I've carried a different knife everyday for years, until, the kershaw launch 19 came out! That is all ive carried for 2024! Its like an auto Para3! Its perfect!
Shoutout to the Kunwu Chad for making it in the list! If you know, you know! The Chad is an absolute beast of a workhorse and one of my all time favorites 💯🙌🏼
My current knife interest is fixed blades that are focused on toughness. No moving parts to go wrong and easier to clean. It’s also nice having a tough knife that will easily go through a bunch of zip ties without chipping.
I am absolutely shocked that the Civivi vision fg wasn't on any list this year. Every time I checked the site different models were out of stock and then restocked and then out of stock again. Every knife review video has it as a top 5 knife I don't get it
Kershaw Bel Air is the knife of the year IMO. $150 for aluminum scales, magnacut, USA made and comes with a fantastic warranty that’s better than Benchmade. Excellent for edc and high anti-corrosive.
I bought about 50 knives this year. I bought the Bel Air. I love it. I bought all of the Benchmade knives that were mentioned, and a number of other knives shown today like the Boker Kalishnikov. I like them all. I usually carry two or three knives, not counting my neck knife. My favorite knife was not mentioned at all today. I carry it all the time. It never gets rotated out. Spyderco Endura 4.
That's the reality if you're relying solely on sales. Generally speaking, cheaper knives sell better. Note that a lot of Blade HQ customers are not 'knife people' and as such tend to purchase: a. brand names they've heard of (which means a lot of larger companies with big advertising budgets tend to have an advantage) and b. based on price - esp. at the moment (which means a lot of cheaper knives are over-represented). Circle back, as a knife person I agree with you. Pretty bland.
@@realbroggo Such a snob that you call a list full of benchmades, spydercos, and microtechs "bland" lol. Quite a special breed. You're literally watching a video about the most common knives people buy and you're surprised the average person isn't buying a sebenza?
Gotta be the saddest, most embarrassing, top 10 best selling knives list EVER. Pink and sprinkles and hot dog shape both twice?!? Ffs guys; what are we doing?
Having fun with our hobby...? 🤷♂️ or possibly just gifting them to people who like the colors/designs...? It's okay to take life a little less seriously sometimes.
BladeHQ has made a decision (their UA-cam Channel is proof) to appeal more to the masses and basic consumers vs the knife community that will spend $300+ on a knife. Buying direct through the makers has definitely been on the rise
Getting mad about the color of a knife means you might be spending too much time online friend. Also, those gimmicky looking knives were some of their most sold of the year. Wouldn't have sold much if people didn't want it.
THIS. I don’t think there was a big marketing push for it. I didn’t even realize it was a thing until a couple months back Will be picking one up very soon.
I am SHOCKED that the launch 20 wasn’t on any of these lists. I personally think it’s an amazing knife. I’d say top 3 in the launch series and one of the best things Kershaw’s ever done.
I tried to stay positive as the knives appeared (far too many hotdogs & sprinkles for me .....) but I admit I started to cry when the Gerber Paraframe appeared. One of the worst knives I ever owned - poor materials & poor build quality. Would be better melted down and made into a beer coaster. However, as you stated, it's based on sales, so the numbers are what they are. Congrats to Kershaw, clearly bringing the right products to market at the right time. I own both an Iridium & Mini Iridium and enjoy them both. Kershaw appear to be stepping up their quality which I found patchy in the past. Sharp blades all.
Knife reviewers will always have a better end of the year list since their list is on what is actually the best (in their opinion) and not just what sold the most. More affordable knives, from larger manufacturers are going to win here. They were more accessible due to pricing and availability through greater quantities. This will always be a less inspired list while not bringing attention to less known knives that surpassed so many others in several ways. Winterblade, Null knives, Quiet Carry, Kunwu (glad the Chad got in there at least) easily made better knives than most on this list (That Microtech ZBT is special imo). The people hating this list are forgetting what this list is based on. Blade HQ is a store. They share real products from their store but not always real opinions. I skimmed through the video just to see what the masses were buying and where my purchases stacked up. Honestly there’s a lot I passed on because, again, much better knives made by smaller companies deserved more of my attention and money. Overall a great video!
I can’t think of specific models at the moment, but I’ve seen some double edge knives that one is fully serrated and the other plain: best of both worlds!
While part-serrated and full serrated blades have their uses, they're not really ideal for a lot of everyday tasks. The serrations do not create a clean smooth cut (they tend to tear) and they also tend to get hung-up on some materials which can be frustrating. Further, serrations can be a pain to keep sharp and to sharpen. At the end of the day, it's all about selecting the best edge for the task at hand. If part-serrations work for you - go for it.
Yo bro i really would like to buy knives from you guys but just cant because you dont sell to my country Philippines, do you have any ways or alternatives?
Bought me the dessert warrior Kalashnikov XL and then for Christmas bought me the black widow and my father in law the desert warrior OD GREEN and bronze blade
Not at all. Benchmade has some excellent designs. They get hate for their prices, but Spyderco has frame locks that cost more than Chris Reeve knives that are not even made in the USA.
Actually for me it's less about sharpening (or lack of) and more about working around materials that can ruin a normal blade. I often work with adhesives. The adhesives often end up sticking to blades and are a pain to clean off. With a utility blade you just dump the gummed up razor and insert a new one. It's just nice to have options.
It’s like my kid on Christmas morning, every present was his favorite one 😂😂😂😂 wish they’d get an actual knife maker or someone with a resume in on the channel. It be much more valuable and worth watching like when Ben hosted 😢❤❤
Other than a Wiener Warrior pin(love it) that I bought, I've not bought any "dessert warrior" or any derivatives. I do like calling my pin "Stabby Hotdog" though. (Gave away the sticker to a coworker)
Happy new year. Bonne année. This year i am going to buy : - Vosteed, Micarta Psyop, orange handle Marten. - Kizer, Drop bear 154cm allu handle. Hawk S35vn. - Kunwu X Padre Stone wash. - Quiet Carry Drift large. - Civivi Vision fg. Thank you. By by. ^^
Regarding utility blade knives, I recently learned that they are illegal in Massachusetts! I never knew that before. This when just a few months ago, assisted knives, aka switchblades were, made legal! I am wondering, does this mean that the old fashioned box cutter, a tool ubiquitous in the trades and everywhere, which uses the same blade as some of the new knives is now ILLEGAL (we know they’re illegal on commercial planes, but where else)? We should challenge the law that makes box cutters that work like good folding knives illegal! They are just better variations on something that has been perfectly legal for ages.
