For me most annoying thing was that basically every patch after the durability patch was nerfs to tanks and buffs to dmg... like Riot has dementia or something they did one patch and then starting upping dmg even more like wtf riot
they are making the game more junky for skin selling so if the champion 1 shot they will think they are good at game and buy more (no macro no dodging kill win like FPS) but this is not how it work as saber said you know it's fun when the noob fined the game enjoyably and that is by practicing to hit skillshot & dodge
really . then show me gwen's histroy ?? was she buffed or left out ??? from 100% true dmg on her only ability and that is a convert and not ADDed DMG like master yi E !! either . AND AP champ not AD with MAW and DD.
I find it utterly insane that we had the durability update because people were dying within a split second and completely rebalanced GW and healing because of the base stat buffs to champions just to buff everyone's damage higher than it was before.
are you stupid? full ad/ap was just the name of the series. First video on the playlist is full ad kayn. You ALWAYS built full ad on kayn, what else would you build??? If you watch the video, you could see that he built infinity edge and berserkers. Almost like the point was to force funny builds.
31:25 "six damage item builds used to be a rare funny thing to make a video on, but now it's actually just the ideal and best way to play the game" this part hit the nail on the head
I started playing after Viego dropped. I’ve never once heard that full damage is wrong or funny, it’s kinda funny to think it would be considered abnormal if you’ve played for longer
@@remoover5420 In 2015 the games used to be around 40-50 minutes ultimately ending after one teamfight. A lot of the time there would be fewer than 20 kills. It was a different experience for sure. I enjoy the more face paced gameplay. But everyone has their opinions.
@remoover5420 If my soul had a neck it would undergoing constant whiplash, it's really weird to be used to older games and protracted fights only for the game to just degenerate into this face roll simulator, its jarring at best and will-sapping at worst, victories don't feel earned, feels like you're punching down, and losing feels like you're being drowned in a lake, and every once in a while a croc takes a chunk out of you, kinda awful.
@@ahero3445 the point is you had to literally hit every skill to potentially one shot. not including any healing or any form of cleanse lol. Now you literally get killed by a q auto from fed rengar
Damage is way too high which is likely due to pro play. If you watch pro play around season 5 - 7, it was very non-scrappy. alot of games would end with sub-10 kills where all the kills would happen around a single baron fight that would decide the game. Riots solution was to encourage more fighting by introducing more early game teamfight objectives like soul and rift herald. This worked. Pro players scrapped alot more but another issue arised. no-one would want to play champions that arent good at early skirmishes since if you lost those early objectives, it often led to u losing the game. So to solve this, riot added more damage to basically everyone.
Doesn't make sense. What encourages fights are as you said objectives - but what does damage changes? It changes duration of times. BUT as from viewer perspective longer fights would be much more entertaining to watch. There would be more ways to show some comebacks, changes of pace in fight etc. But there we get who first oneshots someone. AMAZING. Dota is much more entertaining to watch - fights last longer, people are more tanky in early, mid game. Items are actually interesting - lot's of actives to counter people. And to enteratin interesting fights you have tp scrolls for everyone.
@@zoroter3657 TP in league leads to less fights in pro-play rather than more. Making riskier plays like pushing forward or diving just leads to the enemies just TPing on you and countering it so they don't risk it. thats why tp only works on towers now (before 10 mins)
@@zoroter3657 huh dota is has less league watchers on twitch. So obviously that isnt the case. Damage changes were to encourage more risk and flashy play styles. Now people have the damage to kill people and incentives in objectives. Say what you want but lol is still above dota in terms of player count and viewership. Tons of games have high dps as a caitlyn jhin or if i get to late game decent farm and i cant 2 shot you the game is wrong. Because your playing the weakest role early game and survived to late game. Yes there is twitch who’s decently mobile and has invis but his early game is one of the worst in adc . Tank meta when ever its a thing people complain even worst when people rushed tanks hecarim . Now you had a unkillable fast moving unstoppable unit . With decent damage. Now its fair since hes not stat checking you. If someone is bursting you then there most likely capable of being bursted. This promotes positional awareness tanks dont need that since the time to kill them will take ages even if there cced unlike assasins/ pure damage bruisers. Tank meta is just unfun since nothing feels impactful.
@thefearturkey6944 solution to non tanks building tank items is to nerf their base damage so they have to build damage not nerf the items and make tank and off tank builds largely irrelevant.
@@theSafetyCar lets see most played mythic with a decent wr for belveth is jak shos nerfing he base damage would either destroy her or not matter since shes building on hit and scales very well. Anyways champions like belveth are already weak early game nerfing her base damage makes her clear worse makes her early ganks worse makes skirmishing worse and makes her weaker to invades. Most champs that can build off tank have specific annoying abilities and they often run bork. Irelia another jaksho user if you nerf her base damage shes already bad in low elo. Do we need another azir type champ whos only good in high elo. Most champs that i see building off tank cant afford to be nerfed in there damage department . Mord another jaksho abuser and hes a stat checker he needs high base damage or hes pointless See the problem now with just nerf there base damage. Mord would be trash and hes already a low elo bully nerfing it more makes him not played high elo. Irelia same reason it nerfs it for anyone wanting to play and learn irelia since that champ needs azir levels of commitment now. Belveth needs her clear speed and is already weak early.
@@AlexanderMartinez-kd7cz I don't think so. It's messier cause it's more complex. People still hadn't a clue about the game at that time and mechanical skill was also so much lower. Game in itself is also much faster (gameplay wise and not how long a game takes, CD, windups, more dashes), but majority of people like faster gameplay stuff. I am sure that people are just talking out of nostalgia.
Snowball is nothing compared to old league (season 1-5). Now you can claim a bounties after 2 death, you also go bounties on towers and even when you're getting shit'd on during lane your jungler can come drop an herald and get you both 1 or 2 kills worth of gold. You can be in 10/0 and still get yourself killed in 2sec by some 0/10 carry because of 1 cc. The only thing that actually snowball in current league is the soul drake.
as a veteran the game time average blew my mind, back in the day if your playing in low elo, games would go to 50 min all the time because ppl werent good enough to close out games. It took more skill and game knowledge to secure that win. Nowadays no matter how bad you are the same skill and game knowledge isnt required to close it out.
I actually do not miss the near or over hour long games. The wins were hard fought and if you couldn't carry it was hard to climb (as a person who mained low carry potential champs cause they were more fun, this made climbing hard) (no I do not accept the argument of "you should play hard carries then" argument, I can finish games fast now with my meme champs and have fun, rather than getting outscaled) (I do however agree games can be rolled too fast now)
45 minutes was the ideal game time back in the day cuz it meant you had the opportunity to thoroughly experience every stage of the game and almost every item slot. It would all come down to macro, usually in the form of big teamfights, where you would all have to try your best or else you'd lose. But, even if you lost... it was still fun. I'm not joking. Having big epic teamfights was fun whether you won or lost, cuz you'd have the feeling of "aaah well, they earned it, but I'll do better next game!" Now, you don't get to experience the full game. What's the point of 6 item slots if you never use all of them? Might as well patch the game to have only 4 items. It is LITERALLY a loss of content! And the content is lost on a basis of purely FRUSTRATING factors! So, if the game isn't going to let you play all of it, denying you your fun without your consent... why keep playing it?
Its funny cuz, ive been noticing that not only are damage buffs trending within riot but buffing weak champs instead of nerfing strong ones too. Instead of nerfing jax and fiora they decide to giga buff aatrox and kled so everything balances out, but by doing so the bar goes higher and higher until the point of no return. The amount of buffs is twice the amount of nerfs in basically every patch
because these characters have been way too op for way too long. nerf jax or fiora, toplane pickrate foes down even more. classic riot digging themselves into the void then attempting to climb out by building stairs out of sand.
ye. this is the exact reason i found myeslf not caring about the game one bit. i remember pre s13 that i would plan out my day on how im gonna be the most efficient at league, i would have scheduled macro video sessions, play 3 games max if i already lost 1 game in the day or play 5 games if i won all 4 beforehand, and i would have 1-2 negative days a month and i would beat myself over it, analyzing the games, runes builds, everything, my positioning, timings, everything just in order to get better, and my interest int he game peaked when they releaed durability, and after 2-3 patches, when they ruined the game again, i quit. i ccome back every few months, but at this point i dont even care about what role or champ i play, let alone if i win or not, i run around the map aimlessly for half of my games simply because im just playing the game in the background bc im talking with friends or we are just fucking around in flex..
No, what's actually funny is me having seen for years people complaining about them nerfing strong champions and not buffing weak ones to get in line with the others and now that they're doing it, ya'll are complaining. And know what? When they rescind and change their style to do what *you* are asking. Someone else will complain. Because you guys don't have the answers. All you can do is "feel bad" about something, and then complain, as you have no actual power over the balance of the game. There's no way to satisfy everyone. You will all have to accept that you're just going to be upset for awhile. Truthfully, maybe season 3-4 was peak League, but we'll never get that back. It was before Supports were more than paper mache. I can tell you, definitively, that this is the problem. You don't have to believe me but, those glory days were a result of that and they're never going to go back to making Supports that weak. No amount of balancing will bring that same feeling.
New character designs really stand out in comparison to the older characters. Rather than improve the older characters to reach a similar standard, they just buff their damage because quick and easy. If a character isn't going to have a dash they probably could use extra health or higher ms, other changes that aren't damage to bring them up to the bar. Also pretty sure Naafiri can just kill any of the mages for free with the targeted dash.
just played again naafiri first time... 1500 range point and click ability to 1 shot... adc is fun. if i wanna adc i have to play kaisa that shit is not fun..
@@koroxo1152 mages are just outdated for the game at this point lmao. they have been slowly getting puahed out of the meta for a loooooooong time because of mobility and damage creep
Back in earlier seasons as well, if you were losing lane you could opt to build more defensive first as a priority in the hopes to farm up and come back late. As an ADC main, i remember building hexdrinker, frozen mallet, armor/mr boots over as, and other defensives. Nowadays, you can't do that at all. You have to build full damage and hope for the best because if you don't you will just make the game end faster than it already will. There is no coming back from a losing lane by itemizing anymore.
Yeeeah, right? I remember how fun it was, how many times I built defensive items on Soraka because the other team was focusing me/was very damage reliant. Nowadays, there's no build variety. You can try something different, but you'll lose 50% or more of your champion's kit.
false. you just cant sit back and do nothing in hopes you stat check your enemy. Defensive items are def still useful..they just require more skill to make use of.
Main problem is item spikes of champions is much faster now then back in the day. Games went later because champions like ADC's didn't spike till 3 items while now they spike at 2 which takes away the fun from league. Champions used to be unique and have different scaling. Early game champions were more impactful because carries took longer to spike and ADC felt like a actually late game carry when you made it 30-40 minutes into the game. Games felt more rewarding on all roles and you could impact whether you play to end the game early on early game champions or stall till late on scaler's. Now every game just ends 20-30 mins on average.
@@elia0162most adcs spike with 2 items once they buy mythic. And even the first buy is a massive spike for a lot of adcs now. Much bigger than it was before the new mythics. And honestly if you're not able to get to 3 items in 30 minutes you probably need to cs better.
The most fun games I've ever played are 30+ minutes. The nervousness and anxiety of long games made it ubelievably fun. But again Riot finds new ways to make the game suck.
I remember around season 7 you would see pro's setting DPM in games like around 1K sometimes. Now days you can see regularily players getting close to and higher than 1.5K DPM on not just adc's but mages too.
i'm really glad someone is still doing long term videos i swear to god tiktok and other short-span media has damaged attention spans of a generation beyond repair also season 6 is peak league in my (gold/plat hardstuck) opinion
You can dodge aatrox's first 2 Qs but hits the last one and now you have half hp and now he ults and you're dead, to make it worse you were under your tower. It feels like your not rewarded for dodging damaging abilities but you can be rewarded for missing majority of you abilities.
That is a blatant fact. Whenever I play Riven into Aatrox, he literally misses his first two Qs, but because Riven can only do damage in melee, tanking Aatrox's 3rd Q, even with Riven's shield, would mean that your Fast Q combo would not be an even trade. Aatrox would either result with the same health as you, and you landed 7 attacks (4 AAs and 3 Qs) while he only landed 1 (3rd Q sweetspot).
@@zerosam5541 In today's day and age, that is unrealistic, even though it holds true in a 1v1 scenario. Most Aatrox players like to group with their team in order to 1v9 penta draintank in a way Riven simply can't do as efficiently. Case in point, he's simply better than Riven for most of the game (even lategame since his teamfighting is so much better and more efficient).
Try when Garen runs you down past your mid, support and a tower on him kills you as you're doing shit damage with 5 damage items as an adc, then get out with half health with only 4 items. That was the last game of League I've played and that was about a month ago. Don't think I'm going to go back anymore.
For a while now I felt like fighting in League is comparable to a fight in Dark Souls or something like that. No matter how much u dodge or "play safe", one mistake just kills you with little to no chance to counterplay, especially against some champions. Amount of dashes or skills like that make it look like some fight in Sekiro or anime, exept that you are the side character when playing older champions. I know that it is most likely skill issue, but I am a casual player and I dont care about ranked, I just want to enjoy some older champions once in a while, but truth is that it becomes harder and harder, if not impossible sometimes :/
Remind me the time i used to be a otp annie, back when she was considered "S tier" with the e mov speed buff,i wont lie to you, that e was disgusting in lane, but does that make her strong outside of lane?? No,she was still absolutely garbage, you miss your r and now you are not a champ anymore, heck sylas is a better annie than you are since his ult scales yours by 125% ap ratio while yours is 80% ( i think),she gets poked down,25% of games are lost due to not your skill but ennemi picked lb and now she bush traped you and double w'd you and now you're dead and ennemi get baron and its lost since annie wave clear is non existent,rn she only have one build only (liandry, rylai) and if you go any other build, you are griefing your team
except dark soul bosses dont have attacks that hit 100 percent of the time and you are given the tools to deal with them. in league, if you are not playing the 2023 meta assasin mage anime god character that builds lethality or the new adc items you die instantly to some point and click dash or long range autos. this would be akin to fighting dark souls bosses with 2d mario controls.
Nah not a skill issue. It goes back to what Hashinshin was talking about. Previously if you had a slower champ you'd be compensated by being tankier. Now you just get dashed on by 5 champs some of which have multiple mobility skills and die instantly. I think they are just catering to zoomers with ADHD at this point.
"No matter how much u dodge or "play safe", one mistake just kills you with little to no chance to counterplay, especially against some champions." This is really what it feels like a lot of the time. And it is fucking soul crushing sometimes. Especially if your opponent can afford to make a bunch of mistakes and you're simply just not able to punish them because of the champion (yes, this is sometimes something as simple as skill issue, but still).
No other company could ruin their game so much and dissapoint their playerbase time and time again to this extent and still not be unanimously called out for their many faults. It's baffling how there are some people that are still willing to give Riot a benefit of the doubt about them actually being customer-friendly or giving a shit about the community.
I quit league almost 2 years ago (starting December). I can only talk from my own experience, but this game has a really special way of making you a slave of it. I played the game for 10 fucking years and I think I enjoyed like less than half of it. You think that you want to play it, but you are just so used to playing the game everyday so you just do it. Quitting was the best gaming decision of my life. There are way too many incredible games out there to be stuck playing league every single fucking day. I still love to watch League esports tho and I might even return to play casually some day. But fun has to be the motivator for that
Playing league besides other games is atm the biggest problem for me. Somedays I only have 2 or 3 hours to play, thats why I usually then play league because I think for triple A titles I might need more time.
I can relate, but my problem is that my brother has LOL installed (he's like me and now plays WOW) and sometimes I have the stupid idea to play it once, and ye after 1 game I realise how bad this game is (only great thing about it is the lore) the game is BAD BAD BAD, Moba's are dead.
@@Basor011 Absolutely. Firstly, whatever you do, do not just substitute league with another dogshit liveservice game like Fortnite, valorant, OW2 etc. Liveservice games are misery factories. You don't have to cold turkey league, just don't replace it with another "drug". There is a big chance that you have missed a genre defining masterpiece, so firstly I would seek one of those. Be it Witcher 3, Bloodborne, valheim, baldur's 3 (etc). Then force yourself to complete that game. A lot of this comes to personal preference, but here are some games that I recommend all the time: Celeste, Dead cells, RDR2, All fromsoft games, DMC5, Hades, Ace attorney games, Northgard, Ori 1-2, V-Rising,
durability update was the biggest gaslight in lol's history, they made everyone tankier but then made pretty much everything deal more dmg so it didn't even matter.
I love you too Hash !!! I love your long videos where you just talk. League has gotten to a point for me where discussing it, has become more enjoyable than actually playing it.
As a newer player. I uninstalled at level 50, I lost 16 out of 20 games in 2 days. I was getting pub stomped every single game, and carried for 4 by lucky matchmaking. The game is dog piss for new players, I started getting angry in real life when people asked me normal questions... so I uninstalled.
I think if you play aram, it is the biggest tell that the damage is too high. The ammount of times if you re melee that you lose half of your hp for just walking up and then and you look at your death recap and you die to 1 auto and 1 ability from 3 different champions in the early game where dmg is supposed to be lower
I play a lot of Aram and can see this as well. N Very few use meelee and most of the games you play against pokers, but in this case, warmogs really shines.
Funny thing is we've come full circle in terms of ARAM meta. At the beginning of its existence, guess what melees weren't tanky enough and any poke champ was completely broken. If you had 5 pokers it was a free win. They had to buff melee champs resistances and introduce snowball to balance it out a bit specifically in aram. With the constant increase in damage we're starting to see a circle close on itself. It's really not fun to play melees in aram cuz you just get oneshot more and more.
@@goldenarmour7975 actually 5 pokers not actually a good team comp in ARAM. One single tank with hard cc like malphite hold his ult could zone out the entire team and make it's really hard to land skillshot on the enemy team. Unless you have a kai'sa. That champ in aram is bullshjt
@@JohSebBac at the beginning of ARAM I can tell you with great confidence that 5 pokers was the best. A malphite wouldn't get to lvl 6 without a serious advantage going in favor of the enemy team. That's how it was back then. I'm not saying 5 pokers is good now but it is damn close to it and starting to look like it.
I feel like a lot of people quit when Dunkey did, like the points he brought up in his videos resonated with a lot of people and LoL only got worse from there with both complexity creep and lack of rewards for doing well. In other words it became a harder game to do well in, and rewarded you less for doing well.

Damage climbs just like inflation affects money. A champ underperforms and gets buffed. This causes other champions related to that role fall in performance so they get buffed. And on and on it goes. The only way to balance a champion without increasing damage would be to nerf all the other champions in correspondence to the target champ rather than buffing the target champ.
I've got to the point that my league boomer brain refuses to flash and i end up dying, i simply don't expect them to just kill me and i end up asking myself "where did all that damage came from"
Yh saving ur flash or spells for a better fight don't exist at all anymore hell I never seen people back down from a catch even if its a bait one pmebt of times I've got a hook of on thresh known it's a bad fight but every1 just insta blows everything no tactics anymore
I quit League 2 years ago; definitely one of the best decisions I've made in my life. I would waste so many of my hours doing jack-shit but playing the game and ignoring my studies/social life, even though I couldn't even have fun playing the game anymore. Even since then, I've played other games and got my life back together. It sounds like I'm being dramatic, but people really underestimate how a gaming addiction can ruin you
Games like league are a trauma bond too. You have a good game and a bad game and a bad game and another bad game, and you're just itching for that one game to be good one. It's entirely possible to play this game without being addicted to it. But it's also quick, easy comfortable. You're drawn to it out of boredom too. It's just that kind of game. I played DotA 2 as well, and honestly DotA 2 is a better game. You're satisfied with 2 or 3 matches. They're actually fun, good back and forth, an interesting map to play on, and phases to the game that actually last a good amount of time. League just has you coming back for more abuse. It spits on you one game, and then pats you on the back the next.
I have been pushing for you to do more long-form podcast style content since your incredible Beyond the Rift episode (which was by far their most successful episode in the shortest time). You are literally made for this kind of content. Keep it up Hash!
Rito: "Damage has gotten too high, so we've done a sweeping increase to the durability of every Champion in the game." Also Rito: "We're increasing damage to compensate for the increased survivability of Champions."
Itemization in league is downright hilarious coming from a dota player, you either itemize full AD or full AP or you're not playing the game. There's no item buildup, the lethality build every single assassin buys literally just buys 40 longswords
Best shown would be nasus, since season 6 he has been slowly being buffed again and again, pretty much on every single ability. This is also because his items have never changed either so it wasent power creeped through them, he always went sheen into tank items and still does till this day.
Fun fact: I played since Season 4 and I just played a game against Orianna this morning circa 2023 where an Orianna ulted three people and Historically, Orianna ulting is the setup - no no no She ulted **and three people died** What the fuck Riot.
I think the damage creep is caused much more by items getting more and more damage, both stats and actives/passives, while getting fewer defensive stats. Especially since they increase everyone's base tankiness in the durability update, the stats that items give are even less relevant, amplified *even* more by the deminishing returns on all tank stats.
They turned lol into a Battle Arena game. They removed the progress/strategic aspect to make it easier for noobs. Now it is a childish game with pressing your keyboard and having no cooldowns. Riot's greed to make it popular destroyed their game.
revert BORK nerf the crap out of dusk blade nerf LDR nerf GhostBlade nerf Liandry nerf the crap out of lethal tempo add atack speed back into adc items and reduce overall damage of said items buff grevious wounds buff shield-reduction items buff armor items slightly buff magic resist items or better yet:revert the item rework mfs can't balance the CHARACTERS right and had the ideia of balancing, changing and creating NEW ITEMS all together resulting in the absolute MADNESS the game has become but for that to happen the balance team has to say for the first time in their dammed existence "we fucked up" and we know that just can't happen
You know, when I think about it, it's crazy that I began following Hash when I was in middle school and I still do haha. I've stopped playing League a while ago but I still enjoy your takes and hearing your opinions about anything really.
It feels like call of duty ghosts vs like Halo. Time to kill being so high in the first that noobs just blast you before you have time to react, but in halo you can take damage, turn and kill them if you are betting with your gun, or find some cover. In league coming back feels impossible because you have to actually shutdown the fed guy on the enemy team, who can just use his shutdown to force your team to group to survive and try to claim it, but then he just goes and takes more things off the map solo. It seems like no matter if you are a bruiser standing in melee range the whole time, any other class of champion can beat you as long as they have gold or level on you, that’s how snowbally it is.
Morgana's W mana costs are the same as they were back in V1. My point with this is that there are so many other ways to buff champions aside from more damage. Why not make Skarners E projectile wider and travel further but have a weaker slow early game?
I was literally thinking about this yesterday. The whole durability update was OK, for about 3 patches. I think damage is now higher than before the durability patch, I don't know how they have done it but I think its just them buffing damage for no reason instead of buffing other components of a weak(er) champion.
One of the biggest things to happen in Season 9 was an outcome from season 8, SKT vs JAG and the longest game in League of Legends Professional History at 94 minutes. They wanted to accelerate the game so they started to take out sustain options, then they added in early game objectives, but this unfairly favored the early game champions, so they buffed scaling champion low level damage, but this made them demonstrably better than the early game champions who got a slight buff to the late game champions, and then you end up where we are.
When I tell myself I want to climb today it holds like 3-5 games, and its not about winning or losing, I had times where i went 4-0 and still didnt feel like playing more ranked, I found myself rather playing Aram with friends because it just didnt feel miserable. Im 25 and I felt like I play a bit worse then when I was at my peak at high dia 3 years ago, but I quickly realized that I dont really play worse, any small mistake gets you killed in 0,3 seconds, it did not use to be like that. I know that I could easily do master if I put in some time, but I really dont care tbh, to a point where a lost aram with friends feels a lot better then a won ranked.
I think some of the damage creep actually comes from bad champion designs that have come out over recent years, not that the champions in question don't feel 'cool' to play but the fact that these champions altered the way in which other champions needed to coexist was never really explored in the design of some of these champions until an after thought Orianna formally was the only champion with her kind of set up with R, now she has to contend with Asol and Rell who both have merit to doing the same mid/late game role in team fights but with way more value else where in kit. Some of the cooler champions to come out over the years have really pushed the limits of game health, Zeri feels cool to play but her design is cancer for the game in general, currently she is on life support along with yuumi because designers didn't consider the long term impact of how Zeri would interact with other champions in the game. Zeri is the most notable example of recent but not the only one, we have many champions that are held together by sticky plasters and bandaid hot fixes. Personally I'm not happy that Riot ignored the problems with Yuumi in the rework and instead just gave her a passive that is supposed to prevent her being proactive or making choices, didn't even consider revisiting her W or untargetable uptime. They release rework Yuumi and then within a few months she is nerfed back to the same state she was left in before the rework, even if you hate Yuumi imagine waiting half a year for a rework to having put back on life support within months! we won't see it revisited now ether because in Riots eyes its been "done"
@@CcReap3r But we all know Riot will NEVER do that, Yuumi is far too popular and also a profitable champion for riot to ever remove. We can all say we wish for the impossible but I'd rather hope on something that is in the realm of possibility, I think what I suggested is the only way Riot could truly keep yuumi in the game without her being a constant balance nightmare. Right now the issue is the same as it was before rework= very little counterplay other than riot nerfing her numbers so much that there was no reason her being in the game in the first place
You know what's funny. I always quit league, but watching u always makes me wanna play again xD. I personally quit because I feel like my wins are from an algorithm not so much my performance or teams performance it's just if riots matchmaking algorithm wanted me to win. There are some outliers where u can still win when you were meant to lose, but they are incredibly rare.
Better watch what you are saying, cause even though riot admits to trying to make win rates 50%, and even though they patented the technology they use to do it, people will still call you crazy for even thinking winner and losers ques exist lol
Just my anecdote but my last 2 ranked games all lanes were winning but one and that guy raged, went afk and we lost... Now I only play arena, flex/norms with friends or TFT
i think a huge problem in the game is often not talked about at all. riot does not know how to balance tanks and it completely ruins every other champ because they have to build to be able to kill a tank that does as much damage as they do. i often times say that riot should make tanks like they are in smite. smite tanks do absolutely shit for damage, but they're practically unkillable and provide a shit ton of utility for their team. tanks are ruining league, and nobody talks about it enough
One of the primary issues is that if tanks have too little damage they literally cannot solo lane against bruisers/juggernauts/duelists. Which relegates them to only support which is frankly not fun, since support as a roll feels so fundamentally different to every other roll that it feels like a different game to some people. Oh and when all tanks are good in jungle everyone thinks pro play is fucking boring, so again with no damage most would be forced into support roll. Additionally, Diver class fighters do a lot of the same things as tanks but also have overwhelming damage, so they make cs'd tanks obselete unless the tank has decent damage themselves. Also Divers abuse tank items often and get said items nerfed without the Divers losing access to their full damage builds, so it's almost always a pure loss for the tanks when such a thing happens. Maybe tanks need auras? Well, that would give them useful utility, but would do nothing to help them solo lane or jungle and furthermore, there would be no counterplay to an aura besides "kill the tank faster" which would functionally necessitate similar patterns of overwhelming tank shredding being present in the game. What about more crowd control? Being chained cc'd for 10 seconds after one mistake pisses people off a LOT and would be toxic in bottom lane where obligate support tanks would just go ham, cc for 10 seconds, and get their carry partner easy kills. In a lot of ways, tanks are just lumbering juggernaut champions with no true magic-damage bruiser items that let them scrap the way AD bruisers do, and so the result is that they either get lots of silly defense-to-damage scaling, or, they become obsolete. I wish I knew what the actual solution was.
@@oinkleberry i think they actually just need to turn down tank damage and reward champions for being tanks other than "having 10k hp and can one shot squishies". there are ways to balance it, riot just actually doesn't try. we've seen it for the nth time now that because riot can't balance tanks or bruisers, everybody's else damage goes up and nobody has fun except for tanks and bruisers. i'm an assassin main and there's zero reason i shouldn't be able to kill an adc that's behind in xp and items because of the damage in the game right now.
I have been playing this game since season 10. I remember playing some matches for like 1 hour something a lot of times. but since season 12, after playing almost every single day, i have not had a single match that would be played for that long. Its just crazy how games can't even last that long because you just can't survive the damage.
Been playing since season 5 here, the amount of mechanical skill required for a kill has dropped immensely, items really make the game boring, half the time the enemy champion(s)' items deal more damage than they do, that's not how it should work at all. Plus you have Rylai's abuser champions like Swain and Mordekaiser who perma slow you for 30% so they can hit all their "skill"shots for free, removing literally all the required skill and visible counterplay those champions have. Wp Riot.
How the hell do they even justify current lethality items, they literally remove almost all armor to where I’ve seen zed 100 to 0 full tank item players and saw a lethality Caitlyn 100 to 0 people with ONE ultimate only, no other damage…
Here's what's wrong with Riot Games: 1. Balancing team 2. Wokeness 3. Worst client global 4. Didn't use LoL IP for Valorant (imagine playing Caitlyn in an FPS, well known characters bring in fans) 5. Didn't release Wild Rift on consoles 6. Didn't use Wild Rift models for LoL VUs League is dying and Riot is the killer.
For Orianna, the reason her damage is going up because her champion design sucks into all this mobility, so they increase her damage instead of reducing mobility champion releases. Poke champions don't work with little chips of damage like they used to, they now need to nuke your HP bar to be relevant.
i have been playing since season 7 and i have been thinking the same thing, everyone builds full damage and everyone oneshots. This is getting so boring
I've seen this (and had) discussion before in SMITE and I've always said the same, there is infinitely less skill in a one-shot meta than there is in low damage metas. The ability to one shot isn't a skill its a stat check, every single goddamned champion's preferred build being full damage because Bruiser builds and Tanks are so undercrept they cant handle the damage is a sad state of balance... BUT they shouldn't do another Durability Patch thats just throwing a band-aid on their braindead balance and design, they need to legitimately take the time to remove the damage buffs on both items and champions that they've done within the last 2 seasons.
I hate when the champs that actually do go full tank can't still somehow outdamage you because of either the busted base damage or the fact that a decent amount of the juggernauts have percent health damage
i call this the renata glasc theorem, the better she is, the higher general dmg is , you know how she got released and was good then went to shit tier the moment the durability update hit?, ppl didnt have the dmg for her w and r to work as well anymore, but recently ppl been picking her up more often, and she works wonders bc of the dmg comming back. pov from a support main, think you are 100% right.
playing less and less league myself, and i also just complain about the ammount of damage there is. being a tank main it feels so bad getting killed in a dive with low agancy on my hand. i remember i hit lvl 28 when thresh was released
I think Zoe was the start of it all. Game just didn't seem that fun after that abomination got released because everything just needed more and more damage to match up with the offscreen oneshot burst.
Funny how that used to be a thing with Nidalee back in S2-3, until they nerfed the hell out of it because of how annoying it was. Nothing like getting one shot by a spear you just glanced for half a second only for them to release a champion based on that playstyle...
@@xmalin1 I haven't played league in years but good to know that old habits die hard. At least it's not as fast as it used to be (the spear). I'd assume that cougar form Q one shots as well.
As someone who's quit a couple of years ago, and pretty much just plays arams otating modes maybe once a month - it was one of the best decisions I made as a gamer. I found so many better games to spend time with friends in.
as a tank main league is just not as fun as it used to be. I still play it to kill time and I still get some satisfaction from it. Been playing it for years and have a decent amount of time and money invested in it. The new game mode was fun for a couple of weeks and the community has slightly improved. As long as you keep you score around even most people won't flame. But as a tank it is hard to play your role now. When you engage you best options is to hope you can waste a few of the enemies abilities before they kill you or try to keep the enemy off your carries long enough for your carries to kill them as the enemy team just ignores you.
I have a squad of high diamond, masters and some challengers friends now we've been playing aram only and it has been 2-3 years, game is basically who oneshots who right now
I agree that the damage is high for sure. But some champions like cassio/ryze/aurelion that were building rod of ages into archangels felt quite tanky. But as a lillia main i do feel frustrated when i need to go melee range to mark+R a person and just die before the sleep even finishes animation. Demonic doesnt feel like it gives any tankiness and when i reach 3 items and buy a "tank" item zhonya. It feels like the champions in the game have so much damage that the zhonya is just there to be invulnerable until the sleep finishes cast. But imo the main reason for people quitting isnt the gameplay its still the toxicity and the painful game experience. As a 9 to 5 the game doesnt reward you for anything. All the game revolves around are wins and LP. If i dont really care about my rank there is no other reward system for playing the game. If there is a toxic player that is griefing the game, you still need to try your best to win. It's like being in a customer service job. A mean customer with no respect whatsoever needs something and u still need to do your best for him because thats your job. But at least at your job you make money. And in league for sitting through that pain of a game, not typing back and keeping cool mental the only reward that you get is LP. I feel that most rant videos are focused on punishing bad players instead of rewarding good ones. Like make a social score in the game or something and make people get more LP from wins and less LP for loses for being well behaved. Or priority queue with people of the same score. Make some alternative rewards to LP to make people more interested in playing the game rather than winning and ranking. TLDR give alternative rewards to make people forget about LP, get rid of toxicity or reward well behaved players and only then focus on gameplay coz its not that bad.
This is why I turned myself into a coop vs. IA player. You can enjoy the gameplay, talk to chill people and have fun testing different items and shit. Playing ranked doesn't have meaning anymore. It's just a stress factory for skins that aren't well made and are easier to get.
People quitting because when you play ranked one of the lanes just feed crazy.. ex. Top lane go 0/11 or bot lane 0/22 in 10mins.. you cant just carry. It happens too often at one point you just get sick of it.
I've been in love with the control mage playstyle and punish the enemy midlander by control the wave, defend turret and help with objectives if possible. But right now, control mage is unplayable with how much damage everyone has. It is close to impossible to even outwave assassins, and outwaving them doesn't actually do anything anymore. They will just use their early-mid to gank other lanes, and it's much harder to defend their ganks too. Basically there is no room for a scaling ap mage in the game anymore.
I was playing Orn, I had 6k hp and built full tank, they were full AD so I built full armor resist. In a team fight I lasted 6 seconds as a fking tank in a 5v5..............
I foresaw this with the addition of Eclipse. It's arguably good for any AD champion. The shield just does it's job too well and leaves little room for the enemy to land a well timed rebuttal.
Divine sunderer absolutely pisses me off. That item is so strong I'm surprised people didn't buy it all the time. IDK if it's changed in the last half year, that's the last time I played but my god whoever designed that item was smoking some real good crack that day.
@@truckywuckyuwu I tried divine sunderer on yorick support a few days ago from being auto filled, and I was doing half the adcs health with one auto Q using sheen only lol.
i remember when the durability pach dropped and i was playing swain top vs nasus and we started a fight both ulting and both teams coming to help us and he got to ult a second time before the fight was done. it was such a nostalga trip to the old days of league. it was the most fun game ive had in league in a long time
I still remember a pro player in season 10 quitting league and saying in his Twitter post " no company should ask the players to give a shit about the game when the company itself doesn't" and every patch this statement is getting more and more true . Random buffs and nerfs/ damage is so high you get 1 shotted at level 5/ jungle is so fucking broken for no reason. Nothing makes sense in this god damn game
arena is a pretty good way of showing this. every meta champ is either absolitely unkillable or will oneshot you without exception (while being invincible). you start the match, get into a fight then instantly die leading to you wondering where all that stun came from. incredibly fun mode but god i hate the picks.
I remember playing Shen and Irelia in season 5 and actually build into tank for second, third and fourth item. Fought enemies toe to toe and actually turn the tides after 6 minutes of skirmish, it's wild nowadays Irelia and Shen could one tap you into oblivion. Irelia is understandable since she was reworked into a more high damage and high skill champ but Shen is still a tank tho.
Shen's damage is too much early. He basiclly statchecks you, especially with empowered q. If you have a divine sunderer champion or any bruiser/range champion. After 1/2 items he cant even sidelane unless rly far ahead. Used to be a shen main. Rn only game i had actually fun was when enemy had 3 tanks and i could build divine. They couldnt kill me, i could but it took a time, untill vayne/aurelion came and oneshotted me through 3 tank items. Only thing shen has in mid/late is his ult, taunt/ taunt flash and w, but only vs aa champions. He can buy mby 3-5 seconds for carries and if they dont do anything in that time period its kinda sad.
I think there a few more important factors in league that contribute to all this. Runes primarily, but also some questionable item designs. You get a lot of stuff for little investment nowadays, like sustain/lifesteal or tenacity. And this kind of stuff creates a lot of problems. The current state of mid-lategame sustain/lifesteal makes poke/siege comps basically unviable and Warmogs a funny joke item, cause its just unnecessary. A single vamp scepter in lane can sustain you really hard, especially in melee vs melee matchups. And with everyone picking up tenacity for "free", CCs got gradually buffed over time.. cause yeah, its very common I run around with over 50% tenacity. But if you dont have that, most CCs are basically OP vs you, cause they have been consistently tuned up. ANd now think about it: CC durations have been tuned up - or at least not down - while damage has increased massively. You die quicker AND are CCd more or the same as when you died much slower. This gives more of those "no agency" situations.
used to be Diamond I every season since like S4. I quitted around 2019. The game was a mess with the damage, it was just dumb. I came back briefly during the Ruination event because well, I really liked Yorick as a champion and was fond of his Lore, expected him to play a part in the event... and they forgot about him. Besides that insult, I vividly remember playing like 3 games and getting absolutely one-shot by several champions including the newly released Simp King, completely ignoring defenses and blowing people up. It was idiotic and I quitted again until this split started. Game feels... bad. It's not the League I grew up with, It's still somewhat fun, sometimes. But It's a mess. There's no teamfights anymore, just a series of very fast deaths.
Ironically they are the only class where it's probably appropriate right now to do so because they are currently trash mages. Everyone else however is out of control. Even tanks have defense-to-damage scaling so astronomically high it frankly feels comical.
It feels so dumb, tbh. I'm an Enchanter main, I like playing them because I enjoy the utility, I don't really care about doing the damage myself. There are specific champions that do both, it doesn't need to be the direction that balances the class After the last Phreak video, where he discusses the potential "right" direction for the class, and then Milio Q being the center of his buffs, I'm kinda disappointed with the game.
All legitamte resons to quit this game; - DMG creep (Every champ is somehow an assassin, except AP assassins..) - Tencent, I will not elaborate. - Skill expression being removed more and more every few patches. - Riot fixing winrates (it was never really a huge problem until they made the game overly noob friendly) - Tencent. - Forcing new Skins/Cosmetics every single patch > Game Quality/Bug Fixes/Actual Balance Changes/Literally Anything Else. - Creating a near state of marshal law via over policing in game behaviour. - Did I mention over policing your in game behaviour? - Both the criterea and punishements for in game behviour are way too extreme. - 'Punishment Loops' for in game behvaiour, you can be system muted/chat restricted/suspeneded/etc for the same instance of 'offense' more than once. - Tencent. - Champion release rates are way too high. - Champion kits are being released with enough inside them to be considered 2-3 champions. - Visuals (personal pet peeve, this isn't a mobile game, why is it starting to look like one) - Riot does not live up to their promises or claims anymore. - Tencent. - Items decide too much. - Surrender votes are no longer an actual majority, ruining your game experience, even though you punished for possibly ruining even one other persons game experience. - Games are just aram. - The company had too many people leave and split the rest amoung too many seperate projects that aren't league. - The minority of crying temporary players on twitter have too much power. - The method that Riot 'balances' is so flawed it's not funny. (Phreak, you're just wrong). - The problems are never directly addressed, Riot dances around problems. - In game content, Trailers, Maps, Songs, everything, garbage. It never used to be. - Riot support is no longer helpful. - Riot created an atmosphere that's made it very clear they don't care about the individual player. - Tencent. There's so much more, but this game is defintely in a state of maitnence mode. And if it's not? then Riot's really showing they actually have a combined 1 whole year of experience.
The new distribution is a big part of it, in my opinion. The old distribution had large numbers of players clustered together because they had similir skill but now there's just insane skill disparity.
Riot has never addressed the issue of so many elo inflated players in the mid-high elo range. So many players have been boosted over the seasons. All it takes is a smurf duoing with someone on support enchanter to boost them many tiers above then when they play alone they ruin hundreds of games.
All new champs have 12 abilities per ability and they almost reworked the fun out of every old champ to be the same way. Am I really the only one to think that?
I've played this game for a decade now. On and off of course. Over the last 5 years i've taken longer and longer breaks or outright skipped seasons. Sometimes me and my buddy go through a 1/3rd of a season now before we stop playing. The Mythic system really screwed the balance of this game. It's never been able to recover from the damage that update did. They increased the amount of champions they add and just made it harder for their team to make proper changes. People blame toxicity and want Riot to increase punishment. The game itself BREEDS toxicity because over time addicted players get continuously more frustrated and more happy to just hit that Exit than to finish some games. Why? because Riot LOVES fucking the game state up all the time. Sometimes i get the urge after a few weeks or months to play and it's like i never left from the same shitty patch.
I remember playing AD shaco before season 11, and then, I could actually 1v1 not just ADCs, but almost anyone. I remember playing darius before season 11, and then, I could actually teamfight and not die in 2 seconds even though I have a half AD half tank build. I remember in season 11, I, a shaco main with 300+k mastery points, jumped on a caitlyn, we both had 3 items and boots, both full hp, I actually hit her 3 times with hail of blades, smited and ignited her, threw E, and SHE SURVIVED THAT and killed me. she did not outplay me in any way, she just tanked my full combo, E'd me and autoattacked me to death from range. what the fuck. needless to say I quit in S11. McSushi1 Eune opgg
For me the consequence of all these changes is the loss of adaptation in several ways. Topplaner: I remember a time when buying a defensive item had importance and impact on the map, you knew that you couldn't kill your opponent unless he made a big mistake and he knew that these chances of killing you were low for the same reasons and the solution came from the jungler if he wanted to unlock the toplane he had to come. Which brings me to the point following the short therm/long therm strategy. the second no longer exists or almost. I was the type of player who adapted these items to the situation, certainly it didn't always work but that was where my satisfaction came from. To have properly gauged the situation, to have made the right choices and to be rewarded for it. At the time I remember losing games where I said to myself at the end what a crazy game it was. Something that even today's victories no longer give me. I still watch esports from time to time but I don't play anymore, Riot made the decision to replace the adaptation of the team that loses against the objective rewards "don't bother choosing well take gold be sure to think about the next Lux skin" Nice video! Peace
I've been playing since season 3 and the game I fell in love with doesn't exist anymore. I used to enjoy the grind, but over the years I've played less and less to a point where I don't care about the climb anymore To the point where I only play when friends are on. It's not fun anymore.
I'd argue the durability update was made obsolete after 2-3 patches. Felt like for those patches we could live longer, but didn't take long for them to initiate more damage arms race. Pick becomes strong: buff damage of picks around and nerf pick. Pick becomes weak: buff damage above the other picks and leapfrog them. Cycle continues over and over and over again. Its like, they forgot theres more to the game than just damage. These damage metas become bland because who's the biggest output of it? ADCs. Pro play is literally the ADC show, with midlaners on picks that can change fights to help facilitate it.
The highs of winning feel incredible because you're putting other cocky toxic pieces of shit down but losing 1 game to those people can override the 10 wins you just got
People are quitting league because of the Anti-Paid Account bans. A lot of people have spent money on botted account that just recently got perma-banned, simply because the person spent $1 to get an account past the "I'm literal an idiot and don't have 2 braincells" phase of the game, which is what leveling a new account 1 to 30 is. I don't know a single person who has yet to be banned or chat restricted atleast once on any of their league of legends accounts that actually plays the game competitively. "oh but fishbro I never got banned" of course you haven't, you're level 697 and have been bronze 3 for the last 9 seasons playing for fun, whilst the rest of us grind rank and try to climb the ladder. But for real, the spirit of competition is dying in this game, and the game itself is old as fuck. People just need to move on from it at this point.
I made popcorn, hope this video's gonna be great! I wish you get unbanned uncancelled and everything Hashinshin, you didn't deserve it and i miss your streams
Finished watching and I have to say i do agree with the points, the issue is riot making the game for the most amount of consumers as possible. High damage means high dopamine spikes, putting serious effort into balancing the game around skill has been thrown out of the window when riot realized it's potential to make money. And that's on the owners, not the game itself. I love the game, it just met the commercialization fate.
i feel we need a whole seperate mode that allows for a less competetive playing experience arena made me see how different the game COULD be nexus blitz is kinda the same we need this but with a larger map aka a new 5v5 map that is aimed for slower games where laning isnt over until 20 minutes
I think QT said it best begore he quit when he talked about "Oh that killed me moments" just kept increasing. Scenarios that used to be safe now result in death making you go "Oh that killed me"
I have always been slowly losing interest in the game due to the balance but I have also felt just a massive free fall in my interest at the start of the year with all the ADC buffs
@@elia0162 Did this change in the last 4 months? Whenever I see an ADC I get one shot lmao I've had to swap up my go to champions from enchanters & battlemages mid to marksmen so I can keep up.
Would it be possible to add a patch where we lets say reduce ALL damage by like 10/20%? Would that solve the problem? Or is that too complicated? Or just stupid?
5:00 In top lane I preferred the noodle fights because someone can pay attention for one or two trades and not lose but if we have to do 5-8 trades before lethal happens the chances for someone to get skill checked like their dash canceled and die goes up. 100% agree longer fights=more skill.
And then Ornn comes around and claps you in 2 trades lol I've been that Ornn a few times due to being filled top in a friend group who is lower rank and the shit i get away with against some poor unsuspecting Bruiser is unreasonable.
2020 Bruiser Aatrox: Needs to hit Q sweetspots to do damage, need to properly space and time Goredrinker to heal. 2023 Assassin Aatrox: Only needs the last Q and a few basic attacks to kill an adc (he heals like 91 HP after all that)
I like how Veigar's damage was lowered early and increased late. Since his release - q went from 60% to 45-65% w from 80% to 70-110%, ult used to do 120%(+80% of enemy ap), now it does 65/130%-75-150%. What did increase significantly is his range - q used to have 625, now it has 1050), w 900 to 950, e 600 to 725 and his attack range from 480 to 550. So while he doesn't hit as hard, he's almost an artilery mage at this point and is so much safer, letting him dish out that damage much easier and made his laning much safer. I stopped playing ranked (occasionally i play tft or aram) mostly because of toxicity. I only play placement games and take a break. In my most recent placements i lost 3 games due temper tantrums from teammates, one where we might've won if i played better and won one game. In something like Valorant you can win 4 v 5, even if it's obviously harder than 5 v 5, but in League you just can't, unless enemy team is significantly worse. So players who used play early seasons getting older could be the case, but i'd say that's mostly due to game getting worse over the years, as well as more and more frustrating.
Good indicator of damage level in the game are teemo and veigar they are stat checker that get only buffed because the game keep power creeping the damage
You get banned for terrible reasons in league of legends. Duo's will often team up on you and riot will chat restrict you for weeks just for typing fast in chat... its beyond bad at this point.
I'm a veteran (S2) Master / Grandmaster Top laner as well and this season is the one that I finally quit for good to play TFT instead. The reasons you listed might seem cherry picked and "not that big" but god fucking damn are they 1000% correct - especially the Elise / Reksai full range flash vs a tank example hit the nail on the head. I have lost count of how many times I thought "oh I am full HP got a minionwave and have a sizeable lead, I can easily 1v2 this" just to be oneshot by the enemy Jungle, it's ridiculous. Game simply devolved from a strategic dance to an ADHD simulator and I can't stand it
The problem with league as opposed to something like Dota where durability scales with damage stats and there is less of a way to scale abilities. In modern league, abilities don’t fall off. Mages scale, assassins scale and bruisers scale and even supports scale this makes it hard to have interesting interactions and using the utility part of the abilities late game to win fights. Durability was needed because everyone knew that a Jayce can’t one shot you late game with just a brutaliser. Now there is so much lethality that a full tank can’t build enough Armour items to keep up with the flat Armour loss. Consistent damage with ability rotations is not balanced but I genuinely think league got worse when people got a taste of URF. They have slowly started lowering cooldowns, removing mana constraints and increasing damage so league is like a mini urf with a flurry of abilities but haven’t scaled any durability to match the increase. A way to solve the game is making mana a real constraint again, increasing minion damage and turret survivability, decreasing flat penetration from items and increasing tank item gold efficiency and naturally Riot will notice the game is less snowbally and easier to balance.

For me most annoying thing was that basically every patch after the durability patch was nerfs to tanks and buffs to dmg...
like
Riot has dementia or something
they did one patch
and then starting upping dmg even more
like wtf riot
they are making the game more junky for skin selling so if the champion 1 shot they will think they are good at game and buy more (no macro no dodging kill win like FPS)
but this is not how it work as saber said you know it's fun when the noob fined the game enjoyably and that is by practicing to hit skillshot & dodge
you are the best
This is literally S7 again, people leaving because game is too bot lane heavy, then s8 happens again then bot lane will be destroyed
really . then show me gwen's histroy ?? was she buffed or left out ??? from 100% true dmg on her only ability and that is a convert and not ADDed DMG like master yi E !! either . AND AP champ not AD with MAW and DD.
I find it utterly insane that we had the durability update because people were dying within a split second and completely rebalanced GW and healing because of the base stat buffs to champions just to buff everyone's damage higher than it was before.
So goddcking true man its sad
And hash literally called it too when they started that bs damage buffing right after the durability update lol
Durability fucked everything up and unbalanced the game
Rito cannot be relied upon anymore
Worst part is that the whole durability patch probably took some effort, yet the undid all of if in under a season. Honestly baffling.

Mord another jaksho abuser and hes a stat checker he needs high base damage or hes pointless
See the problem now with just nerf there base damage. Mord would be trash and hes already a low elo bully nerfing it more makes him not played high elo. Irelia same reason it nerfs it for anyone wanting to play and learn irelia since that champ needs azir levels of commitment now.
Belveth needs her clear speed and is already weak early.

With how snowbally the game has become you only really get to have fun during laning phase, problem is that you get counter picked 50% of the time
Every top lane champ it seems lmfao
Snowball is nothing compared to old league (season 1-5).
Now you can claim a bounties after 2 death, you also go bounties on towers and even when you're getting shit'd on during lane your jungler can come drop an herald and get you both 1 or 2 kills worth of gold.
You can be in 10/0 and still get yourself killed in 2sec by some 0/10 carry because of 1 cc.
The only thing that actually snowball in current league is the soul drake.

@@mustangcody at some point you could legit even deny exp and have the mid/top laner staying under tower only gaining his gold/sec for like 10min
as a veteran the game time average blew my mind, back in the day if your playing in low elo, games would go to 50 min all the time because ppl werent good enough to close out games. It took more skill and game knowledge to secure that win. Nowadays no matter how bad you are the same skill and game knowledge isnt required to close it out.
I actually do not miss the near or over hour long games. The wins were hard fought and if you couldn't carry it was hard to climb (as a person who mained low carry potential champs cause they were more fun, this made climbing hard) (no I do not accept the argument of "you should play hard carries then" argument, I can finish games fast now with my meme champs and have fun, rather than getting outscaled) (I do however agree games can be rolled too fast now)
Also back in the day there werent so many smurfs around as climbing was so hard everybody tried it on their mains.
Having big epic teamfights was fun whether you won or lost, cuz you'd have the feeling of "aaah well, they earned it, but I'll do better next game!"
Now, you don't get to experience the full game.
Right now games end at 10 minutes
The extra minutes afterwards is just suffering because people refuse to surrender after 5 minutes because bickering
@@dizzyheadsSometimes its over in pickphase.
Also pretty sure Naafiri can just kill any of the mages for free with the targeted dash.
i love it when 99 percent of midlaners/junglers can instakill me with point and click moves jusr because i wanted to play a skillshot character

I remember when Thornmail first item against Darius as top lane Thresh was viable.
Those were the good days.
false. you just cant sit back and do nothing in hopes you stat check your enemy. Defensive items are def still useful..they just require more skill to make use of.
@@khalilasbro that really depends on what champion you play. Nasus is the obvious example. But some champions are literally star checkers, ie. Jax.

The most fun games I've ever played are 30+ minutes. The nervousness and anxiety of long games made it ubelievably fun.
But again Riot finds new ways to make the game suck.

"No matter how much u dodge or "play safe", one mistake just kills you with little to no chance to counterplay, especially against some champions."
This is really what it feels like a lot of the time.

I think if you play aram, it is the biggest tell that the damage is too high. The ammount of times if you re melee that you lose half of your hp for just walking up and then and you look at your death recap and you die to 1 auto and 1 ability from 3 different champions in the early game where dmg is supposed to be lower

Very few use meelee and most of the games you play against pokers, but in this case, warmogs really shines.

Second monitor hash gang! I like listening to your opinions and feelings about stuff. You are bootyful in your own way for sure

He durability update was dogshit. The game was ruined for the rest if the season lol.
The durability patch was a bandage fix to riots inability to make a game where every champion does similar damage

Im 25 and I felt like I play a bit worse then when I was at my peak at high dia 3 years ago, but I quickly realized that I dont really play worse, any small mistake gets you killed in 0,3 seconds, it did not use to be like that. I know that I could easily do master if I put in some time, but I really dont care tbh, to a point where a lost aram with friends feels a lot better then a won ranked.
even winning feels exhausting now lmao arena mode is the way
I think some of the damage creep actually comes from bad champion designs that have come out over recent years, not that the champions in question don't feel 'cool' to play but the fact that these champions altered the way in which other champions needed to coexist was never really explored in the design of some of these champions until an after thought
Orianna formally was the only champion with her kind of set up with R, now she has to contend with Asol and Rell who both have merit to doing the same mid/late game role in team fights but with way more value else where in kit.
Yuumi on release could give 140 MR and 140 armor
You know what's funny. I always quit league, but watching u always makes me wanna play again xD. I personally quit because I feel like my wins are from an algorithm not so much my performance or teams performance it's just if riots matchmaking algorithm wanted me to win. There are some outliers where u can still win when you were meant to lose, but they are incredibly rare.
Better watch what you are saying, cause even though riot admits to trying to make win rates 50%, and even though they patented the technology they use to do it, people will still call you crazy for even thinking winner and losers ques exist lol
Omg same. Feels so disappointing to win when the enemy team has an afk or a troll.
Wp Riot.
Durability Update....
Increased assassin damage....
Made tank items weaker....
Now we need a 2nd Durability Update
How the hell do they even justify current lethality items, they literally remove almost all armor to where I’ve seen zed 100 to 0 full tank item players and saw a lethality Caitlyn 100 to 0 people with ONE ultimate only, no other damage…
Here's what's wrong with Riot Games:
1. Balancing team
2. Wokeness
3. Worst client global
4. Didn't use LoL IP for Valorant (imagine playing Caitlyn in an FPS, well known characters bring in fans)
5. Didn't release Wild Rift on consoles
6. Didn't use Wild Rift models for LoL VUs
League is dying and Riot is the killer.
For me it would be Yasuo, got better for a while, but the game got trashed next season
@@byance97 nidalee spear still oneshots, you just have to have your monitor off to get hit by it max range lol
@@xmalin1 I haven't played league in years but good to know that old habits die hard. At least it's not as fast as it used to be (the spear). I'd assume that cougar form Q one shots as well.
actually true
Unfair matchmaking - u are punished if u play good and you are placed with autofils and trolls
As someone who's quit a couple of years ago, and pretty much just plays arams
otating modes maybe once a month - it was one of the best decisions I made as a gamer. I found so many better games to spend time with friends in.
What games?
as a tank main league is just not as fun as it used to be.
As a Rammus main, I'd like to say I ban you every game. In the nicest way possible, I hate you lol
I wonder why nobody talks about the insanity they call matchmaking nowadays?
There's no teamfights anymore, just a series of very fast deaths.
meanwhile riot is giving enchanters more dmg
Ironically they are the only class where it's probably appropriate right now to do so because they are currently trash mages. Everyone else however is out of control. Even tanks have defense-to-damage scaling so astronomically high it frankly feels comical.
It feels so dumb, tbh. I'm an Enchanter main, I like playing them because I enjoy the utility, I don't really care about doing the damage myself. There are specific champions that do both, it doesn't need to be the direction that balances the class
After the last Phreak video, where he discusses the potential "right" direction for the class, and then Milio Q being the center of his buffs, I'm kinda disappointed with the game.
All legitamte resons to quit this game;
- DMG creep (Every champ is somehow an assassin, except AP assassins..)
- Tencent, I will not elaborate.
- Skill expression being removed more and more every few patches.
- Riot fixing winrates (it was never really a huge problem until they made the game overly noob friendly)
- Tencent.
- Visuals (personal pet peeve, this isn't a mobile game, why is it starting to look like one)
- Riot does not live up to their promises or claims anymore.
Am I really the only one to think that?
old champs were designed for players to find a way to use them, now they are designed to force players how to use them.
McSushi1 Eune opgg
release new broken champ -> nerf its survivability and buff the dmg of old champs to keep up
repeat.
that is the riot flowchart
I still watch esports from time to time but I don't play anymore, Riot made the decision to replace the adaptation of the team that loses against the objective rewards "don't bother choosing well take gold be sure to think about the next Lux skin"
Nice video!
The highs of winning feel incredible because you're putting other cocky toxic pieces of shit down but losing 1 game to those people can override the 10 wins you just got
man good thing i quit before i became a guy who gets high on projecting his toxicity onto enemies
Damage from non fed players are too high, I can understand dying to someone who's fed but the fucking 0/14 Assassin should not fucking 1 shot me.
It’s time for league to make two different patches. For pro play and for us mortals.
i feel we need a whole seperate mode that allows for a less competetive playing experience
arena made me see how different the game COULD be
nexus blitz is kinda the same
we need this but with a larger map
aka a new 5v5 map that is aimed for slower games
where laning isnt over until 20 minutes
I think QT said it best begore he quit when he talked about "Oh that killed me moments" just kept increasing. Scenarios that used to be safe now result in death making you go "Oh that killed me"
I have always been slowly losing interest in the game due to the balance but I have also felt just a massive free fall in my interest at the start of the year with all the ADC buffs
And they are still weak...
Buff them as much as you want, I am no longer playing, I no longer care.
@@elia0162 Did this change in the last 4 months?

@@Jr_North you must be playing another game
if you dont build damage, you just get 1 shot by people who do
Would it be possible to add a patch where we lets say reduce ALL damage by like 10/20%? Would that solve the problem? Or is that too complicated? Or just stupid?
That wouldn't help, Riot's "amazing" balancing team would just start giving everyone and everything more damage AGAIN.
Decrease by 10 then increase tank stuff by 10 but then like every keeps saying they would undo it of that would be viable
5:00 In top lane I preferred the noodle fights because someone can pay attention for one or two trades and not lose but if we have to do 5-8 trades before lethal happens the chances for someone to get skill checked like their dash canceled and die goes up. 100% agree longer fights=more skill.
And then Ornn comes around and claps you in 2 trades lol
I've been that Ornn a few times due to being filled top in a friend group who is lower rank and the shit i get away with against some poor unsuspecting Bruiser is unreasonable.
Can't wait for Hashinshin to join all the other league personalities in the TFT retirement home arc
