So called LARPer in this case is also akin to unregulated militia, this happened in the Southern theatre of the American Revolution. Nonuniformed militia went out and tortured and engaged civilians in the Carolina backcountry and committed atrocities against one another for nearly no reason, both Tory Loyalists and Whig/Patriot Americans did this.

Also just an fyi I don't know what combat this guy served in but I served in afghanistan 08-09 in Kunar Province. There were plenty of special forces or what we called ODA who did not wear patches. Also in a civil war why would anyone want an identifying mark for what unit they served in? Would that really matter at this point? Also not to mention you would think the owner of this channel would know this but you literally cannot use unit patches in movies without permission from that said unit patch you are displaying. You can wear indavidual rewarded items but that's it

I was going to say the exact same thing. I'll add that Alex Garland is in no way a director known for big budget action films: he typically makes obscure, artistic science fiction films. A24 is a great production company that releases amazing, thought provoking films that are way more on the arthouse side of things than anything released by an entity like Disney. In the end, this is am A24 movie: not a war manual.

To be fair, California and Texas have the most resources other than Alaska. Resources are what makes the weapons, what makes the fuel, what makes ammo. These two states together are the only places that have enough resources to take on the United States Military. Whereas a complete region like New England absolutely would not have anywhere close to enough resources to take on the US Military for more than a few days to a week or so before we run out of things like, for example, gasoline.

Hearing that US forces seldom strip their patches is weird coming from the CAF. I was always taught that, during any action, we are to "sanitize" our uniforms, including taking off our rank. The thought process being that it would hinder the enemy's ability to figure out the units they're facing, and the removal of the rank slip is to hinder the enemy's target prioritization as a sniper will have a harder time picking out unit commanders from random privates and corporals if no one's wearing any identification.
I used to think it was rather dumb, as I didnt think a sniper would be able to tell if someone had two hooks or two crowns through a scope, but after seeing how high fidelity and high magnification the scopes being used in Ukraine are, I definitely understand it now.

About insignia, I found a 30 second teaser for this movie on Facebook yesterday that had a few new clips and one of them shows the glasses guy, and you actually can see a patch on his left shoulder, but the angles shown in this trailer don't show it. It's diamond-shaped and black with what looks like a white skull over something else that's too blurry to make out. Not entirely sure what it's representing, but my guess is either the Florida Alliance or a militia faction not yet mentioned.

One thing to keep in mind about highways in bad zones is that the way out of the zone will be overloaded with traffic of people trying to get out. The way in will be far less populated, but some people might think to use it as a faster way to get out. That's what I thought of with the highway scene. That said, it looks like whatever battle was taking place wasn't just in the area they were fleeing, or they were hit as they attempted to flee. I notice the humvee facing the same direction, so gonna guess clash of forces.
Three term president... Either things have changed in the setting of the movie to allow this, or this is the root cause of the civil war--a president that didn't relinquish the office after his terms were finished, and maybe declared martial law. If they are shooting journalists in the capitol, that suggests to me that DC are the bad guys the states are rebelling against, and the root of the problem.
I take this as it is--a movie. That said, I hope they depict just how horrible civil war could be for all these idiots that seem to want it.

This movie, 2024 “Civil War” Movie opened… April 12th…. The firing on Fort Sumter, 4:00 AM April 12th, 1861. Loved the film. Surprisingly not political. Not much detail why, when, who but that is not the point. The effects of a Civil War… lack of transport, few cars, little gasoline, no law enforcement, no CHP (Highway patrol) , a lot more refugees I would expect. Big Cities need huge amounts of food and goods to be delivered and with little trucking, massive starvation! The 1st CW, the South had huge problems with food shipments breaking down by 1864… worn out trains and military taking most civilian wagons and horses. The South also had local militia and ruffians take over and was dangerous moving around. The most dangerous part in a war (civil or not) is the beginning and the end… when people are settling scores and filling up the mass graves…. Before peace breaks out

Though quite disappointed in the movie, that canada hasn't taken in New England for protection, coolest part in Kaiserreich, having a New England puppet as the Dominion of Canada.

You are making an assumption on air superiority. Jet flying low may because of failure to establish air superiority and a highly capable air defense system. Similar to what has happened in the Ukraine. You can say that because of inadequacies of Russian air craft against air defense. We don't know how well a f-22 will do against a patriot battery or NASAM. Given the distribution of logistics of part that keeps aircraft flying would be disrupted. Most of the production of military aircraft is in the Texas, California and Missouri. How would the United States represented by mostly new England states keep their planes flying or even electronics running for missile systems. You are making mistake about the force operating in a specific way because this is how the US army operates. In a civil war their disintegrations of command structure and doctrine. A rebel force of mostly national guard units, irregulars and some federal forces would act differently. As far as the set up of fob you see in the movie, maybe the result of a highly mobilize event were break though has taken place and the force is on constant move preventing doctrine camp set up. In Iraqi there were tanker and drivers sleeping against the wheels of their vehicle before being told to head out. A movie trailer is not a good bases for judging what actually happens in the movie.

Interesting dose of reality injected into a not well thought out, middling at best, propaganda film.

These are likely the neatest parts of the film, the rest is just propaganda. Election year!

I've tried to give your video a chance so that I don't fall hard into hypocrisy; however, around 5:30, where you are talking about ISIS and the avoidance of legitimizing separatist entities, it is simply ridiculous to continue listening to ANYONE attempt to explain - to suggest - that which is wrong with a movie that you have not seen. YES, trailers and commercials are usually designed to be provocative and, therefore leading and bait-laden. But, what the heck are you trying to accomplish with your video and assumption-based - your cringe-worthy - REVIEW and analysis of (again) an unseen film? Your video is itself, bait. And, it is manipulative. Go see the film. Then, make another video in which you defend or recant your assumptions. Alex Garland is NOT a "Hollywood" film maker. A24 is a New York based, anything-but-Hollywood film distributor. Your video is littered with "I've seen this before" and many other "classic indulgences." You are assuming and assuming. It's sad.

The movie is definitely cringe. Texas would never align with California in a million years, the dialogue is terrible, the director hasn't made a good movie in years, and the fact that it's gonna be released durin' an Election Year is a massive red flag.

That's likely the truth. I BET it's a great trailer and a terrible movie, mostly a propaganda film. All we hear on the news is that Trump will divide, be a dictator, create civil war..although he had 4 years and never did that and ran this country far better than the current puppet zombie. I remember seeing movie trailers that looked this promising and guess what, they ended up being about a guy looking for his wife or daughter..just totally sucked.

This movie for sure isn’t going to paint the military bad or the gov, it’s known the military doesn’t let movie productions barrow military vehicles and planes if the movie portrays them in bad light.
It’s not going to paint leftist in bad ways so the villain can only be one group that is in real life the most pro American people.

It isn't "Ki-ev." It's "Keev." Ki-ev is the Russified version of the city... when they occupied it.

Most who have seen it say it’s excellent and realistic, though the director left the particulars of our political differences out of the movie.
