my take on why league sucks - it has all the stress of a real sport without the physical activity that gives you the chemical response to feel satisfied after the game. this is why you never even feel good when you win a league game, but dont feel too bad after losing a real game.

Also you dont know the players. If you play football you know your friends and might even drink a beer with your enemies afterwards. In league you would try to insult your foes AND your friends. The environment is toxic on the very base.

You get to play because you usually want to improve, queque up a ranked game, and in the first few minutes proceed to understand that 99% of the time, the people who are with you focus more about complaining for other people's performance instead of theirs.
Playing league of legends is not a beautiful experience when every game I have to basically mute everyone so that I can focus slightly more(and even then you won't win,bc again, your teammates focused more on typing on chat instead of playing). League of legends is a team based game but when you play ranked you're actually playing alone, that's how I felt playing this bad game, and since I've quit it, i've never felt any better. I guess it just wasn't my type of game.

The balancement doesn't help either because they completely ignore everything else that is not pro play. I've seen champions perfectly balanced being nerfed, and champions that needed reworks being left in the dust for years before becoming available again.

It's also - most of us are 30+ now, we have responsibilities - we don't have time to smash out 10-20 games/day. We don't have the time to waste 30-40 minutes per game for a nil result. We could have cooked dinner, sorted the kids out, ran errands/cleaned the house, whatever, in that time. We've outgrown the game. It's just not worth our time anymore.
I mainly just play shmups now. 5/10 minutes and my ''gaming scratch'' is itched. As opposed to 12 hours of ranked cancer hell in league, just to most likely be breakeven/+20LP at the end. If i have a proper ''day off'' from life, i'll sink a few hours into an RPG with a couple beers and some pizza and cheesecake.
Life's too short to play a toxic/cancerous game, or willingly put yourself through an awful environment/experience.

Competitive games, getting to 10-15% body fat which is insane to keep for a long time, these things you do once or twice in your life, the next time it's abuse to your mind and body, it's not bad to try once to be ultra competitive or ultra fit or ultra good at an instrument but you are gonna see that it only works one time where it doesn't completely destroy your mind, we are not gods we are humans, we are expected to be god damn athletes and pro players in EVERYTHING WE DO IN LIFE, you can't, it messes with your brain, with your reward system.
Fck up one time? it's not "that's too bad I will learn" , it's "I'm a worthless worm" , do 6 things brilliantly, excel like you are the best human , "That's god damn right, it's to be expected of me", absolute toxic behaviour, what were the parents doing?
You realistically can't do all this, you are gonna go insane , you just want a relaxed fun life where you can have fun with other people, however in society everyone wants to be the next Lebron James of "insert thing here"

I think the LoL community gets bad before streamers.
The game itself has core issues that incentivizes de-humanizing everyone you interact with.
It becomes obvious when everyone buys accounts, smurfs, ints, runs it down, full mutes, etc.
Autofill that causes you to not care about the current game you're in, no voice chat causing you to treat everyone as mindless robots with no coordination, no punishing smurfs/alts and therefore allowing people to do whatever they want with practically no consequence, etc.
The list goes on, and all of these things just tell players "Hey, don't treat your teammates like people! That just makes the game harder! Play on your own, ignore everyone else."
For a multiplayer and team based game with ranked, its pretty stupid

I started playing league around the end of S4 and the beginning of S5, and that was the best time I had playing this game. I quit because I realized it will never go back to what it was anymore, it's just not the same game I used to love...
I almost got kicked out of university because I couldn't stop playing during my first and second year. My grades, friendship, and social life suffered to the point where I cannot even recognize myself anymore. Moreover, my life was completely filled by playing league everyday for countless hours, and I was too embarrassed to tell anyone about my gaming addictions. I tried to quit by uninstalling the game quite a few times before, but it was only since June of 2020 when I managed to quit completely. On the day that I quit, I was so angry and frustrated that I lost countless ranked games in a row, to the point where I almost raged after I lost a couple of meaningless ARAM games just trying to win for once. I was no longer having fun but rather playing just because couple of friends who introduced me to the game were still playing. What really hit me was the sudden realization that I've put my blood and sweat over all these years, yet I was still hard stuck gold and couldn't win a single game that day no matter how hard I tried. I had never lost my mind like that before and I knew that I just couldn't take it anymore, so I deleted the game one last time for good. Since then, I haven't touched the game and I absolutely don't have any desire to play it again.
I regretted wasting six years of precious time, life, and money on this game, and it's something that I can never get back. Looking back at it, I don't miss this game at all. It was simply one of the best decisions I've made as it changed my life completely. I became a much happier person, as I found my purpose and calling in life through my church. In terms of my career, I made the decision to pursue a career in education after I quit. More importantly, just a few months after I quit I met my girlfriend, and we have been dating for over a year now. Honestly, I don't think I would have gotten a girlfriend if I continued playing. Your life will be in a much better state when you stop wasting your money and time on something that's literally a virtual reward and data. Seriously guys life is too valuable to continue to waste it on something like this…

A question for the Americans in the chat: how does defamation works in the US? I was told that in the USA you are basically allowed to say anything about anyone, but I know for a fact that the US has defamation laws (at least in some states).
Here in my country you must be very careful about what you say publicly, even if what you say is true,.
Basically it is impossible to publicly accuse someone since you are allowed to do that only after the verdict of a judge. So basically everyone is silent until you know the result of the process.
For example say that someone scams you, you publicly say that he is a scammer and sue him. You can actually lose the defamation process(if he was never proven to be a scammer by a judge before) and win the one related to the scam itself
There are some nuances, and it is not an automatic loss in the defamation cause, but still basically everyone is strongly suggested to stay silent.

Defamation and libel cases are hard to prove because you have to show you lose monetary value and most people cant do that. So you can say anything about anyone, and you can either say its "my opinion", which saves you, or bank on the fact that defamation cases are hard to prove because a person would have to prove that what you said was a direct result of them losing money. If you say something true, its not defamation.

ive said this for the longest time, but if you truly want to nerfs jglers, roaming supports/mid lane, then the BEST way to do it is unnerf wards and allow it to where you can have as many of them as you want on the map (just increase the cost), and increase the price of boots while giving them compensation buffs. Warding in particular was the best counter to jg you could possibly have, but over time they nerfed wards hard and they buffed sweeper. not only did they buff sweeper, but they gave you items that reduced wards to just 1 tap aswell as added those idiotic plants that just reduces all wards in a giant radius to 1 tap.
I get it, unlimited wards was broken when you were ahead since it basically gave you a map hack if you warded properly, but that it was balanced in the fact that it was only the support doing this, and they needed to spend nearly all of their gold to do so because free ward trinkets did not exist back then. Whats funny tho is that trinkets only exist because low elo players, including supports, refused to spend money on wards despite how good they were. (you could actually climb from warding on a supp alone compared to a enemy support not warding). But fine, i can see how they may not want ward map hacks to come back. Then ATLEAST increase the number of wards (for SUPPORT only) that you can have on the map from 3 to 6, and to balance it out each ward past 3 from the trinket costs 75-100 gold to place on the map.

I lose most games with the best score by a landslide in my games. I only play support. I play genuine supports not full ap excluding lux (blame riot. They ruined support lux). Im usually one 1-3 deaths and everyone else is 5-6 and usually top lane or jungle is 10+.
    Top lane is always counterpicked.
Jungler never ganks and helps us- enemy jungler is somehow in every lane at every moment and also clearing camps in seconds.
    Mid lane isnt roaming
My adc wont go in when i stun them or anything. They are just dumb.
And then you have me that plays defensively because i dont want to feed just like everyone else. Usually i have more kills than at least one other person because im the only person thats smart enough to position correctly most of the time.
For us its adc support and jungle thats hard to beat. Jungle keeps our top and mid from ever getting ahead then spends the rest of the time camping and funneling exp and gold into the adc with help from the support. Then by 10 minutes the adc is 4 levels ahead of you has 3 full items and full boots and youre dead before you can even react.

League is irreparably damaged. There are too many champions, and it's just too daunting for new players. So even more than when I started in S1, you have to tolerate loser ego-chasing, gold-peaking, smurfs grinding your will to play into dust.
Then, the game changes way too much, way too fast, we just had the Items reworked, and it had to be done again.
Damage+Mobility+Engage Range creep has made the game generally unfun, Yone jumping from the edge of your screen with one item and melting you like steel beams is not fun, the outplay potential simply doesn't exist sometimes.
Less important but the graphical fidelity of the game is well beyond dated.
I could drone on and on, but the only way league is every good again is with a sequel, that starts over with less champions and is better balanced and designed all around.

And I agree, their changes are rarely meaningful or helpful, it just feels random, like shuffling the deck.

I have quitted league for about 2 months . Game isnt fun , my friends only care about ranked when I do not care about it. Skin prices are off the roof , and 99% of the time its the most generic skins I've ever seen. Balance is rotten to the core , buff the already strong champions just because the pro players cant dominate with them on every single game they play . Also , reworking champions and stripping them of their personality without giving an alternative to the players that prefered the old champion ( I still wont forget you Asol ) .
Not to mention, the uninteresting events ( except this last one because the swarm gamemode saves it ) , the lost of the winter map , twisted treeline . Aram and normal are full of Toxics , Main Characters and smurfs, making the game imposible to enjoy. And on top of that , a Chinese spyware as a requirement to play the game.
League has extended itself way past its limits , and it gets to the point of tiredness

lol i quitted League of Legends like few months ago because of college works and assignment. And decided to play Dota 2 because they have more unique things available and lots to offer than League of Legends. Do take a note that I moved from Dota 2 to League because of how light and easy it is in League but every match is super repetitive like there's no meta to it. For example if you're Mordekaiser main, you're gonna stuck with playing it at Top like you can't play it as support or ADC. If you do, people gonna report you for trolling.
While in Dota 2, all heroes have no fixed role as they can be whatever they wanna be. For example, you can have Skywrath Mage, mainly for support position, you can become team carry. Moreover now, Dota have this facet stuff which make the game more enjoyable because you can select different type of abilities on the heroes you picked. Faceless Void for example can either pick Chronosphere or Time Zone as his ultimate.
But yeah, gradually League is getting boring over time because how fixated it was + overly repetitive they design the Champions abilities.

  • @Diminisherrr
    @Diminisherrr 3 місяці тому +4

Mid can impact other lanes just as easily. And so can certain top champions (Quinn, Pantheon, Shen)
I don't really understand your argument for the main problem being the roaming roles.
For some perspective; I have been playing LoL since 2012 and only got into playing in high elo from 2019 to now playing every single role (my lowest role was my support account, only managing to achieve D2 before ragequitting the role for good) and as I also often play in the lower elos due to purchasing new accounts or boosting with my friends I definately understand the argument of riot having to make the game really boring because of them not understanding how to balance the game in such a way that its fun for all skill levels. But I certainly do not think the main problem right now is in these roaming roles.
What I've noticed especially over these past 2 or so years is riot desperately trying to force a meta that is interesting to watch for professional play. Making the same champions appear over and over and over again every single champ select, while making the damage and hyperscaling so insane that there is always a risk to throwing making the games feel more risky.
It's way easier now to do comeback and throw than ever before, this in combination with random teammates makes soloQ a horrible experience. THAT is the main problem.

league fucked up by forcing roles, every game has to have a ranged adc + support bot, every game has to have a jungler, of course it's going to get stale, theres only so much you can do with such a cookie cutter format. Also making their audience install a root kit was lmao

      @RandomXse1245 3 місяці тому

Yup same, but with the new update I made my friends finally switch to dota, after like 9 years. The main problem with League is that people can choose their role. 100% where league turned into garbage. Every single player is an inflated one or two trick. People do not understand how to play with and for other roles, they have no concept of it. They either grief when autofilled or boost themselves on their mains. It promotes toxicity it slows down innovation of how the game is played. Just overall destroys the game

League, honestly, been shit for a while. When I hit platinum last season, ranked was all luck. Very little skill was involved in 90% of the ranks. Only in the top few ranks did skill actually matter, and scripters got so plentiful up their as well.
I saw no scripters until I hit gold 1, and after that it was still rare up till high platinum.
    ---
I literally only play Arena now... norms, just are generic.
They try to change it, but it doesn't work. They need more maps. Even fortnite cycles huge-ass map changes every year. League could stand to do that. It make worlds fun if pros were forced to play ARAM live, then next match it was some 4-lane monstrosity with the jungle being open to the lanes, and very little walls.
They need balance to be more freeform. One patch they do 100% true damage on max range teemo Q, and it scales down into a 0% magic pen Q at close range. Then maybe in another patch Azir summons minions equal to X+1% AP.

Every tim they try to buff a champion they buff all of their abilities combined sometimes more than once in just a patch and I think is just because the general community doesnt understand how much each buff can impact a champion. The game is very dead. I started playing it in 2018, even though the game was probably way past it's peak at this point, it felt like it's still quite popular. There were league-related videos on youtube with easily more than a 100k views from different content creators. Cinematics and music videos gained huge attention and attracted some new players. After vanguard update I went to an internet cafe because I still wanted to play league for some time before I quit for good. On EUW during day time on weekends estimated time for finding a game (normal draft) was 2 minutes. For soloQ it's nearly 1 minute or a bit less. 2 years ago I never really had to wait for a normal game on EUW even a 20 seconds. And the worst part is, even on high end PC you have to wait for at least 3 minutes during loading screen. Combine it with draft time that also wastes your time. For arena mode some games took fucking ages to load in for some reason. I don't know whether it's because people have performance issues with vanguard, or riot fucked up their code or both. But vanguard update for sure dropped active playerbase numbers down and it's never felt worse to play this game than now.
