FAQ: Q: can you use a microwave to shrink the plastic? A: I never tried it and probably never will but I’m going to assume no. Since microwave has hot spots and doesn’t heat evenly. But let me know if it does or not!
Q: Can I use nail top coat to seal it? A: You can but remember some colorants will smudge or bleed when nail polish is applied. For example sharpie marker will dissolve with nail top coat.

@@talibmadhany8554 no it doesnt have to be number 6 but it might not shrink evenly. Actually i make a lot of my keychains with the plastic from food packaging you buy at the store. Most are number 6. Specially at the premade food counter.

Oh. My. Gosh! You have taught me sooooo much! Never in a million years would I have thought to paint the back of my melted piece to make the coloring more vivid but I'll be doing that tomorrow! In fact, I found your video while looking for white Shrinky Dink to see if that would solve my problem--I'm so glad I found YOUR video instead!! I'm also kicking myself for having tossed all my PS06 plastic containers in the recycling bin 2 weeks ago (I'd been saving them for use in cardmaking and decided that I had far too many on hand). These are really great tips! Thanks for sharing them- i bought a whole pack of cheap shrink plastic already sanded/SCRATCHED, and thought I'd wasted my money. Now i can just sand them smooth. And great coloring ideas too! My niece grew up with the Little Miss and Mister characters, i think I'll make her a key chain. Thanks again!!!

    • @AmyMade

Just make sure you’re still using a 320 grit sandpaper. Anything higher than 400 will make the plastic too smooth and color pencils won’t stick.

Excellent work! Explained thoroughly and very easy for all to understand. I would add to everyone, as a safety precaution, to try and get a dedicated oven to and for your crafting. Having had several college courses on Plastics and Composites Technology, I would warn everyone to please be very aware of the types of materials that you are using. Plastics and composites are extremely fun and if you practice the right Personal Protective Equipment (PPE’s) it can keep you and your loved ones safe from perhaps some toxicities that are found on some materials. Also, if possible, try and use your dedicated oven outside your living space, again, just as a safety measure.
Again, great job with this video!😊

This video came up in my suggested videos on the side while watching that video and I am so glad it did! I can't wait to try making little charms or key chains or who knows what! @@AmyMade I watched a few other videos that you created and one in particular really left me curious... I'm hesitant to ask you about it and the reason is that from my perspective it seems to be true when people discuss how sensitivity is abnormally high, both in number of people and at the level to which each individual exhibits. With that said, If you decide that a conversation between two people who haven't officially met has more potential to result with a positive outcome, like a new friendship or an acquaintance and less potential to result negatively, like talking with a sociopath or someone who's deranged, then let me know. If that's not the case, please forgive me for appearing intrusive and I will not make any further attempts of engaging in conversation with you. Either way, I understand.
