙂
LOL.. It looks like he has a ring on his left hand, so I'm gonna guess that he is
@@cindalee Dang it, my vision is bad..lol
The plaid button-up shirt gets me every time 😂
Married sadly lol
Funny thing, i was wondering the same thing!❤
Fascinating procedure thanks for sharing
Love the education you and your vet are willing to do. Can't wait to see what happens.
I worked on large studs in Australia but never got to see an embryo transfer, thanks for sharing this was great to see!
Indy looks exactly the horse i dreamed of as a child. I first discovered horses as a 3 year old. Since them I've been obsessed with horses. I have never had the privilege of owning one.
Wow…. From watching you and the glimpse of work you do, you definitely have to have a love for animals… thanks for sharing, it’s very informative
I loved following this process, it was so informative.
Cool and Indie are both beautiful girls
This was so fun to watch! Fingers crossed for both Cool and Indy for babies!
had no idea this was even possible. thank you for using plain speak in your videos so even someone like me can understand what your talking about i find this whole topic fascinating

Hey Katie, Thank you for sharing. I don’t have horses 🐎 but I always have that love for horses, thank your vet also ❤
Indy loads and travels so well. This is amazing. It’s really so cool that this is a thing that can be done. Fertilize inside the horse, catch that embryo and let it implant in another who can carry it? So amazing.
Trudy is so amazing! She's just stunning!
Thank you for sharing!!! I love the info I’ve learned watching your channel and TikTok
When you doing embryo transfer do you have to check your horse blood type to the other horses, like you would for a human?
I knew nothing about horses or this life before I followed you on tiktok and love these videos. But you keep mentioning 'show' horses and then in this video you talked about western riding and stuff. Very educational video. Thanks for sharing this journey with us ❤
Thanks for brining us on the journey! Good luck :)

Loved this segment Katie. It was so informative. I sure hope she’s PG!
She is beautiful thanks for taking us on the journey here and on FB.
Aww im so excited, your horses are absoloutely stunning ❤
Sad they have kill shelters , glad you where able to save her❤
Very interesting, thanks for sharing so much with us. I have always loved horses, so my favorite subject.

Oooh I am so excited for babies currently to fill out!
This is amazing. Thank you for the knowledge
Thank You and your vet for allowing us to be apart of the flushing. I don’t want to sound bad but please tell me how come you are breeding Ginger at 2
Awe we had an EZ on the Eyez baby born at my old barn and she was SO CUTE!!! How cool!
A very interesting video. Thankyou for sharing it❤❤
I know some horses have issues getting into the trailers. Do people try to get them used to the trailers by practice loading them as babies?
Learning so much about horses. Do they always have singleton babies ?
Wendy, rarely ever twins.
Twins are quite dangerous for horses. We usually intervene if twins occur
Such a fascinating video! Looking forward to learning what you decide to do.

@@victoriareinbold8322 thank you so much. I don’t know anything about horse so this is all new to me. It’s very interesting.
You can bred late for general purposes, but for show or racing horses, as the previous person stated, it isn't advisable.
Hmmm new mare coming? Maybe for a broodmare?
So I've been wondering, why does the time of year matter when the babies are born? I remember from your tiktoks you mention March babies and you also mentioned it a lot here. Just curious as to why the time of year they are born is important.
Genuine wanting to learn question… is there a slight chance the embryo was accidentally flushed with the lavaging?
I know you all (Katie and the vet) are experienced and experts… I mean those stables are enough to prove that… but dang does that look like a not fun time for cool at all 😅
Sending good luck for this breeding season!
Beautiful horses
Thank you. Fab educational videos. Sorry you didn’t get the embryo xx
What is the age range you stop breeding mares?
This was so good and educational. Thank you
Very educational video. You said it all. If it were easy everybody would do it. Thank you for sharing .🐴🐴
Your videos are fascinating. I've learned so much since I started following you. Thank you for taking the time to share. Oh.. thanks to the vet and staff for there willingness to share so much information.
Omg I don't know how you handle this. I would be n emotional wreck!! Lol. So cool to see the process tho, thank you so much for sharing. 😊
Indy is so gorgeous ❤❤
I like what doing and learn more about breeding of horses
How often do you bread each horse ?
In a breeding operation, you breed them yearly, so a baby every year.
It's been many years since we did embryo transfer with horses, but I did have 1 question. While Cool was being flushed earlier in the week, could the embryo been flushed out then?
No it should still be up in the tubes I believe
Thanks for sharing I found this interesting and educational ❤❤❤
Why didnt it work out ?
So were you able to find a recip mare for the 2nd embryo (Question from a prior breeding mentioned in vid)
And can we talk about how WELL Indy loads!
I really enjoy your videos I am learning a lot.
Hey great job driving and doing the video while pulling a trailer. Multitask.
This was sooo interesting and fascinating!!! But like your vet 🔥🤤❤️
I'm going back and watching the videos from the beginning.
Are the babies you're breed for in these videos the babies being born currently in Feb/March 2024?

Really love this channel ❤
I come here for the content, but the vet just takes my whole attention he is FINEEEE
Who is the young boy in the film?
i love your content so so so much, Katie but that thumbnail had me like "why is there a nun praying next to the doc" for a second hahahaha..
Wow, very interesting. Let's hear the vet.
absolutely fascinating!
Katie you bought another mare congratulations ❤❤
I have a question that may be dumb. So. When you do an embryo transfer, do both babies automatically come out the same sex? Or are they just 2 ovum that grow separately, therefore, they are different? Thanks!

Hey katie if you are able to breed cool this year and she has a filly would you think of keeping her filly to keep her bloodline going?
Loving the info and the videos. Question, You have BoBo and do ever use him to breed any of your mares to get a baby?
Bo is a gelding, he can't have babies.
Bo is gelded
I think I found my channel! I've been I the QH business for more years than I care to admit lol.
I am news today so it is very interesting and kind of confusing but thank you for explaining❤
