People love to hate on things they're secretly envious of others having.
Yep, media bias against Tesla is extreme, but driving down the highway or any street in Washington State and Tesla vehicles everywhere!
This media bias may subside soon enough, as Tesla is ramping up their advertising efforts. The media that has been very unfair to Tesla will quiet down in hopes of generating ad revenue from Tesla. This will take time though.

On line comments are dominated by self interest posts. Unions, legacy manufacturers, legacy media that Tesla doesn’t pay for positive coverage etc.

Yes, everyone I know that knows nothing about it say, it's ugly, it doesn't work, people don't want one. It won't sell and it'll disappear sooner than it arrived. OMG, I just can't get through to people that all hate it via the internet FUD that's been going around. Probably paid for by big oil 😂. Let's go and try to get our friends & family to appreciate & benefit from EVs.

I'm amazed at how unaware people are of Tesla and EVs in general. I've owned my Tesla for almost 5 years now and I still get people asking questions like they think its a hybrid. They are surprised its all electric when I tell them. I'm like do you live in a cave on a mountain bro?

Therefore no badge, name, logo or writing required for anyone to Look and know what it is. Or look and ask what it is.,can you think of another product that’s as instantly remarkable?

The CyberTruck is not only the best advertisement for Tesla, it’s also perfectly aligned with Teslas mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy. So many people are going to realize EVs are here, they’re practical and in 99% of the cases better than gas/diesel vehicles
I’m surprised that most people in real life like the truck that much! I thought it would be more split. This is awesome! The demand was already off the hook before delivery but now… I think they have to build another plant in Mexico, Europe/ China to keep up the new demand.
Like I said, I think most people that don't like it would just not come over or say anything. But the amount of people coming up was just crazy. The internet is the opposite, if someone likes something they probably don't interact as much, if they hate it, they're attacking! haha
They are not selling this outside of America because of safety concerns.

I can't believe how many people didn't even know the Cybertruck existed.
One other thought - having your family with you -especially those adorable kids - has to be disarming for someone who might otherwise think “oh there’s another EV jerk”. Instead, you’re just a normal guy with his family on a road trip (in a giant triangle).
That's probably true. But that doesn't explain the reaction while he and other CT drivers experience while driving. People can't see what's inside the truck and yet still respond very positively.
That was a powerful statement at the end. “Well what if this look were gas.” This Mars rover look wouldn’t be possible with an engine, all that space, 🤯 and 0-60 in 4.

Based on my 2 weeks of driving the Cybertruck, 99.999% of reactions have been positive, ranging from mild interest to outright joy. It’s fun driving around just seeing how excited people become

I love how many people pretend that gas or diesel vehicles don't also have reduced range when towing.
They get range cut in half too, just starting from higher max.
There are a ton of disingenuous conversations surrounding EVs, but IMO this is still a valid weakness of EVs, even if the point is arrived on accidentally.
There are still way more gas stations than EV chargers. You can still fill a gas truck way, way faster than you can fully charge an EV. Most gas stations have room for truck + trailer, most EV chargers do not.
Most of the time I think the range convos are stupid because 99% of the time range doesn’t matter. But when you’re towing long distance and depleting your entire battery every 120 miles, have limited spots you can charge, and will be at the charger for 50 minutes every 120 miles if you can even find one that will let you charge without disconnecting your trailer…
Yeah it’s an issue. But like I said I think most of the conversations are disingenuous regardless and most people who complain about towing range literally never tow anything and are just looking for ICE “wins.”
@@bass-tones Yea, and it will only get better over time, and as someone who has road tripped a ton in their lives, I wouldn't be that upset with being forced to take more frequent and longer breaks. Yea you get to the destination a bit slower, but you can spend more time enjoying the trip itself.

If you include houses as chargers than there are more EV chargers than gas stations currently, even if its from a standard outlet that provides 4 miles of range per hour of charging on a Model 3. My apartment complex is on a waiting list to build EV chargers for apartment dwellers like myself. The Average American drives 37 miles per day. If I were to charge from a standard household outlet and get 4 miles of range per hour of charging then I would never need to charger at a supercharger if I charged at home at least 10 hours per day. If I paid an electrician to install a level 2 charger at a house that I would hypothetically own then I would get about 40 miles of range per hour of charging at home for a Model 3. One hour of charging is more than enough for your average house owning American with a level 2 charger. @@bass-tones

Someone said it before: Online people are more likely to be honest about their feelings, in person people are more likely to be agreeable because that's socially normative and expected in society.
Many people say and do things online that they would NEVER do in person.

There are a lot of truly unhappy people on forums and comments, they go out of their way to share negativity as it soothes them psychologically to try and make others think negatively too, love or hate the design but it represents technological progress and American innovation ❤.

You know, I am slightly obsessed with Tesla. I know most of the pros and cons of Tesla and the Cybertruck. And I'm glad they finally came out with the Cybertruck. But I'm surprised at the reactions people are having to the Cybertruck. I've seen more than several videos and everyone reports similar reactions.
So, considering all the negative reactions and naysayers, they were wrong. Even pro-Tesla people sometimes were really negative about the truck. But the reactions are ultimately the best word of mouth advertising ever. Even though they are producing the truck at lower volumes, every truck on the road is a head turner.

I am not a person who is interested in commenting or reading comments, but now I have to participate in this discussion about comment sections. There are exceptions, but most of the commenters are full of hate and their knowledge is not even average. There is no point in even trying to explain anything to them because they are in battle mode. They don't believe they are wrong about anything. Most of the smart ones stay away from comment sections, so it's very difficult to get a real picture of people's general opinions from there. But hey! You might be the exception!

This was so cool to see so many nice and genuine people especially the trainer at the gym. Apparently all of the keyboard warriors were at home typing away wishing ill will towards Tesla. You don't get anymore American than Tesla when it comes to vehicles.

Chris, something I have been dreaming about for some time now is to get a Cybertruck shipped to Cape Town and drive it around for a few months and ship it back to the US as it won't be able to registered here due to it being left-hand-drive. I would LOVE to see the reactions of people down here because first of all, nobody really knows about Tesla vehicles here (yeah I live in my own Tesla bubble living vicariously though you guys - hahahaha), but that it is just super cool and wild! It would be so interesting to see the reactions of people here compared to the USA. Now where is that $$$$$$ to make this dream a reality. 🤣... it would look SICK parked at the beach with Table Mountain in the background on a stunning sunny day or videos driving it along Chapmans Peak drive.
