Man, I miss living on the farm. I live in Louisville proper now and this takes me back to living on my dad's farm. We have 100 acres in Western Kentucky and it's heaven on earth. I envy you, man.

In Virginia a couple decades ago, the raccoon population was not only huge, but largely rabid. Large populations pass contagion around more rapidly and when that population lives among people and domestic animals, things can get serious.
This is the life of a homesteader, farmer, etc. My dad was given crap by a group of folks some years back for raising beef cattle. I kid you not...a few hours later one of their group was at the local Dairy Queen eating a big ole cheese burger! No joke! SERIOUSLY folks where do you think God intended our food to come from. Keep the videos coming. I'm from Ky and it's a part of life. You shouldn't worry about what others think. I saw nothing graphic in your video, lol. Love your channel, both of them!
John I have been watching your channel for along time. I like that you show real life. People that don't like it, have no idea how hard you work to provide for your family.Great job, & God Bless you & your family.
An interesting video indeed, made by a seemingly friendly and kind man, furnishing us with a great deal of background information, plenty of explanation, and a description, of what is being done, and why it is really necessary. Omitting video of the dispatching of what you catch, which one assumes must take place, seems maybe a good idea at first, but actually is an integral part of what you do. If it is necessary and is carried out, it should also be shown, in my humble opinion. Thanks for taking the trouble to make this video and place it here on UA-cam.
I agree with Greg Hiller. Great video and I like the way you teach. I also do believe you should show how you dispatch your catches. It's part of the process of and for people like me it would give me an idea of how to go about it in the most humane way so they don't suffer. Awesome video, thanks for sharing your life with us😊😊😊

I wish he was still on UA-cam. He has a wonderful personality and disposition. It is wonderful that you use most if not all of the animal. And that you arent just killing for fun or trying to wipe out the pest population. Its good to cull the population every so often when it becomes too much.
Thank you so much for sharing jnull0! you are such a multi- talented man. Yes, you are indeed! you can make hats, the Salisbury Steak was to die for. Your family is so lucky to have you especially your wife. God Bless you for working so hard and providing for your family!
People who don't live in the country have no idea what it's like to protect livestock. Yes its painful to kill animals but at least we are not out killing for the sake of killing something, we are protecting a small area to raise livestock, that's all. Good video and good trapping!
i get harassed all the time for killing the rattlesnakes on my property. Here in the AZ desert, theres millions of snakes. People think they are "rare" because the only time city folk see them is in the zoo. If someone killed a jack rabbit, nobody would shed a tear.. But God forbid someone kill an extremely deadly and dangerous snake that coils up in your water hoses or eats your chickens XD If you dont live in the country, dont tell country people how to live XD
I get frustrated when people tell me that its evil to kill animals. I use every part of the animal. I watch people shop at grocery stores that bring in way to much meat just to make the store look nice.
@@thekommisarfirstsecretary That's equally b.s. I've seen documented (film and press release photos) of people (if that's what you want to call them) protesting so-called "rattle snake round-ups).

It's not like those raccoons haven't played hell with you on your homestead this year. I ran into a possum one night on the stairs. It had it's teeth and claws bared and was ready to attack.
