Ahh, so this is the previous model by TCA, had one myself. At first I thought you were doing a review on the latest 2023 model with inbuilt GPS receiver, which I have now instead - it definitely does not do APRS I'm afraid, but is a nice radio nonetheless
@@OopsieAI believe the one he’s reviewing is an older model from 2017 they recently updated it this year the one he has it just a fake antenna but on the new radio it’s a real gps module
I did the same damn thing with the Tri KDU recently… I noticed you said the pin out is different… wonder if it’d be possible to modify the pin out to work with the TCA? Apparently the new TCAs from 2023 are “KDU compatible”… assuming that means no TCAs were before 2023…?
@@abccde3832 yeah I recently had to come to grips with the fact I’m just going to have to buy another radio to be able to use the KDU like I was hoping to… ballllls.
Chinese competitors I guess. What I'm trying to say that between different brands there is very little need or wish to make kdus cross compatible. @@IvyMike551
@@abccde3832 You'd think the manufacturers would try to keep the data port pin-outs as close to the Harris as possible. Of course they're probably all using different digital protocols anyway, so I guess they weren't worried about it.
use any 18650 battery you wish- streamlight batteries are good quality, but you certainly pay a premium unless you find them on sale. I bought a set of 6 18650's with charger from fleabay and charge them outside of the radios.

Hi, what's different between the GPS model and this one he's reviewing?

I have a 2023 TCA 152A and the GPS just gives coordinates. Do you think mine is a genuine 2023 model?
@@williamhowe4216 yes, it's the real 2023 model

So basically the tiny antenna on the back is for the GPS? also, could you do a video showing us the insides of the PRC-152?
Quantos Wats no máximo de potência tem esse rádio?
Where did you buy this particular model? None of the ones I find say Harris at start up
2:50 Menu 20 is for the startup logo.
The TX audio issue might be because it has an ultra narrowband audio setting (2.5KHz). Check to see if it can be reset to 5KHz dev.

I hate that there is no standardization. No brands are compatible, even different versions between same brands are apparently not.

What good is 10 W if antenna is rated for 5W? You could be damaging radio transmitter since electricity bounce back. (also known as SWR)
Is this encrypted?
Its does not have encrytion or hopping but it does have tone coded squelch
That model does not have basically baofeng guts. You should’ve done some research. The older models did, not that one.
That's what he said? Lol
Put a top on
sony guts lol
это не реальный PRC. это обман
He already mentioned that in the video
It's not a 'hoax'. It's a lookalike, designed to mimic the appearance and some of the functionality of the real thing.
