Here's my review on the Taurus G2C chambered in 9mm. Surprisingly a great and pretty accurate gun to shoot. Thanks for all the continued love and support. I purchased this one from Combat Armory when it was on sale for $169.99 and don't regret it. Hope you enjoy. God Bless.
I’ve shot a lot of steel cased ammo, not one failure! The wife got me the G2c and the G3 for my birthday, best gifts I have ever got. lol I carry my G2c everyday, feel very confident about it. Everyone should get at least one of these guns, they won’t be disappointed, I bet my life on it!
Edit: I have switched to the G3 for my " truck gun" as some would say, everyday carry ,( I enter people's homes for work and don't want to carry it on me, even though I should) and I couldn't be more pleased with it's reliability and "feel", for lack of a better word,. I would recommend this gun to anyone
Tula is good stuff. I understand 15 or 20 years ago they were using a case coating that when warmed up in a gun got sticky. Once they quit using that everything was fine.
Holy shit! A straight forward, no BS, no grandstanding, tacticool, review?! The age of miracles is truly upon us. I particularly enjoyed the moment when you made the painfully obvious observation with the external safety- don’t like it? Don’t use it!! 👌🏻
Bought my G2C a few weeks ago. Absolutely love it. Shot almost a hundred rounds with no problems
That was about the most thorough review I've seen yet ! I'm also in South Florida and I can confirm the humidity can play hell with guns down here.
Respect, honest review. I love my Taurus G2.
Great Video
You are a good communicator
I appreciate your squared away attitude
Palmetto State Armory is sending out 2 of G2C’s and a gsg-16-22lr-ar-15-carbine-green
My favorite is my Canik Dark Side Rival
After I shoot the G2C’s, and make sure they are good to go probably be my regular carry
“Just the facts “

Your Bro in AZ
Clinger holster, IWB at four o'clock. Stainless rod, highly polished feed ramp. No issues, one on the chamber, safe on. Yes...practice! Thumb safe easy to use....my muscle remembers...ha ha. Thanks for review. Great gun for the money.
1500 rounds thru mine. I like it. Size and capacity are great.
I absolutely love my G2C. I got a smokin great price at $170. It is my EDC and will remain that way for a long time. Love the 12 round capacity and it fits my baseball glove sized hand like it was molded perfectly for it. Had no problems from day 1 when I dumped 500 rounds through it to make sure I would trust it.
I'm about to purchase this for my first gun with intent to actually go to the range and get my concealed carry..it's my gateway gun lol thank you for the honest video.
It's a good gun. You can buy extended magazines for 15 rounds plus 1 in the chamber
I gotta salute you on how simple and thorough you explained the G2C. This review was 100% helpful and informative. I felt like I was right there with you as if you was showing and speaking to me. Can't wait to get my hands on this tool. ( Taurus g2c ) ☮️💯
Thanks. Great review as I just ordered one of these to protect my family. Thank you so much for your insight.
Hello from East Tennessee!! 2022 and I just picked up one of these and love it. After about 100 rounds I decided it's my new carry wep
Taurus really turned it around with this
Bought mine last night. 179. And a mail in rebate to make it 155. Plus $19 shipping. $20 FFL transfer, 1000rnds of FMJ fiocchi for $160. Federal HST 2 boxes for $40.....and I’m still below $400. Spent more on my Hellcat alone 😂😂. Thanks for ur review from. #SaltLife. Greetings from Naples, FL. Southern FL proud
Great vid bro, simple and no BS. Give your opinion and don't care if you don't like it, my kind of guy. I have 2 pt111g2's and love them. 1500 rounds through each and never a problem. Have 2 in case one goes down on a range trip. It's my edc and a like having a back up, don't believe in caring a different gun every week. Consistent training with your carry gun is key (imo) and rotating carry guns never made much sense to me. With their price point you can get 2 for the price of more expensive models. Good is good no matter what the price. Stay safe and sling lead my friend!
Not sure why liked the thumbs up at the end of the video. I own the Taurus and get great results so palm size hole would seem to feed the bad a good serving.
I’ve watched hours of reviews on this gun and by far this is the best review out there. Thank you!
Thank you Paige. I totally appreciate that.
@@futhermucker1 Sir I enjoyed your review and your humility all the while you being so knowledgeable , May the Lord bless you and keep you
Great review. I have same gun and use it for my edc. Shot many rounds thru it and had no problems.
Bought this gun about a year ago, for$229.00, black, same as yours. I live in northeast Ohio, not a lot of humidity, but after about two or three months I noticed the rust problem at the back of the gun, where perspiration from my body came in contact with the pistol. I'm about 700 rounds in, and only had one failure, not due to firearm.... light strike, but the second strike capability fired the round on the next trigger pull. As far as the rust problem, I took some emery cloth, sanded off the very light surface rust, oiled the slide, and retired the gun to home duty, AFTER purchasing a second G2C in stainless for my EDC. About 350 rounds through it with zero issues. I did upgrade the sights on my black one to fiber optic sights from Lakeline LLC, which was a pretty good improvement over the stock sights. All in all, I LOVE this gun! I have three different guns that I use for EDC, this is the gun that I carry 80% of the time.
I love Taurus guns. My first gun was pt99 Taurus 9mm made in Brazil 🇧🇷 and still flawless today. Bought in 1986 I think. I don’t believe that we have to torture test every gun we purchased. 800 rounds flawlessly is more than enough. It’s not a battlefield gun you’re taking to war shooting thousands and thousands of rounds and be subjected to weather and elements. It’s a concealed carry gun y’all will carry for self preservation and you pray to God almighty that you don’t have to use it.
You might want to visit Lakeline LLC and get their stainless steel recoil spring and guide rod ($30) and then get their trigger bar springs ($8). That should fix you right up, they also sell night sights for they G2C as well (I haven't bought those). I love mine and I carry it the majority of the time.
Lakeline is awesome! Make sure you get the stainless striker guide as well....
Correct get all three including the stainless steel striker guide, the factory one is plastic and still has a hole in it meant for the security lock but the G2C doesn’t have the lock and effects the trigger
I love how much real-world common since information you put out
The Asmund Short Stroke Trigger promises to reduce the pull length by 20%, while being the only aftermarket trigger to maintain all of the guns factory safeties. Priced at a mere $24.00, it’s gotta be worth a try.
Great review brother! Just bought one .
Appreciate your input👊🏻
Florida here as well.
I like the paint job. No need to apologize for that! I have taken a Krylon can to more than on gun in my life. Lol, Florida humidity, cheap paint beats rust! New subscriber here.
Right on. Thanks John.
I bought mine for $199.
I’m glad to hear good things about it.
You Sir have made a very fine review.
Thank you. I appreciate that.
I second that! I really like the spray paint idea too- works, looks good and fixed the issue cheap😊@@futhermucker1
I watched til the end..will get a tan one when I can catch it again on sale for @209.00. EXCELLENT WORK brutha!✊
Right on. Thanks Pete. I appreciate that.
Good points i agree with. I love the 2 i have also got big brother g3. Had no issues at all with any of them. Many officers are using these for a back up. Trigger not great but not bad. Taurus really has stepped up the game.
Great review. I am a sourh Florida boy too and can affirm the humidity. January 8th and it was 80/80.
I appreciate the video. I have an old Taurus Millennium PT145. Unfortunately, I suffered a defect common to that gun, the frame cracked at the slide. I contacted Taurus, they immediately told me the gun was covered under their old lifetime warranty. They told me to send in my gun and they'll send me the G2C, because they no longer make my model. I'm going from a 10 round .45 to a 12 round 9mm. But I don't mind, they are sending me an updated gun that apparently works! I'm happy.
Great upgrade in my opinion. With 9mm. costing less to shoot and more plentiful as well as having more rounds in the magazine, I say you made out ok. Let me know how it goes. Thanks for the view and comment.
Just subscribed. Looking forward to more videos on the G2C. I’ve ordered one for Concealed carry. Thanks for the information.
Good review man. Honest and not boring at all. Stayed for the whole review
Great review, no BS. I love my G2c, one of my best shooters.
I have 2 Taurus G2C pistols. Love both of them. I replaced the plastic guide rods in both of them with a stainless steel guide rod with a new spring. Also replaced the plastic striker guide with a stainless steel striker guide in both of them also. I also got some Sig 226 18 round mags with sleeves for both the G2C pistols. The Sig 226 mags work flawlessly in the G2C pistols. For a budget 9mm these pistols are outstanding in reliability and accuracy. If you don't have a G2C, Get one!
Great no bs review i just picked a g2c up today.
Nice video, straight to it. I just got in US from Brazil, land of Taurus bs materials for guns, but only for guns sold there, cause here in Amercia the manufacture is so much better. Recently I purchased an G2C and so far far I'm liking it. Right size to carry, enough ammo in these two 12 rounds mags for self defense. See ya !
Welcome to America man. Yes, importers know that if they want their product to be successful they have to take a little more time with quality control. Unfortunately, firearms that don't meet quality standards they sell in their home country to try and offset the manufacture expense. It sucks but it's the truth. Thanks for your view and comment.
Great review! Down to earth and grounded. I own two G2C pistols and 1200 rounds later I'm still in love. I added a technaclip for appendix conceal which is a great option if you don't like a holster to lug around for less than 30 bucks.
Thank you bro. I can't use those Technaclips because it doesn't cover enough to prevent rust.
Benny Watts 😂
Thanks for the box review. Good job man.
😂Thank you. 😆
Two years ago I purchased two of these for $189.99ea. with a $15.00 discount per weapon. These lil guns are a terrific buy!
It's my primary edc and I love it.
Excellent review on the G2C. Much better than many of the goofy UA-cam reviews. Covered the bases effectively. I have the PT111 and the newer G2C pistols myself and now carry the PT111 which I swapped out the striker guide with a Lakeline steel one. Oddly enough I'm actually a Glock guy and often carry a Glock 19 but seem to migrate back to the PT111 Millennium in a Don Hume IWB holster.
Years ago we called these guns Saturday night specials, much like the derringer it is not a target pistol, it's function should be as an option for belly-to-belly attack and unseen by your attacker until it is deployed. The 9mm is at best a less than lethal round and not a persuasion against a committed attacker hopped up on grass or hippie juice, sights and magazine capacity are of little importance as most encounters rarely go over four shots, and every shot comes with an attorney and the premise that you are a gun wielding racist that took the life of an innocent who was on his way to get his machete sharpened at 3 a.m., a gentle soul who may have made many mistakes in the past, many many mistakes, but they were getting their life together until you selfishly decided you wanted to live, believing your life somehow mattered more than their next fix.
Good review. The advantage to the Taurus lock system is that the key has a screwdriver to adjust the sights. That's the only advantage. I just bought two, one for the truck and one to gift my daughter. Taurus really pulled a winner with this gun and I have no problems with any failures and comes with 2 mags. Has been as reliable as my Glock 26. Only one year warranty but at the lowball price who cares.
You really did a great job with this vid except for reverse posting. You know your material.
Really good review. I enjoyed it. Makes me want to go out and get me a G2C.
"Do it, do it, do it.." LOL! Thanks for the view and comment. Let me know if you eventually do.
Do not like the term "beater gun"...Someone is very proud of their G2C..and This "beater gun" beats out many MANY higher priced handguns in about every aspect..I treat every gun as if it's a collector's item..good review.
Phillip Hudnall agreeably I was checking out sig 365 OUCH 🤬😡 $585.00 out the door. Not worth that much. I’ll just be paying for it’s BRAND NAME SIG SAUER.
@@mja9700 Yep...and that 365 is famous for having issues..js
Phillip Hudnall I fired it for the very first time last week 1/31/19 it sucks at shooting. I have a big hand than average person not the gun for me.
Exactly. A gun is a gun. They all shoot and they all do the job. All that money your paying for guns like glock. All your paying for is the brand. That doesn't mean its better then all others.
I purchased a high end 1911, paid nearly 2k after taxes, and yes I had to save up for it. I thought it just had to be better than those cheap Rock islands and man was I wrong. I got to the point where I didn't even want to shoot my expensive 1911 because it was so expensive so I sold it and bought the ria, it's a fantastic firearm at a quarter of the price. Price doesn't always mean better.
Could hear mine rust in Jax at night in the night stand also the mag release is revesable sir good video love my g2c and the wife
Great review. I like your style, give it straight, no excuses, no churchin' things up, just "this is what it is, this is what It does, this is what I know." And I appreciate that your a fan of that firearm. I have one too and I love it. But I do get tired of defending it to Glock fanboys. Glocks are fine. Thanks again for the no nonsense review!
Thanks allot. I appreciate that. It's a good gun. One guy at the range gave a little smirk when he saw what I was going to be shooting. Then I out shot him and his Sig. He didn't say anything after that. LOL This gun can run, period. I'm getting another one just because I can afford to. LOL
Something you can do to prevent your slide from rusting or to keep the coating looking like new is, a handy cleaner/dry lube called Strike Hold. I use this on all my guns, I'll take a new one right out of the box, take it apart and clean all the moving parts as well as the slide and barrel, inside and out with the Strike Hold.
It's a tad pricey and you can only get it online but, it works extremely well and a little goes a long way.
It works so well that I use it in my AR. The bolt looks completely dry (although a bit shiny) but, it runs butter smooth.
I'm going to have to look into that. Thanks for the recommendation.
I had the same sort of finish problem, and I just used Birchwood Casey Quick Blue. I thought the slide was blued, and this worked fine. every so often I dab a little more of the quick blue on the bare spots, and it looks brand new.
I had my eye on this gun for a while. I've been watching alot of videos about the Taurus g2c,and so far...I like what I'm seeing. It's looks like a great pistol for a first timer, even though others may have their own opinion about it. I'm planning on buying a few firearms, including,a AR-15.
This one has over 1,600 rounds now without any issues or failures. Great bang for your buck for sure. Are you a first time gun owner?
1850 rounds through mine so far now 👀👀.. it is just fine. i changed the stock guide rod recoil assembly spring after around 1200. it felt mushy. the new lakeline spring assembly is a stiffer spring, and it feels like brand new. i have no issues with this gun .
Thank you for a very helpful review, One of the best I've seen. Due to you're thoughts and others, I've ordered the G2C and it may come in to my FFL today. I got the stainless slide model for $219. I've heard others mention the slide wear issues on the black versions.
I've never been a Taurus fan but took a chance on a Spectrum a few months back and now this G2C. I think Taurus is stepping up. Unlikely to be my EDC but I look forward to putting rounds downrange. Thanks again. I also ordered a holster from badger state for it.
Thank you. I appreciate your feedback. It is a great little pistol. I've put 2,000 rounds through this G2C since this video and it still hasn't had any failures. It's even smoothed out even more over the course of 2,00 rounds. I've paid way more in ammo than I paid for the gun itself. You can't go wrong. The size, the capacity and the price are too good to not consider it. Thanks again.
Light out of Darkness got my G2C Stainless. Feels great in the hand. Lubed it and was impressed by fit & finish for a $200 gun. $340 less then my Glock 45. I’m impressed.
That's good to hear bro. Get some range time with it and let me know what you think. I'm telling you, allot of people in the industry are really surprised with this gun. Taurus has truly changed the way they run QC and R&D.
Light out of Darkness will do that. FYI, I discovered the G2C fits nearly perfectly in a iwb holster I have for my Glock 26.
Nice shirt, Bud! That's a great Live Band!
I usually wipe down the outside of the slide with rem wipes. I haven't had any rust issues and I also live in FL, for scratches I picked up a birchwood and casey flat black pen.
How often do you wipe it down??
Nice honest review I have this same weapon it's also my carry weapon .In closing it's very dependable .
Excellent review man. Thanks
Good video ! I came across this while waiting to purchase a Shield 2.0 or a pocket 9mm that fits my hand (relatively small hands but shield fit best of few I've rented). I also have a CZ P-01 Omega (w/ threaded barrel).
Great video,I just bought me one G2 c and I like it
Great review paid $230 for mine waiting for delivery
The underdog Taurus is proving themselves again however I been a Taurus fan since the early 90’s
I've got to pick one up, I'm seeing to many people doing great reviews. It would be a good weapon to keep in my pick up and carry around when I'm on the tractor.
@Hollow Point. Picked one up today at Buds Gun Shop in Sevierville Tennessee for $184.99 brand new. Put about 50 through it at their range. It's a great feeling gun. Well worth every penny.
I have the g2c in .40 s&w and no issues after 600 rounds.
Thinking about picking up one for another concealed weapon. My friend has one and I love the way it shoots.
Just a note, another reviewer found that the Sig P226 mag also works with this gun, giving you 20 rounds. In case anyone actually thinks they need more rounds. FYI
Failure to feed problems with some of those
I bought a 15 round off cheaper then dirt an no problems
U can get a 32 round magazine for it from Taurus for 26 dollars
Will also take the P226, 228, 229 mags in 9mm
Can't cover all of your points because I want to keep this short. Sorry about the humidity problem....I live near Lake Michigan so we don't have those issues. But I will say that I've had a Millennium G2 for four years and I've had no issues with the fit and finish. I've put about 800 rounds through it and will make three comments....first of all you need to try different types of ammo. I was annoyed during the first 150 rounds because I had several incidents of fail to feed or fail to eject. With further practice I discovered that the G2 likes 124 grain to 135 grain ammo. I no longer use 115 grain 9mm and have not had a problem for about 600 rounds. Secondly I get really annoyed about people ragging on the trigger. There's nothing wrong with the damned trigger....stop whining and practice. Its not the trigger...its you. Finally my only gripe about this gun is the 12 round double stacked mags. Jesus, I probably lost 2 inches of skin trying to load the damned things. So I did a little research and discovered that the Sig 226 mags from Meg Gar are compatible with the G2. They only hold 10 rounds but they load like soft butter. Eventually I picked up 8 mags from the Sig 226 and they perform flawlessly in the G2. In fact they perform better than the Mags that come with the Taurus. I don't mind giving up the 2 rounds because I can swap a mag in about 5 seconds. This whole debate about mag size is utter bullshit because anyone who uses a semi-auto can swap out a mag in just a few seconds. Just shows how little our liberal legislators know about firearms...or anything else :)
Rob Lindley yea your last comment shows how ignorant and dumb you are. When they banned bump stocks they left the bill open ended so they can add things like taking away self feeding guns. So your arrogance is precived as stupidity. It don't really matter if you can switch a mag in few seconds but what matters is not letting them get to that point of trying to ban self feeding guns
So....you've got nothing to say??!! Maybe four logical paragraphs are more than you can comprehend. I'm guessing you're a keyboard warrior who has never had to survive a firefight. Which makes your opinion totally irrelevant.
I have one, my youngest son has one. Sights didn't need adjusting and it's a good one. I've never had a issue with any I've bought from this company.
I don't care for safety's either. I am the safety period and one of the many reasons I love Glocks.
This is a awesome gun I just got one from academy and I love it
"I shoot my stuff... I don't baby my stuff..."
God if I had a dollar for every UA-cam gun genius in the comments explaining how often they clean their gun as if it's a glass vase and not a damn tool/lifeline.
LOL! Absolutely agree.
Whats wrong with cleaning your gun???
@@soup6317 Nothing. It is annoying when people respond with, "What's wrong with cleaning your gun???" or when people nitpick about a million things like how they clean their gun after every range session or maybe the guys who get upset that their holster scratches their finish or even the people who argue over iron aight vs red dots.
Train with your weapon. Learn your weapon. Use your weapon. Then shush.
DroDay4 exactly, if someone feels the need to clean there gun after the range than 🤫
@@soup6317 if you get offended by a comment not directed at you and feel the need two months later to say something as if I care because it hurt your feelings then 🤭
This was well done and comprehensive. I enjoyed it, thank you
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Good video my man. Enjoyed
I put Renaissance wax on mine then ceramic wax coated it. It's still looking good. Not shiny just preserved. And I did put a ninja chainsaw on the rail too!
Taurus G2C is a great little gun but it have quite a bit of snap when it fire for a 9mm it almost feel like my 40cal or my 45 but it's a great carry weapon!✌💯💖
Galloway Precision has a great upgrade package for this gun.
Great Review bro.
I was prone to buy this handgun and now i'm really decided to.
Thanks a lot...
Thanks man. I appreciate it. For the price...can't go wrong.
Picking one up next week and I can’t wait to take her out
Awesome review I’m getting one in about a week! Had the shield 9 before this. Heard many great things about this gun, but you did excellent on this review! Make more reviews bud!
Great video have a Glock 19 but I looking at this for it's size and there is a buzz about G2C
Had good luck with Corrosion X at preventing rust on slide and other metal components. Some states require a manual safety regardless if striker fire or not, that's why Taurus added it.
Which states??? I can’t find any state that requires a Manual safety.
Send your guns over to Arizona, they will never rust here!
When I first got mines I said the same thing I love the feeling of it good gun to have i love mines 💯
Thank you for honesty traded a 357 for a g2c never fired it yet bc recoil from snub killed my wrist over time how is the recoil
Excellent review. Two thumbs way up!
I got mine for $154.00 at Palmetto...I love them...
Great gun...great prices also at Palmetto State Armory 179.00
I have the Glock and the CZ p-10c and I also have this Taurus G2c and this little guy blows them outta the water.
I have the CZ p10c as well and it's the best gun I own the G2c doesn't compare.
@@gregoryyancey6081 suuuuure you do...lol
@@gregoryyancey6081 I have both too and the CZP10c kicks it's ass just a little bit.
I have 1600 rounds through mine not a single Mount function it has run Flawless and I have no issues with the Finish so far.. and I carry it everyday
Awesome video and this is going to be my next gun
Awesome. Thanks bro.
I just bought a G2C and have only had 2 minor issues. The trigger being so far back is throwing me off causing movement on the front sight, correctable with some dry fire training and the sights were hard to pick up so I painted the dots fluorescent orange. Shoot great though, smooth with no jams after 200 rounds.
The guide rod on my G2c is steel, at least that is what my magnet says. The end cap is plastic though. You have 200+ more rounds through yours than I have through mine. I have not had any problems with the G2c. The G2c is a backup to my Bersa TPR9C carry pistol. Both are accurate and reliable but the TPR9C is way better in every way. Nice shooting. Thanks for sharing.
RB M
Galloway precision has all stainless guild rods and firing pin kits. Cheap aswell.
Swap them out and the trigger springs aswell; u will think its a glock (just kidding), nah tho seriously it makes one major difference
@@timmykarrdozza4324 Thanks but its a $200 pistol and that is what it will stay. Works just fine OEM factory pistol. Accurate and reliable and I see no need for spending extra. I find that some out of spec aftermarket parts can tend to create a problem that did not exist in the first place. I stick with factory parts only and I stay out of trouble that way.
Wish you had video on how you painted it?
Correct get all three including the stainless steel striker guide, the factory one is plastic and still has a hole in it meant for the security lock but the G2C doesn’t have the lock and effects the trigger
Mag release is switchable
G2c stands for "Glocks 2 costly"
LMAO
Lol! Good one!
Why spend 500 on a Glock and then spend more to change out the sights and trigger that most hate. When you can spend 200 or less and change things around and still be under 300 dollars.
G2c means glock 2 consistant
Glock is glock
Taurus is a Taurus
Send that thing back to Taurus, you have a oil gasket leak or maybe the filter needs to be tightened, thats a lot of oil on your g2c lol. Good video. At first I thought, holy crap! Taurus does make a left handed model...then I noticed everything printed on the gun is reversed and that the video was just flipped or it was shot in front of a mirror. Seriously though good, simple, straight forward info.
Carried the g2c for 16 months. It’s legit. I really wanted the hk p30sk so I bought a used one and carry that now. But I still trust the g2c. And the wife has it for her at the house in case she needs to hold the fort down and doesn’t have time to dig a rifle out of safe.
Beater gun as in it beats other top ranked guns? Lol...great review. First time firearms buyer and user. Good stuff. I bought the G2C last week. Have a review for the Ruger SR9C perhaps? Already bought that one though. Nice shooting by the way!
Dude ive shot tulammo thru mine for target ammo... absolutely no issues with steel case ammo, id trust this gun with my life.
I carry the G2c and the G2s.
G2c appendix and for a larger guy it is a nice ccw and the g2s goes in my ankle holster and the fact these guns take sig mags cuz the mag cut outs are the same means its got some mag options.
Also i carry G2 RIP ammo for self defense and this gun feeds it like a savage
I wouldn't think the G2C would have any issues with steel case. I just don't shoot steel case because of personal preference. This guns runs great and I recommend it. Thanks for your view and feed back Tim.
Great video bro. I love my G2C.
Thanks for showing the Clip N Magazine part of the Video Review... Now you know I watched the whole video. Good Job! keep up the good work. 😎👍👊🥳🤗🇺🇸. Beretta Sr.
LOL! Thanks again Beretta. Always appreciated.
Nice review. From your knuckles I can tell you are a real badass. Stay safe !
Thank you Bill. Much appreciated.
