Hi there! In this episode we go through all the steps of installing the large twin screw vise, that sits on the business end of the workbench. Once again there is a lot to tell, hope you enjoy :)
This is the seventh video in a longer series about making a versatile Workbench/Workstation. This project is especially awesome for small workshops but the general construction methods can be used for any size wood shop!
Here´s a short list of tools that I use or that went into the workbench. These are affiliate links that will lead you straight to the amazon page of the item.

Best explanation on installing twin screw that I’ve seen. Thank you
I have watched a lot of these twin screw installation videos and this is by far the best. Congratulations!
Amen, amen and AMEN! With one small caveat: I believe the chain is still a bit too loose. Thus, I would install a small lever, and spring loaded sprocket; to remove all looseness from the chain. This would make the twin screws feel awesome I believe. And the spring would keep the chain tightened at all temperatures.
I would make the spring adjustable. So you could get just the right tightness. For what it's worth.
Very nice presentation, excellent design and implementation. Informative. Useful.
Super!
Danke!
Another great video! I was waiting for the next installment! Thank you!
Glad you liked it! Thank you for watching!
Very thorough instructions, thanks for posting
In a day or two I will be installing a Veritas twin-screw vise on my new bench. Watching your video is very helpful. I've read the instructions very carefully, but it really helps to see someone actually doing it. Thanks.
Ah that´s great! I must say I found the instructions rather funny and complicated...
Great job. Looks very strong and sturdy
Thanks!
It's coming along great man.
Thanks bud!
7:40 alignment perfect done.
Quello che cercavo. Grazie!
Prego! Thank you for watching!
Cool perfect ❗👍👍👍
Thanks :D
⚙️🔩🔧⚒️ Very nice project 🛠️, great video 🎥 !! _ Congratulations! 👍 🇧🇷
9:22 Using your unfinished workbench to complete your workbench. Bravo. :)
Very nice , however , the main reason for a non racking veritas double screw vice IS for the non racking feature , as you mentioned . THAT is why it almost always is used as a front vice . As a front vise it's right (or left) edge can be used , in conjunction with a 'dead man' dog board to secure larger pieces up against the long side of the work bench for edge planing etc (even a few dog holes in a bench leg or simply a clamp can do ) . (on the end as a tail vice you have greatly limited the value (not expense) of this vice in that as an end vice and the advantage of space between the screws is still there , but racking is not an issue used this way )
Question: Do you have links for the manufacturer or vendor of the tools you are using in your videos? I expecially like your corded drill guide.
Hi my friend!
I think I will give a full list some time in the future. Until then, this is the link for the drill guide (german amazon):

I´m sure you can find something similar in the States. The one I have is rather cheap and I had to flatten the bottom before I could use it and the rails have some play, but it works okay.
I guess you never heard about t-nuts. No inserts needed.
LOL, "my OCD was happy". I was thinking almost the same thing.
Instead of the plastic pins, you should use bicycle idler wheels from a derailleur. If the chain pitch is different, there are idlers that are smooth that have no pitch.
Super Video!
Hallo, sag wo hast du denn die kombinierten Kettenklemmung her? Amazon?
Well, after a year what do you think about the vices operation?
It´s quite allright, the only thing missing really is a quick release so I don´t have to screw it all the way back and forth, but only the last few millimeters. This way it just takes some time if I want to clamp something thick...
My set screws come loose alot. What a pain ... not the best design
Do you mean the ones on the left spindle?
What is that attachment for your angle grinder that your using to carve the edges?
It´s a see-through grinding disc (40 grid), I am trying to find it on U.S. Amazon to send you a link but didn´t have any luck yet.
Pilot´s Workshop thank you so much! I'm from Canada, so I have a lot of woodworking stores to check out
Wurth sells them as "see-through grinding discs"
Nice! :D
LIDL and ALDI are your friends i see...
👍👍👍🇹🇷
:D
I definitely would have turned that the wrong way the first time.

Phew... I´m glad we cleared that up :D
