I lost my G2c winter before last and we searched for 3 hours and could not find it, went deer hunting last winter and hunted from the same spot as I started to get up to go get the deer I shot I was walking and looked down and I found it, picked it up emptied the mag. wouldn’t trust the ammunition after laying out like that, took it home cleaned it, took it out fired 500 rounds that day ( NO PROBLEMS!!!) I don't understand how this really makes Taurus better, frankly. I mean, I'd understand if you lost both a Glock and your Taurus and the Glock didn't survive but the Taurus did. However, obviously that isn't the case for you. Cool story either way.

    I
Make no mistake, I'm a die hard Glock fan. I own several, and have owned many different models and none have ever failed or disappointed me.
I bought a Taurus G2C a couple years ago after my gunshop dealer put it in my hand and I loved the "fit" 8n my hand, and to be honest, the price seemed ridiculously low. I bought it as a "truck gun," sort of a "anything is better than nothing" gun, and if it got stolen I wouldn't cry too much like I would one of my Glocks. But then I started carrying it, and shooting it, still expecting it to fail. It didn't. And it hasn't. And it has replaced my G19 as my EDC. I bought two more for less than the price of one Glock. This is an awesome, very 'shootable gun being sold at half the cost of similar quality compact 9mm pistols. Kudos to Taurus for upping their game!

Same here. I've owned and carried several different Glocks over the years and I've had great luck with them. But a couple of weeks ago, I traded my new, unfired GLOCK gen 4 19 for a new, unfired G2C. I got 5 12 round mags with the Taurus. And I also got an old, made in '65, Astra 22 revolver, in decent shape in the deal. I've had Taurus guns over the years and have had good luck with them too. But I had some horrible experiences with Taurus customer service. I tell you what, this G2c just fits my hand ! And, it holds 13 rounds. I carry it in a pocket holster and it just disappears. It's just a great carry gun ! I have an early gen 3 - 23 Glock I've carried for years when I want to hip carry. So that 19 just set in a drawer. I never used it. I really like this G2c! I carry it more than I do my 23 since I got it. Sometimes I back it up with my S&W 642 38. I'll have to say, Taurus really got it right this time! It's just the perfect carry gun for me ! It's sitting on the table right beside me as I'm writing this. Oh, and I did buy a Glock 43, single stack 9mm last summer. It felt good in my hand- but I did quickly feel kinda silly spending almost $500 on a 7 shot pistol. And then, after only 3 weeks of carry, it rusted on me. And I mean rusted ! Internally and on the outside. And I had been wiping it down. Man, I was pissed ! It did clean up pretty good, and I quickly sold it ! After that, I did read that the model 43 was having rust issues. So yeah, I traded my 19 Glock for a Taurus ! And I'm fine with it. Lol.

And there are 30+ round mags available for the Taurus from at least two manufacturers, now. Glock has 30+ years of folks making parts compared to less than 10 for the G2 series of pistols. The Millennium PRO turned out to be a bust with the internal safety/drop issues. The G2 pushed past that, but wasn't there all the way, then the G2C evolves from that, and is rapidly becoming a huge hit for Taurus.

What if the G2C was $500? That's a good question.
I can afford a $500 carry pistol. I own several full sized pistols in the $600-800 dollar range. So price doesn't really factor for me. I can tell you my EDC is a Taurus G2. Why? #1 reliability(2000+ rounds....no failures) #2 shootability (comfortable with the gun and love the grip) #3 capacity(12+1...only other gun that comes close is the 365...which has had some serious failures)
So, if the G2C were to cost $500. Then I would pay 500. Easy as that. Fortunately it costs 200. So I own 3. One for my EDC, one for my truck, and one for my bug out bag.
Not convinced? Its only $200. Buy it...try it....its only $200. You will be pleasantly surprised.

The G2 has 3 great advantages over the Glock that really puts it on top. 1) it can be found at a much lower price that the Glock can't touch. 2) It has 2nd strike capability that allows more realistic dry fire practice in that you DO NOT have to cycle the slide after each dry fire trigger pull. 3) The G2 has has a rail for mounting accessories, the Glock 26 does not. You can attach a Mantis X 10 System to that rail so that it can enhance both your dry fire and live fry practice. All 3 of these items will work synergistically together as to make you a better shooter faster and cheaper. When you add all this to the fact that the Taurus PT 111 G2 has been around for a long time and the G2C and G2S are follow-on generations of this production line , and all 3 of these particular generations has garnered a very good reputation for reliability, really makes the G2C / G2S hard to beat. You can have a Glock 26 for 20 years and the Taurus for only 10 years, and you'll be a better shooter for it, -- given all that was mentioned above. And that's the name of the game. That's why the Glock 26 loses out to the G2 Taurus line IMHO.

All very reliable and easy to shoot. My youngest son got me a Canik P9 Elite SC which I carry now. But if I'm open carrying I'll usually still carry the G2C or G3.

I've had my Taurus G2c for 4 months and have put about 650 rounds through it without a single problem. In fact, the gun has actually improved as it took about 500 rounds to break it in. Great balance when loaded and the trigger pull is light for a striker fired semi-automatic. The trigger pull does improve as the gun breaks in. This firearm is my every day carry which I carry fully loaded (13) rounds and here's the best part. I got the Taurus G2c in black with 2 extra magazines for a total of 4, a red dot laser sight and some after market grips and I'm in under $400.00. Beat that!

I had a multiple challenging times finding a store in my region of the state that weren't sold out of their Taurus G2c guns. October 2020 I was able to find one for 250 dollars in a large city when I visited my family 150 miles away. I like the Taurus extra safety features as I am new to concealed carry. I appreciate the finger indentations too. My state is constitutional carry, but I wanted a concealed carry because I have to travel through a gun-strict state when I visit my son and grand son. I am a woman in my mid 60's, the Taurus fits my hand very comfortably. My medium size purse is not my favorite choice to conceal but it clicks into a metal holster (which has a waste-band clip) that covers the trigger areas. I bought a $50 stiff gun belt with velcro closure but it is not comfortable and too thick for the grasp of the holster clip. My regular womens' jean waste-bands are not stiff enough. I also have a holster that is more comfortable to wear as it has an iliac-crest stabilizer incorporated. When I am temporarily in or about to be in an uncomfortable setting I unclick the gun from the holster because I can just unzip my purse and the guns position is in line with my hand, otherwise the holster comes out with the gun. I have adjusted the grip screw on the holster to it's limit to hold the gun in when it has a full magazine (none in the chamber) for shaking it while upside down. The gun remains covered in that medium size purse; it remains in the short holster without being clicked in. That way the gun remains with the muzzle in a downward position when it is in the purse and holster. Thanks for addressing women's opinions about the guns and while shooting in your video reviews.

I own several handguns to include Glock, S&W, and my latest addition the G2C. The G2C is now my everyday carry. It’s extremely comfortable, affordable, and really reliable. I put 500 rounds right out of the box through this gun. Not a single misfire, no jamming, love the sights. All around one of my favorite handguns to take to the range.
I disagree about the safety that Taurus put into this gun as far as not trusting the consumer. I have a 7 year old son who loves shooting but having extra safety doesn’t hurt to help prevent accidents. I do agree the biggest safety is the owner. I carry one in the chamber at all times. Having a manual safety was a selling point beyond the price.
My biggest complaint with this gun (G2C) is the trigger is spongy and sloppy. It reminds my of a S&W SD9VE with the pull. All around though it’s a fantastic firearm and I’m actually looking forward to see if Taurus my deliver something as positive as this in the future.
    Great review.

I carry the G2C, I had Glocks in the past and they do work well but I've believe that Taurus along with S&W and any other striker fired guns have basically seen what works for Glock and has basically copied it. And if you leave the safety off on the G2C it operates just like a Glock except for the 2nd strike capability. The G2C beats Glock hands down with the 3 dot adjustable sights. And as far as concealment I prefer the G2C over any double stack Glock, the thinness of the Taurus is more manageable even though the Glock's handle is shorter. Glock is an excellent proven design but I think the G2C edges the G26 out. If my gun is confiscated for any reason and I not getting it back it's better to have $208 invested then $550.

I have several Glocks... simple, dependable and rugged. But... I purchased a Taurus G3c “impulse buy”, and I’m really surprised and impressed. Just as dependable so far, and much better ergonomics. Like you said, the texture on the grip is just fantastic. I personally love the trigger. It reminds me of a rifle style trigger breaking all the way to the back, and the reset is amongst the best in my opinion. This is subjective and I know not everyone will agree. I’ve had a couple of Taurus semi-autos in the past and well, I poo-pooped on them. Stiff and and jammed often. Junk really. Taurus has made major improvements on their semi-auto pistols. This gun is a real winner. You could buy two of these guns and an extra $200 worth of ammo for the same price as its competitors. It’s a no brainer! Durability and longevity is the only unanswered question, time will tell.

I just bought a Taurus G2C to replace my 1903 Colt .32 Pocket Hammerless that I was carrying for several reasons. My Colt .32 has been in my family for four generations (it was manufactured in 1911) and has Tremendous sentimental value so I want to keep it at home. I don't like the European style clip magazine holder for my primary carry pistol either. I wanted to upsize the caliber on my primary carry also and 9mm fit the bill.
So, I researched several smaller size 9mm pistols - Glock 48, Sig Sauer P365 XL, Ruger LC9S, Kel-Tec PF9, along with Taurus' various smaller pistols (I have a Taurus .38 Special Revolver as well so I'm definitely a Taurus fan.).
Glock and Sig Sauer are great but were too expensive, even used (even though I can afford one or even up to an STI Staccato I just can't see paying that much, you know?).
The Ruger and Kel-Tec are great also but are too limited in their mag capacities.
I just kept coming back to Taurus and the G2C pistol over and over. It seems to combine the best of compact size, mag capacity (got a 17 round G2C mag for it), affordability, and accuracy dependability.
The Taurus G2C 9mm is a fantastic pistol for personal defense (open or concealed carry), home defense, and range shooting.

On to my second G2C and the new one, like the first one, was perfect right out of the box. After 500-rounds (right out of the box) perfect. I own a Glock 17, 19 and 42, SIG 320 two 1911's yada, yada, yada.
BUT . . . the G2C is perfect. Too. My first one has 2000-plus rounds through it. Still perfect. No bath either. Dirty perfect is REAL perfect!
The trigger thing is so easy to adjust to AND once you realize that it is blazing fast to get follow up after follow up shots (ACCURATELY ON TARGET) you simply stop thinking that you have a gun in your hands that got there with only a couple of hundred dollars. I have to agree though with the video author. The ONLY worry about the G2C is long-term build quality.
There can be no denying that the G2C is a fantastic pistol once you put everything through it. It eats every kind of cartridge I could find. And I used to have a lot if bullets. Aluminum, steel, 124's 123's (some Turkish stuff) 115's self-defense rounds, you name it! Nothing fazes this gun. It just keeps working and working and working and working. And I just keep smiling and smiling and smiling and smiling.
Glock ahanged the gun world with a incredible design. I mean c'mon now, everyone makes a Glock now. They just have different manufacturers names on 'em.
The G2C revolution, is that it can be done at a price that is almost as if you are having a dream that a 200ish dollar pistol can be so fantastic. As fantastic as your Glock 19.
    Well enough said.
Buy a G2C (if that is what you can call a 200-dollar purchase of a fine pistol). And be amazed.
Smiling is beneficial for good health. By the way.

I buy pricey guns. But I chose the sig p320 over a Glock when being price comparable. And I chose a Taurus pt111 or G2C over Glock.
I found the grip more comfortable and sights easier to pick up on with the p320.
On the Taurus. I mean at $200, it was better in every way. Capacity, grip length, sights despite the lack of a shelf, overall looks, grip texture, and meaningful safeties for novice shooters yet, the safety is so flush to the gun and so stiff, you can keep it off safety without interference and still have the trigger safety. Or you can use the safety to be well... Extra cautious. Which in some cases, we need that extra measure of safety.
Glock pricing is ridiculous. I think sig pricing is overdone as well when you factor in the sig p250 entry price was $299. The P320 should have been $419 without night sights. $499 with.
The Glock, should be $399 with standard sights. $449 with night sights. $120 too expensive as a general polymer gun just based on a name.
As far as reliability goes? Taurus lifetime warranty should make you more comfortable in owning the Taurus. So while longevity may be questionable on a small level? You're covered.
Finally, value. Taurus presents your exact argument about buying ammo. $300 will buy you 1000 rounds of fm $160, 2 extra mags $50 and still have money for eye $10 and hearing protection $15 and even a day at the range fees. $65 $500 bought you a lot with the Taurus. Glock, you still gotta borrow $79 more from your homeboy. Lol. Taurus wins.
Coming back in to say. $70 cerakote and $60 truglo sights will bring your Taurus up to $330. At this point you'd have a comparable finish and top tier sights. $330. Still $200 cheaper than your cheapest Glock.

One argument i see about Glocks is the mags the parts the holsters etc. Well if I'm saving $300 out the gate I can buy all of that and STILL have money left over for sights ammo etc

I just bought a G3 T.O.R.O. to go with my PT111 millennium G2 and the G2C. Next is the G3C. The trigger on the G3s are a big improvement over the G2s. These guns are great and Taurus keeps getting better with their Glock clones. This whole G series is cheap enough to collect them all and still only be in for as much as a couple of Glocks. G2c is my EDC for now but the full size G3 carries VERY WELL and I am thinking about switching out. Thanks for the thorough review.

lol as any basic pistol course would tell you, a manual safety is a mechanical device that can fail and should not be a substitute for lack of firearm safety. Are revolvers unsafe or do they cause more NEGLIGENT discharges? The correct term is negligent, because it's the operators fault. The fault of the gun is rare, follow the simple rules and manual safeties on a striker gun is incredible useless and possibly a determent if used in self defense.

Former USMC marksmanship instructor here. I taught officers to shoot with the godawful Beretta 92 and it's too-fat handle. I own a G2C and it fits my hand(s) really well, shoots really well, and is easy to carry and take care of. Zero issues in 2 years and 1000+ through it.
Never met a Glock I didn't like. Bad handle angle, funky weight/balance. Someone called it a 2x4 once and that's a good descriptor.
To each their own, though. Shoot what you can hit stuff with.

My G2C is perfect for me. I love the double stack magazines. Although it’s a bit hard to get all 12 rounds in when you first buy it. After you fire a couple hundred rounds through it, it becomes easier. I bought this gun in June of 2020, it’s already gone up almost $100. Get it while you can.

@@grumpysquid I've put more than 2K rounds true my 2G - and after 1 time I've get few FTE with only some brand of ammo (i guess it was Tulammo) it was not happens any one more time. Trigger was initially a little bit hard to go true the break point, but now it perfectly OK. One more thing Glock 26 short handle is so uncomfortable for me - it was disqualifying issue - big difference with G2C.

I've carried the G2C for over a year now. I carry one in the chamber. I have hardwood floors and have dropped it twice. No issues. I've got about 2k rounds through it. I've only had 1 or 2 jams with the TulAmmo. It's never had issues with any other brands of ammo. I took the $400 that I saved and spent it on upgrades for the gun. Stainless steel guide rod, trigger, sights, and stainless steel striker guide all on Ebay/amazon. I still had money left over.
