    You can also reheat these or you can put a piece of parchment over the top while shrinking it so it comes out flat.

      In this case I wanted it curved but those are great ideas if you want a flat one!

    Love this! Used to use shrink it to stamp on. Never tried copies though! Thank you for sharing this!

      Deb the butterflies were stamped, then colored just so you know, but my guess is you could print on them as well, have not tried that.

      I got to be a judge in the 30 year anniversary of Copic! The woman who won the crafting division of the contest used this technique for her art!

    Do you have a link to a website for the lady you met that had done all of the butterflies with shrink plastic? Would love to see some of her work!! And thanks for doing this video, it's good to see how well Copics work on shrink plastic! :)

    Hey can you also just put these in the oven? Cause i just want flat keychains and dont have a hair dryer readily accessible or a heat gun lol

    Good morning, what is the best paper to use with my Copic's ?

    • @CopicintheCraftRoom
      @CopicintheCraftRoom  6 років тому +1

      Smooth white cardstock is what you are looking for. People have a variety of favorites including X-Press It Blending Card, Neenah Exact Index and Hammermill and many more. Each one has slightly different attributes like smoother blending, holds more ink...

    Hello,it looks really nice, but I wonder after the plastic shrink the pigments will still on the plastic or is it begin to lose some of the color?

    Do you think the Coptic would go on better if you sanded the plastic side you put it on or tear up the nib?

    • @CopicintheCraftRoom
      @CopicintheCraftRoom  3 роки тому +1

      You could try it. I don't think it would tear up the nib if you used a really fine sandpaper. Two thoughts, I would make sure to really clean it off after sanding so you don't have loose particles sticking to the nib, and even though it is rough the ink will still not act the same as paper. It will still separate and layer differently not blend.
      Also some shrink plastics have a rougher side to them, you would stamp on the shiny and color the rough.

    Do you need to sand the sheet plastic before coloring with the copics or is it ok to just ink and color without sanding it?

    • @CopicintheCraftRoom
      @CopicintheCraftRoom  4 роки тому

      Great question! I did not. Coloring on plastic will look very different than paper since it is none porous but it still sticks to the slick surface!

    do copics dry quickly in plastic???

    • @CopicintheCraftRoom
      @CopicintheCraftRoom  5 років тому +2

      It takes longer then paper, Depends on how much ink you put down. Mine is sticky in a few minutes and dry in a couple hours. With this particular technique the drying time is sped up considerably because of using the heat gun on the plastic. As soon as I was done shrinking the ink was pretty much dry.

    Did you stamp on the rough side or the shiny side ?

    What is e97?

    • @CopicintheCraftRoom
      @CopicintheCraftRoom  4 роки тому

      E97 is a specific color in the Copic collection. E stands for Earth tone and the 9 and 7 help the user know what color they are using.

    Is Shrink Plastic the same as Shrinky Dinks?

    • @CopicintheCraftRoom
      @CopicintheCraftRoom  6 років тому +2

      yep same stuff, the shrink plastic I purchased does not have a rough side and I know a lot of the "shrink dink" material my girls colored on had a rough side to color with colored pencils. BUT I bet it would work just the same!

    What brand of shrink film did you use?

    • @CopicintheCraftRoom

      I purchased a generic one on Amazon that I could get in bulk.
