Three, six, nine, the goose drink wine The monkey chewed tobacco on the streetcar line The line broke, the monkey got choked And they all went to heaven in a little row boat
Excellent, my oldest son recently gifted me the very same pistol. He is 27 now and has had some success in his life as a musician. He grew up sharing my love and interest in guns, it’s a past time and hobby we have maintained since he was old enough (around 7). I nearly cried when he slid that box across the counter to me and said it was mine.
Both my kids got introduced to firearms at ages 5 and the other at 6. .22 bolt action rifle to start with. At age 12, each kid got their own Glock (19 for the daughter, 17 for the son) with a letter from me their dad. They learned to shoot, break down, clean and store their guns. I took my son hunting, while my Daughter was never interested in hunting, but now she and her brother are adults with several guns they own. I received a 1911 at age 12 from my dad. At 8 he gave me a .410 single shot shotgun. So the tradition has been handed down.
The only thing I can think of is that he must’ve developed it as an adult. There’s no way even if he doesn’t need his inhaler all the time that he wouldn’t have needed through basic at some point let alone BUDS
Forever grateful. Forever impressed. Forever your friend. I'll never be able to convey my feelings. Thank you for all you do and same to the men/ women you interview. 🇺🇲❤
Here in Alaska children are usually introduced to firearms with rifles. Beyond being easier to shoot accurately, it is easier for the adult to ensure muzzle control. I started on a 22 chipmunk at 5 or 6 years old.
Bro when is this dropping? Also is anyone else blown away by the emergency podcast? Also did you see the police trying to say two letters survived in the car fire? I'm not buying that.
My Navy Seal story, my next-door neighbor was a fifth degree blackbelt in judo at 18 and won a silver medal in the pan American games, trained in Colorado for the Olympics and went into the Navy and was a SEAL. Before he enlisted, he made a harness for his car and had me steer the car and he put the harness on, and we went around the neighborhood for hours so he could build up his quads for running in the sand. when he got out of the Navy, he became an Air Force pilot survival trainer in Maine.
@ Holy cow small world. He was my instructor through SERE in Kittery back in 2015 and i was point man in the evasion period, and he had the gps making sure we weren’t getting off course. He was such a chill dude, and ive never forgot him. I didn’t know all that about the judo, and he told me he was a navy diver, im guessing that was his way of saying UDT.
@7:48 You and me both man. Been trying to get my wife to be comfortable with a gun much less carrying it. It's a struggle. Tried several ladies nights, outdoor ranges, etc.
"Three Six Nine, the goose drank wine, the monkey, the monkey, the monkey chewed tobacco on the street corner line, then the line broke and the monkey got smoked, they all went to heaven in an engineer boat, now did ya hear that? We hear that..." You just brought back some fun memories of basic.
People are probably going to criticize me for this, but the gun that I've had crappy performance from is the legendary Walther PPK (James Bond's pistol) in .380 ACP, it seems to jam a lot, I'm not sure if it's an extractor issue or that's just the way PPKs are.
Awesome but I want to know what bag that is please! I can't find anything that fits right for the broader shoulder guys. Thank you for your service Chris!!!

This was an amzing episode, it makes me happy for our vets that figures out what and who they are/want to do After retirement or dischargment almost every episode i either tear up or cry because they give their all for us and sometimes it takes a piece of themselves literally ive come from a military family my great grandpa went through WW2 and another war or 2 i didnt know too much about what he did when i was grown enough to ask he had dementia or something, as a kid i wanted to be in some armed forces group but the more and more i dug into the "conspiracy theories" and the BS they go through and what the politicians do/cause then the more i didnt want to, then i had a kid, then 2, now about to be 3 after high school i wanted to go in the Marines almost did it but found out about my 1st and i promised myself no matter what i was gonna be there for any of my kids everyday, looks like soon the war will come to our front yard and IF that day comes Then ill go to war with all that being said, i do cry or tear up on these episodes because i dont know what the vets go through but i have an understanding and i am happy when they find themselves everyone says thank you for your service but I say Thank you for your sacrifices, ive watched every episode of SRS and this is MY podcast lol i can say 10 years from now ive seen them all and still watching them, theyre always a life saver LITERALLY when i 1st listened to this show i had "thoughts" but when i hear of some of these stories i know life isnt too hard in America except the economy but who really cares about that would make life easier if it was good, but at least we dont have to go through what they have on the other side of the world, thanks Shawn for a great podcast i means the world to you, but it means Everything to Us.
You gotta get the kid a Red Ryder BB gun, come on now lol. I was shooting BB guns before 10 and 22’s around 11. But after that I didn’t have the ability to shoot, just due to land and not really having a gun range in my area. At least a free one. I still shot BB guns and bows in city limits though lol. Just not at the neighbors houses or in a direction it could hit their property.
Very awesome advice for a beginner like me with a Sigsauer who’s nervous like your wife; although my mom was National Rifle Champion. I believe from articles she was the first girl beating out young men. I’ve handled a 22 at a gun range with my mom as a girl.
I totally agree. I remember they banned handguns in the UK after the shooting at a Dumblane school in Scotland. With everything we know now about governments maybe that was a setup to get guns banned.

Just curious as to when you developed asthma. When I went for my preinduction physical back in the 60's they were taking almost everybody. They needed boys to put targets on their backs and ship off to Southeast Aisa. I had already completed a medical history form. I went through the entire physical at Fort Jackson. At the end you had an interview with a doc. Of course, he noticed I had checked that I had asthma. He said if I really had asthma I would be 4F. He told me to get a note from my personal doc. I asked him why asthma classed me 4F. He said they didn't have time to deal with an asthmatic. Sounded reasonable to me. But as you know an asthma attack ain't no picnic. Anyway, asthma was a no-no. Thanks for your service. BTW, I felt kind of guilty staying home my friends were heading to Nam. When they came back I told them that. Everyone told me NOT to feel guilty and that they wish they didn't have to go.

I used to do Shotokan with a Japanese man and he was commenting on a ballet place in the same mall. Very similar fundamentals with center of body movement "core" and body awareness. That said I used to study classical guitar and when you practice once you learn the piece more or less you want to go 1/2 or 1/4 speed. Why? If you go fast the fastness mask the poor techniques the unevenness lack of body awareness all of which just adds up to poor muscle memory or bad habits. As you slow it done you have to become more aware of your movement and smooth even correct technique and that is how you get efficient removing extra unnecessary movements and crap. That maybe why they call it "Marshall Arts" like other arts, music dance etc. you have to take from the established body of knowledge what works, from those that came before you and once you got the good fundamental then you will see efficiency in motion and speed and repeatability, AKA muscle memory. The young man is spot on and obviously very observant and a deep thinker. Besides what is already know that he is a bad azz dude given his accomplishments.

Lmao you mean “pass time”

Which XL is there only one? I'm looking for a firearm
Bro made it through seal 6 selection with asthma, impressive
The only thing I can think of is that he must’ve developed it as an adult. There’s no way even if he doesn’t need his inhaler all the time that he wouldn’t have needed through basic at some point let alone BUDS

Well that's a rare story that most folks will never experience. Glad you were able to.....thanks for sharing.

I'm not a big Sig fan in regards to MOST of their pistols, but I love the 365 and its been my EDC since 2019.

Wow. Surprised you can be in Seals with Asthma.
