A lot to tell in this one, we are making the entire leg assembly, a big step on the way to our workbench!
This is the fourth video in a longer series about making a versatile Workbench/Workstation. This project is especially awesome for small workshops but the general construction methods can be used for any size wood shop!
Here´s a short list of tools that I use or that went into the workbench. These are affiliate links that will lead you straight to the amazon page of the item.

Wow, much respect sir! Amazing craftsmanship, thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! Welcome to my workshop!
Thanks, Thomas. Your workbench is a great combination of economy, practicality, and ingenuity. The best of a solid top bench and a torsion table combined. Hurry up with the next episode!
Your very welcome! Great that you like it! I won´t quite manage to put out the next episode before the end of the year, but I´m editing right this moment and by the middle of next week it will be online.
Thank you for commenting and
happy new year :D
Nice tip with the pin
Love the dowel idea I've done that in the past. I guess we saw the same video lol. Been glued to this build even though I'm not building one at this time
Great build! I’m learning a lot! Thank you my friend!
That´s cool! Welcome to my workshop!
I really really like the way you build this workbench. I did it nearly the same two months ago, but not that professional. Thank you very much for showing the trick with the dowels, i will use this hack in my next workbench :)
No problem :D I learned from UA-cam, now I want to give back to UA-cam :) Glad you liked it!
If you keep some of the sawdust handy, rub a handful of it on the excess glue then scrape with a putty knife. It reduces the sanding you need immensely. I got that tip from Next Level Carpentry's channel and it work's great. As for the boiled linseed oil, remember the old adage about using it on a finished bare wood product: "Apply once a day for a week, then once a week for a month, once a month for a year and finally once a year for life." You can also make a great finish using equal parts linseed oil, urethane and mineral spirits. The oil nourishes the wood, the urethane protects the surface and the mineral spirits make it dry faster. Good design you have there.
Super Machart!
Thank you for converting millimeters to inches and centimeters it makes it a lot easier to follow.
You´re welcome! Thanks for the feedback!
🎥 GREAT JOB ⚙️🔩🔧⚒️ ! _ Congratulations! 👍 🇧🇷
When can we expect the next video? I must build this thing.
Hi Brent!
I hope to finish and publish it this week.
Happy Holidays :)
That much sawdust is a sign of a hardworking woodworker 😂😂😂
...who doesn´t have a dust collector xD
Half lap joints are stronger and quicker than morticed.
That isn't your typical planer what type is that and also what is the name brand?
It´s an "Elektra Beckum HC 260". It was made around 1990. The company doesn´t exist anymore but Metabo took over most of their stuff and is still producing it today. But most brands have their version of it. That type of planer/thicknesser is the usual type here in Germany that you can buy in most tool shops/home depots etc.
Thanks Thomas, have you a link for the leg stand, also do you sell the plans
Hi Roy,
yes, I am planning to sell the plans, I hope to have finished them by this summer. I am not sure if I know what you mean by leg stand, could you give me the time in the video when it appears?
Regards,
Thomas
Hi Thomas Part 5 12.10 you call them feet, please let me know when the plans are ready thanks Roy
Ok I got it now. I had them made in a metal shop. They are 10 mm steelplates with M20 threaded rods welded to them.
So if you´re in America you might wanna use 1/2 or 3/8 inch plates with 3/4 inch threaded rods.
I use he same type of feet on my drillpress-stand and my bandsaw-stand.
I will notify you as soon as the plans are done. In any case I will also mention it in a video as soon as they are available.
Regards,
Thomas
ok thanks what length is the rod, and the diameter of the plate thanks Roy UK
The rod is140 mm long, the diameter of the plate is 80 mm
8:44 why do you drill at 5cm and not 4.5?
hi there. what type of wood is that?
Hi! That's spruce, but any type of wood would be ok for that.
Hii, How cost this project
Hi Wojciech,
including everything, the router, vise, cabinets etc the workbench was around 1000€.
Beam me up, Thomas :-)
Hahahaha :D
beam
Can Someone tell men what’s that bandsaw he owes?
Hi Benjamin,
it´s an old Eastern-German made machine, I don´t actually know its name to be honest :)
thanks a lot your videos are great, the bandsaw seems to be a perfect size for my small one car garage.
Great video but seriously, you need to purchase a compound mitre saw.
Hahaha yeah it seems like it :D Thanks for watching!
@Colin, yep I had the same tough awhile ago at some of his previous videos
4:15 "Beam" There! Were you really going to leave the count at 19? It needed to be rounded off to an even 20. You're welcome!
I know I know ^^ My OCD demands it but I didnt count when I was babbling, just noticed during the edit xD
So thanks!
