5:00 Ok, that broke my sense of euclidean space and what was a floor vs ceiling vs wall. That's how you know we're getting into the good stuff, or the bad art. Or both.
We tried to play this without the map. Imagine walking for hours only to find nothing. But it made me love the music and the feeling of adventure. Modern games just have no idea.
I think this game is actually easier if you use Julian to acquire a bunch of gear and then purposefully kill him off close to town to switch to Phillip. Julian starts with higher bravery but that's very easily grindable. Once you get to 100+ bravery you're almost immortal and the only thing that can reliably hurt you is archers. Phillip starts with balanced stats so you really only need to raise kindness a couple points. The third brother Kevin starts with really high kindness but super low bravery and even with the prior brother's equipment found makes him pretty fragile unless you use that "through the bars" trick like at 13:28 to grind up bravery. Of course, this TAS skips like 90% of the stuff needed to get to the final area so the kindness stat was pretty irrelevant.
“Hey Tom, how do we program the battle music to stop once the enemies are dead?”
“I unno, just let it play out.”
“Got it.”
Lol
Many times I’ve been on edge waiting for more enemies to enter the screen but there are no others.. the music is scary! Haha
12:35 Julian hides in a small room and cranks one out.

Kenshi.
I played this as a kid. Never knew there was a map. Just wandered around never getting anywhere. Lol
The mother of all walking simulators
Indeed.

Aaaaaah, finalmente achei esse jogo! Joguei lá em 2007 quando tinha um computador super antigo 😂 Thank you so much! 🇧🇷

I never would've guessed that some random guy named Julian was the greatest fighter in the world.
I loved this game so much when I was a kid. I completed it so many times but still can't remember anything from it except the music... haha
Played this on an Amiga500™. This version does sound right to me at all.
Except the Last Area sounds EXACTLY the same... Wild.
Good game
I've seen "Fairy" and "Faerie", but never "Faery". Interesting game tho, wonder what it's like normally. Might want to check that out someday.
