Hi, Your flower creation is so beautiful! Do you know if Shrinky Dink Plastic is the same as Shrink Prink? I am new to this type of craft and really enjoyed watching your video. Hoping you decide to make more videos similar to this one! I really enjoyed :)
I haven't used Shrink Prink yet, but what I can tell from reading online reviews and watching tutorials is that they serve the same purpose and either could be used. Thank you, I struggle to find new ideas but would keep trying to come up with new videos! x
I see that you used the Gemini Jr die cutter in this video....what are your thoughts about the Gemini Jr.? I am debating between purchasing this die cutting machine or the adjustable Bira. The reviews note that the plates will warp frequently with Gemini and to plan on replacing them frequently. I also read that if you rotate the plates with each use they will last longer. Have you had to replace your plates yet and if so how many uses before you had to? Would you recommend the Gemini Jr. or any other die cutter? thanks :)
Hi CinDIY, I love Gemini, especially for the intricate dies. I have been using the plates for around 4 months now. It is difficult to estimate how many uses before they need replacement as it depends on the kind of paper and dies you are cutting with. However I would mention they last for atleast six months before needing a replacement if you are not putting them to excessive use. I have not used the Bira machine, so couldn't say about it. Yes, I would definitely recommend the Gemini Jr. But for someone on a tight budget I would also suggest looking into a big shot machine, as the plates for a manual machine last way longer, While you are required to replace warped plates for an electric machine, warped plates in a manual machine would go ahead with no issues - and the plate costs do add up over time.
