    Just made this. So good! Great recipe. Black soy sauce is a MUST (and has such a great flavor). I also like to add an extra Tablespoon of the black soy sauce at the end before giving it one last toss.

    Yep. Pad See Ew is my favorite Thai dish. I've never tried to cook it myself. I didn't realize it was so easy and I usually have all the ingredients on hand. Thanks for the cooking demo.

    I have been missing Thai food while in quarantine, so this was great! I did not have black soy sauce or seasoning soy sauce so I made some substitutions, but I was so pleased with how everything tasted.

      Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) is one of my favorites too. I will make it for you soon. But in the meantime, maybe this recipe will hold you over until I can make Drunken Noodles: www.spoonforkheart.com/blog/drunken-spaghetti-stir-fry

    Looks amazing!! I've been trying to recreate this dish at home. Is there a difference between Black soy Sauce and Dark soy sauce? I bought Chinese dark soy sauce and it was not the same!

    • @traviswilliams3034
      @traviswilliams3034 4 роки тому

      The two terms are used interchangeably when translated into English, so there's no practical difference. However, Chinese black soy sauce is considerably saltier than it's thai counterpart, which is considerably sweeter. To make something that approximates Thai dark soy sauce, mix equal parts Chinese dark, and Shaoxin wine (regular western cooking sherry or even sake will do in a pinch).

  • @pinchejelly707

    Can you use dark soy sauce instead of black soy sauce?

    • @SpoonForkHeart
      @SpoonForkHeart  6 років тому

      I think it's probably the same thing, maybe I just used the wrong word.
