    Speedsafe is the name for their assisted opening mechanism, not the lock😉👍. Love my LEEK. Smooth operation. easy Detent and slim.

    One note on the Leek: My Leek is the oldest knife in my collection. I removed & threw away the lock many years ago but I wish I hadn't, because you can just tighten the screw so it stays in the unlocked position without removing it.
    I have had it open in my pocket a couple times years ago, but only maybe twice out of carrying or hundreds of days. It was the only knife I had for maybe 10+ years.
    Overall it's definitely one of the greatest EDC knives of all time according to the reviews & opinions you'll find on it. And for the price, you absolutely can't go wrong with it if you want a compact EDC knife with decent steel & small pocket footprint.
    I think it'd be great if they had a non-assisted version, but the Leek still kills after all these years! 😃

      Yeah totally it's my 5th one. But first with this blade profile. It's definitely a good edc. If I didn't lose the others I gave them away as gifts. Lol

    7:01 Framelock?

    • @levvy001
      @levvy001  Рік тому +1

      Yes, frame lock, liner lock. This knife doesn't have liners betwixt the scales and blade so sometimes I mispeak and call them frame lock since the scale itself is the main source of structural integrity for the knife. Some knives the liner under the scales is the lock. Thanks for commenting

      @@levvy001 yeah, true, it IS hidden. I have a few like that. Framelocks are like a liner lock without scales covering em indeed. Good point.

    No no no 14c28n is not even close to no 400 series Steel. That is a heck of a steel easily the best non powdered Steel it easily competes with s35vn it's super easy to sharpen takes an incredibly Keen Edge holds it quite well and we'll strop back with just a couple passes. It is a mid-tier steel on the price game but it performs with your lower-end super steels. Any of us guys who really love to sharpen at our professional sharpeners really really enjoy that material. If the heat treat is good and it's in 58 59 HRC you have a hell of a blade Steel. It blows D2 out the water is superior 2 s30v and it takes such an incredible Edge that it's just fun to work with. If you drop that steel down to around 13 to 14 degrees per side and and it's fairly thin behind the edge you will have a Beyond scalpel sharp knife is it going to compete with s90v m390 no it's not but with your first generation super steels again s30v s35vn xcetera you have a better Steel in my opinion and that would go for a lot of us guys who are professional-level sharpeners and really know how to make a knife edge perform. The best heat treat in the world on 440 will not compete with 14c28n that has a good ht.

      @ 5:41 I mention that steel and how I felt it performed. But it is more or less rated in that tier of blade steels mentioned. It is a budget steel. And knife sharpeners( including yours truly) do like the ease of it. Also s35vn is just a easier sharpening s30v. But that is my opinion. Anyway You owe me two apologies now. Thank you for commenting on my channel and having more knowledge than most people on the knife subject that I speak with even in person. But maybe take it down a notch
