I’ve literally never met a person who calls themselves an empath and is anything less than the absolute worst and most manipulative person in any room. This Micah chick, Shane Dawson, and unfortunately more than one coworker have all called themselves empaths before being the most catty and game-playing jerk I’ve ever seen. I never believed in the concept of an empath, but I’m starting to think it’s actually a code word for “I understand emotions enough to manipulate them”
I’m with you entirely and hearing it frustrates me to such a degree, I’m a cognitive neuroscientist and I’m telling you IT DOESNT EXIST, it’s not a thing from a scientific perspective
In my experience, these "empaths" are just very good at projecting their own emotions onto other people - they're not actually that in touch with someone else's emotions enough to be affected by them themselves. On the contrary, they are so focused on their own emotions and lack of regulating them that they push that onto those around them
I don't know If I'm an 'empath' but I do really deeply feel other's emotions to the point where it severely impacts my mental wellbeing and I get taken advantage of as a 'therapist friend' because I'm a people pleaser and easy to manipulate and I feel obliged to help everyone
I'm SCREAMING at Jarvis overlooking the evil of Irina and Micah and confidently saying Chelsea would be the instigator 😂 He wasn't wrong about there being a mean Blonde, he just had the wrong blonde.
(The following comments I have are to the season as a whole. Although, I've only seen all the episodes up to the 9th) Yeah, Micah is really manipulative and a pure narcissist. And she is very mentally abusive. Her comment that she hoped that Paul would "comply" in the bedroom was really rape-y. If a man said that, he'd be fucking canceled. Irina was very toxic and gross as well, but she was more like a disney villain. If Zach had ended up with her and seen(when watching the show when it's over) how evil and what a sadist she is, he'd probably hate himself. It's horrifying that she was so manipulative that he didn't see how abusive and toxic she was. With Micah, she is such a narcissist and manipulative, that she'd get away with everything. It's in her nature. And then the relationship with Marshall and Jackie. She was disgusting to him, in complete denial about her mental problems, and he was fucking suffering. She did what so many abusers do: guilt trip them into staying. His situation with her is like it is for so many people who just feel stuck in abusive relationships. I can't even count how many times I've been in his position. You could see the pain and how trapped he felt, all over his face and in his eyes. Jackie needs help, and because she just won't admit it, she's so fucking horrible to Marshall, and like any abusive relationship, he's trapped and feels like he can't leave her.
@@jeremym4551 I’m pretty sure they did but Jarvis skipped over it for some reason. He showed Amber with the Mardi Gras garlands then jumped to Micah & Paul in the pods. Remember Micah & Irena were bitching about Amber & calling her a loser for planning a Mardi Gras party for Paul? If I recall correctly that happened in episode 1, before Micah went back into the pods with Paul & told him she was going to choose him & he should ditch Amber. She was clearly stringing him & Kwame along, but it felt like she was more into Kwame until Amber showed an interest in Paul & she suddenly got jealous & decided she wanted him. Of course that could be down to the edit though.
If they truly wanted this to be an experiment, they'd need to have a control group of people who see each other while "dating." That would actually make each season a lot more interesting
I feel like you can’t really have a control group for this sort of thing because there are so many variables. You’d have to include a LOT of people in the experiment to iron out the outliers.

@@SomethingOddInMyTea For sure. Honestly Micah and Paul deserve each other so I'm glad they seem to be locking each other down. Paul not being interested in Micah at all until he noticed Kwame had his heart set on her is also a major red flag. Scum, scum, scum!
"Dropped that red-flag 'empath' line." I have mixed feelings about this. I believe myself to be an empath, and I have since I first began researching-about a decade ago-what could be the reason behind these periods of extreme anxiety/emotional distress that I've experienced all throughout my life. Now, it's abundantly clear to me that Micah is more than likely not an empathic person lol. But, it really sucks to think that, in trying to explain the level of heightened empathy I experience to someone-which, I would never just start speaking about for no reason...it would have to come up in conversation, naturally-that person could potentially see me as a "red flag"...I'm guessing because of some internet/meme joke like Jarvis explained? Lol. I guess I'm just confused on where this suspicion originated from.
@@mellamobrittney As an empathetic person, I understand where you're coming from. There's nothing wrong with having empathy or being guided by your empathetic self. Where the red flag comes in is the pushing of it. Like hi this is my name, I am an empath. It's just shallow really, and tends to be used as a catch all to get on people's good side. Genuine empathy is a wonderdul trait and tends to be paired with a little more critical thi king and space for the other person. It may seem like a minute differencw but it's an important one. Actions speak louder than words :)

I love the drama of Love is Blind, but I hate how they really emphasise looks not being important just to only cast conventionally attractive people and frequently cut in scenes of them working out and dolling up 🙄

Why isn't anyone on this show ugly? Like, what are they allegedly experimenting for? To learn if attractive people would be attracted to each other? Can your personal connection overcome not seeing in what way your partner is TV level attractive?
What's wild is that they are all ridiculously attractive, and yet somehow people will not be attracted to their partner and want to date someone else? Truly mind boggling.
Because attractive people actually get to choose, while the other one's get what they can. The contestants are at most average according to European standards, sorry. Plus noone would tune in to watch a bunch of uglies...
@@Another30 I guess I was thinking about season three and Bartise being like "Raven is so hot" and how he wasn't physically attracted to Nancy, and then Cole doing the same thing with the Colleen/Zanab situation. FYI Lee Ann Womack is a country singer (“I hope you dance”) who was very popular for mostly the mid/late-90s. Think Faith Hill type vibes…strong, bolt-it-out vocals. It’s a beautiful song, but it’s usually used at weddings for the Father-Daughter &/or Mother-Son dance. To clarify, the song is coming from a mom’s desire for her children to embrace life, taking a chance on love and faith…live life w/o regrets. Although considering Zach’s mom is passed on, that may be a big part of that song choice.🤔(I’m southern btw)
Knowing what we do now about Love Is Blind having 20 hour work days, I don’t blame her for sleeping. The experience they had on set like most reality tv shows sounded like hell.
"I Hope You Dance" is everyone and their mother's (literally) "meaningful" song at some point in their life in the Midwest. That entire part was not nearly as coincidental as they want to think it is lol (Edit: I probably should have prefaced this was an early 2000s thing, so this applies mostly to people 30ish now give or take)

Thats not even what being an empath means. You notice OTHER peoples emotions and feel them.. so someone else could overreact to everything or be highly emotional and empaths will take on that energy. They never say its not allowed to feel things, because they UNDERSTAND and are EMPATHETIC. Meaning they allow it. They are constantly putting themselves in other peoples shoes. I find these shows so weird like "you guys are all gonna date multiple people at once and we hope you're jealous!!" I'd be like nah i know they gotta talk to other people at the same time. its part of the show...
Right!? I was sitting there watching Micah (I believe that was her name. It was one of the blonde girls) getting jealous and over what? She has no right to claim that they’re exclusively dating when it’s a dating show and you’re supposed to be dating other people. It doesn’t help that the guy didn’t seem like he was super into her either
Yes!!!! Every season of the Bachelor has someone with this exact "I am livid that you're dating other people" storyline and I can't help but think the formula needs to be shaken up a little bit 😂
As someone who has narcolepsy... I think it's really upsetting that he would get so frustrated with her for something as innocent as falling asleep. Especially since this is just one time. It's such a small, innocent little thing to do... red flag imo that he's like "I'm done" over her taking a nap
Apparently he got over it when he realized she was asleep and hadn’t walked out on him. I have narcolepsy too, so I’m in a similar boat of needing someone who would understand me sleeping a lot
My favorite part of this episode was when Micha rejected Kwami and Kwami was so devastated he was crying in the common room talking about going home and dying alone and then after the commercial break he’s on a date with a new girl he literally never mentioned before
These predictions have me rolling with how wrong they are. It's so funny how different the people on the show seem at first glance. Please do more episodes! I am eating up all content about this show. It's such a trashfire.
Right I need to see his reactions to being so wrong and the whole Zack/Irina/Bliss thing. Idk why, but I love Love is Blind. It’s so messy and I’m here for it. 😅
This show gives me seasonal whiplash. It's the only dating show I know that actually feels incomplete without a two hour drunken after party in some high-rise where everything perfectly falls apart lol. But sure, it's a scientific dating experiment 👌👌👌
The only leeway i can give love is blind is that my partner and I met online and started dating before we saw a picture of each other. However we talked nearly everyday for like 9 months before we got together, not 10 days with the intent of marrying someone immediately.
I need Jarvis' commentary to make it through these. I could never watch this on my own or else I would curl up into a ball of cringe and secondhand embarrassment LMAO. The Jarvis buffer makes this about 10 million times more enjoyable
I enjoy that Netflix went “oooh Tiffany falling asleep will be so dramatic and kind of funny” and now all this stuff is coming out about how they are sleep deprived, and limited food, and too much alcohol, and it’s not funny anymore but 100% on camera.
the falling asleep bit is so funny. my partner falls asleep really easily and i couldnt imagine that being a deal breaker when youre geared up for proposing. it shows shes so comfortable around him to let her guard down and doze off. does he even know she fell asleep? anyways id love to see more of this
The line about it being "easy" to find a boyfriend on a dating app made me chortle. While I did meet my boyfriend on a dating app, the journey to finding him was NOT what I would call easy. Had to go through a lot of trial and error with sussing out guys and trying to feel out compatability before I met him. Really am glad I was careful because I'm with someone who's amazing and sweet, but it was a long haul getting there!
Yeah, I've been through that too but I made more than my fair share of mistakes on there. The last round that ended in my current and hopefully last partner had one big difference though: I pulled an r/choosingbeggar in that I basically just made two photos of my profile into lists. One was the "these are the deal breakers for me" and "this is what you need to bring into the relationship". Nothing outrageous like "you need to have this height, must be fit, have this hair and eye colour" or something like that: On the 1st list was stuff like "I don't want kids, so you should be okay with that down the road", "I do want to marry one day", "I have pets and I am responsible for those and you can't have a problem with them and shouldn't have any allergies towards them" and even the politic talk "right wing people can fuck right off, if you're a misogynistic butthole you can fuck off too". Basically stuff that wouldn't necessarily come up within the first 3 dates but is super important to actually know. The 2nd list was stuff like "I currently still have problems holding up boundaries, so you need to respect those" or "I can't date another guy that isn't in tune with his feelings" or "you ideally shouldn't have any phobias of snakes or insects, you don't need to touch them if you don't want but having a fear of those would be not optimal" or "I will show interest in your hobbies, but I expect the same in return". Some of these are of course super basic but some of them are not and it helped me so much sussing out some people. I got way less messages and the ones that did write either made for good conversation or were just trolling (only had two of those tho). And in the end, I have a boyfriend that I can really count on and vice versa and we've been together for 1 year and 5 months so far. I couldn't imagine anyone more fitting for me.
@@niyah_uwu Good for you for sticking to your guns, honestly. Being choosy about who I talked to really helped me as well!!
I never believed in the concept of an empath, but I’m starting to think it’s actually a code word for “I understand emotions enough to manipulate them”
oh absolutely im so glad someone’s finally said this
I’m with you entirely and hearing it frustrates me to such a degree, I’m a cognitive neuroscientist and I’m telling you IT DOESNT EXIST, it’s not a thing from a scientific perspective
In my experience, these "empaths" are just very good at projecting their own emotions onto other people - they're not actually that in touch with someone else's emotions enough to be affected by them themselves. On the contrary, they are so focused on their own emotions and lack of regulating them that they push that onto those around them
can i get yall help and therapy cause I'm concerned wat empaths do yall kno
I don't know If I'm an 'empath' but I do really deeply feel other's emotions to the point where it severely impacts my mental wellbeing and I get taken advantage of as a 'therapist friend' because I'm a people pleaser and easy to manipulate and I feel obliged to help everyone
I'm SCREAMING at Jarvis overlooking the evil of Irina and Micah and confidently saying Chelsea would be the instigator 😂 He wasn't wrong about there being a mean Blonde, he just had the wrong blonde.
💀💀
@What Is Life So true
Yep, absolutely 😂
Jarvis going after the wrong blonde woman is so funny to me
Edit:
All of Jarvis's predictions being hilariously wrong is also very funny
Questioning his judgement after rooting for Irina. He’s got whatever blinkers Zack had on.
@@jakestroll6518 i don’t think they showed any of irinas bad side in ep 1 to be fair
As long as he roasts tf outta Irina, Micah, and Kwame by the season's end, I can forgive him lol
Him going off the beats of the show is really funny given that this season was edited so differently from the previous ones 😂
Of course that could be down to the edit though.
i love how wrong this man is about everything he’s predicting
RIGHT AND IM EATIN IT ALL UP
Right 💀 it's hilarious
Oh you sweet summer child 😅
who? jarvis? which man?
He’s so wrong about everything and it’s so interesting
If they truly wanted this to be an experiment, they'd need to have a control group of people who see each other while "dating." That would actually make each season a lot more interesting
It would be interesting if they had everyone who is dating "blind" also go on in person dates stuff a different group and see who they are more into
OK but this is something I'll watch...
I feel like you can’t really have a control group for this sort of thing because there are so many variables. You’d have to include a LOT of people in the experiment to iron out the outliers.
love that they brought an environmental scientist on to confirm that their Social Experiment is sound. his area of expertise is literally animal, mineral, vegetable.
Poor Tiffany!! Can't help but feel like she fell asleep because she was so comfortable and at peace with him. Her heart gonna be broke when she wakes up
That was my thought too! My bf always ends up sleepy when we hang out because he's comfortable with me. I felt like it ate into our time at first but it's so nice having a super comfy nap together.
She needs a comfy sleep guy 😢
Tiffany is listed in her friends phone as Sleeping Beauty”. In a pre recorded interview she indicated that she can fall asleep any where.
Spoiler
She did feel bad but they got engaged regardless :D
They are the Power couple of this season
@@Alina-fo9kr I don't know if I like that for her considering how pissed off he got about it. I know I be sleepy af most of my life
@@GoddessOfLoveEnergy333 They had a good talk about it and even discussed it with her friends. He seemed to understand better after that.
I’d assume he was so pissed because he initially didn’t know if she straight up left. And he was pouring his heart out when she fell asleep so I guess it’s somewhat understandable he was pissed about it?
But honestly, these two seem like the healthiest and most mature couple out of the bunch. They didn’t have any major arguments so far as they’ve established good communication. I wouldn’t even be surprised if they consensually decided to not get married so they can pursue their relationship more naturally.
Chelsea: chilling, doesn't really do anything outrageous or out of pocket, smiling and laughing
Jarvis: And I took that personally
Jarvis having the absolute WORST read on everyone is so funny to me 😂
Right lol
I wanna be on a dating show so bad. I don’t want to look for love though, I just want to cause mayhem

No but forreal- I want to do that too. Just wreck havoc. Cause I know damn well a relationship with anyone in a love is blind season will likely crash and burn, so I just want to be funny and go crazy

I’ve never related to someone so much on this show though lol
Credit to her, she was exhausted. Glad that she and Brett are doing good though
The guy going through the 5 stages of grief as the woman just sleeps like a baby got me laughing a tad bit too much.
“there’s no way to be shallow on this show” you can literally ask questions to gauge whether or not people make money, are close to their families, etc there are so many ways to be shallow without seeing someone 😭

The point of the show is to get married to someone you just met it’s gonna be shallow regardless of whether u see them or not😭also they could make their judgment based on how good they think the persons voice sounds
I love that they all have this attitude that they’re so real because they’re meeting someone in a way that’s not superficial as if it’s not the MOST superficial thing to NEED to literally be blind to someone’s image in order to really get to know them

my favorite thing ever is that the second Micah first introduced herself and dropped that red-flag “empath” line, I knew exactly what kind of person she was. felt this massive disconnect from what falsity she was trying to present and immediately disliked her. trust your gut always. she’s the worst LOL.

I remember almost laughing out loud when Micah, happily leading Kwame on, was upset Paul was seeing two people at once. Paul not being interested in Micah at all until he noticed Kwame had his heart set on her is also a major red flag.
Scum, scum, scum!
"Dropped that red-flag 'empath' line."
I have mixed feelings about this.
Thank you for addressing the ridiculous moment where Tiffany realized her & Brett were wearing the same color. I laughed out loud when I watched that but no one else has talked about it.

The last round that ended in my current and hopefully last partner had one big difference though:
I pulled an r/choosingbeggar in that I basically just made two photos of my profile into lists. One was the "these are the deal breakers for me" and "this is what you need to bring into the relationship". Nothing outrageous like "you need to have this height, must be fit, have this hair and eye colour" or something like that:
On the 1st list was stuff like "I don't want kids, so you should be okay with that down the road", "I do want to marry one day", "I have pets and I am responsible for those and you can't have a problem with them and shouldn't have any allergies towards them" and even the politic talk "right wing people can fuck right off, if you're a misogynistic butthole you can fuck off too".
I had seen like two pics of my gf before we became a couple and apparently she even had a crush on me way back when she didn't even know what I looked like at all... We've been together for over three years now, living together for two, still going strong. I have a feeling it's the "not getting married within a month" 🤔🤔🤔
I've heard other reaction people say that they are in the pods for hours on end, so it makes sense someone would fall asleep eventually. Also Jordan and Jarvis playing with the gel blasters was amazing
Micah pushed Kwame to propose to her lmao she got mad at him for talking to Chelsea but she was seeing Paul
I had a coworker, who got married, and after the wedding and reception, they became instant parents, because on the way home his best man and brother hit a moose, killing both him and his wife. Their two children in the backseat were unharmed, thankfully. However i couldn't imagine my anniversary being associated with such an event. It still bring emotions to this day, even being 10-12 years ago.
I accidentally fell in love with Jarvis by wearing grey. Guess it was meant to be.
>Micah voice< Well, I'm wearing gray too. I think I've just had a stronger connection with Jarvis...
Honestly love watching Jarvis react to dating shows
Zack saying you have a 10 in intellect like he’s reviewing your fucking stats from the Pipboy makes me want to claw at the wallpaper
it’s a love angle. it’s not a square unless all parties are in love except the corners with the opposite corners
jarvis’s idea of coming out of a reality show to the apocalypse was actually a thing.
fr? What's it called?
@@bbaugher2419 Big Brother, I actually just saw a clip of them announcing how bad covid had gotten while they were all isolated then sent them home
@@bbaugher2419 Dead Set is a five episode show where Big Brother was run over by zombies. you can see them at first thinking it’s some prank or new challenge before realizing that shit is real.

OMG I WATCHED THAT WITH MY MOM FOREVER AGO
You have GOT to keep watching this season, especially based on your predictions. It's so worth it.
In a way, every prediction being wrong actually keeps the suspense and provides a fulfilling viewing experience.
There should be a dating show called Jarvis Picks where Jarvis just chooses everyone’s partner for them. And then at the show reunion they’re sent to an empty warehouse and Battle Royale each other.
just watched a 3 year old vid and can i say your diction has improved so much, like you still have a lisp but i didnt ever notice until i watched how bad your lisp was 3 years ago, very good job! it's so hard to do that, im still shook
Please please please do an update to this season because holy crap it is so uncomfortable and crazy
Also like... having people be isolated from their whole support network and just interacting with romantic interests... that's basically like an emotionally abusive relationship and has such weird implications.
THISSS!!!!!! I knew something was messed up about the show! Whenever they say “I would have never dated this person in the real world” HUH I WONDER WHY
Never thought of it this way!!!! That is so so true!😢😮
Patiently waiting for Jarvis to see (and call out) the bully behavior going on
I’ve never been so happy about buying the product in an ad before this gel blaster is going to be life changing
i love your reactions to reality shows because i feel like you always say things that i thought i was the only one thing lmfaooo its so fun, would love to see you react to the rest
4:27 Jarvis is one of the few people who can make me watch a sponsor cuz he actually puts effort into making it entertaining
You are fucking everywhere Heisenberg lol
Actually the most enjoyable ad read ever, Jordan FINALLY killed Jarvis. So happy for him!
I really like Chelsea and how straight forward she is (and have continued to throughout the show thus far) so watching Jarvis reaction to her (and Kwame) is almost strange. It's always wild to see how differently people read personality types.
I need episode 2 please! I'd rather watch this than die from cringe by actually watching it
3:05 I mean randomly being married to someone you don’t know is pretty old Fashioned. If you were like an Royal and got an arranged marriage
