this was very helpful. After watching the video I understood where the screws would be for the venturi and I just hand felt everything since I could not see. I used a socket by itself to install the orifice. It gave me more to hang onto when trying to feel where it screws back in. My dryer is not raised as we are going to stack a second dryer when it comes in. This makes it difficult to see into the machine. Also, the left screw on the venturi that missed the base was a good tip too. Mine missed it the first time. thanks
Your video made the installation of the LP Kit simpler than the GE Directions. It was an easy installation. Our dryer was a bit different. We had an Ethernet connection behind the slide off cover. The cable was long enough that the control panel could be placed on top of the dryer. I am happy I needed to put an LP kit in the dryer. One of the connectors on the gas valve was not connected. Spinning a wet load of cloths with no heat would have been a bummer. Thanks, Terry.
Looks like you got the inevitable large appliance sheetmetal scratch/cut on your hand. It is June of 2022 as I type this. I have repaired our 12 year old Maytag gas dryer many times, broken drive belts, solenoids, drive motor, etc. We finally went out and bought a GE 55 series washer and gas dryer set. I am looking forward to doing this conversion this weekend, our washer and dryer will be ready for pick up on 6-11-2022. This video will be a great help. The conversion kit was available on Amazon for around 70.00. I chose the GE line because the doors are reversible on both the washer and dryer, this feature will fit our laundry room perfectly.
Hello. I'm switching a GE PFD95GSPT1DS from NG to LP. Question: Do I need to install the air shutter with the little screw onto the venturi to sleeve over the orifice? BTW, I had to replace the NG check valve with the spring-loaded LP straw-head from kit # WE25M87, and the orifice came from kit# WE25X217 for the threads on each to match. I had both kit as I didn't know which would be correct. Good thing I had both..
Just an FYI, don't overtorque the orifice, it will sheer right off. Once it gets tight just leave it, don't try to tighten it just a bit more. Also you can take the whole gas unit off and it makes things much easier to get to. There is another video on YT that shows you how to do that.
Awsome video thank you this was such a great help
Exactly what I needed for my GFD55 dryer. Thank you!!!
Super, Thank you
Thank you for recording this video, it made the conversion very easy.
Glad it helped
Thanks man, very clear and informative. I appreciate you.

Hi there. Did the conversion. However the dryer dries but it takes a SUPER long time to dry. Any suggestions?? Thank you
I really appreciate your time and effort here. Your excellent video made the conversion to propane a piece of cake. Thanks!
You’re the man! Thank you! Worst instructions from GE ever!! Thank you for doing this video!
Thank you very much for this excellent tutorial Sir! You made my day a lot easier
Thank you! Your tutorial is spot on. Dryer works great!
glad to help!
Hola quisieramos saber q hacer pues haciendo la convercion se nos partio la rosca de la pieza de atras en el hueco donde va
Same instructions for the GFD45GS?
This was spot on and made the conversion a breeze. Thanks!
Thanks for your video, I changed mine over, it was easy to follow thank you
Glad it helped
I just did this conversion and have never had a gas dryer before. It seems very loud when the burner is running. Is that normal?
Louder than electric but not too loud.
Great video! I know exactly what I need to do.....now if only I could get my fat hands inside and wrapped around enough to remove the inner screws!
Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video. Was definitely a help to me!
Thanks for this vid! You really got in there!
Thanks. I could've done it alone but would've had at least 3 broken plastic front plate pieces by the time i got done haha.
glad to have helped!
Thanks for the great video
Your a really cool person
Great video! Thank you for taking the time to post it...... How do you like the washer/dryer?
Drier works well. Washer was DOA. Working with GE to get it fixed/replaced. They’re customer service is a nightmare.

Is there any reason you can think of that we would not have heat after following the video to convert our new dryer?
Did you turn the gas back on?
@@harrier417 yup
@@Reneeahoke Do you smell gas? Is the igniter glowing?
@@harrier417 The igniter is glowing and we do not smell gas we therefore think gas is not getting through but we’re not sure why.
Purchased the model GFD55GSSNWW...store suggested conversion kit WE25X0217? Is this correct?
That kit won’t work. The threads are different. Use WE25M87.
@@harrier417 a bit aggravating, that’s what they suggest...and then find out you have to order on your own...stores seem a little clueless
It sure is. I had the same experience a year ago.
Who came here from ti my ok
Great stuff, thank you! Worked like a charm.
