arent they like $70k flatrate, the real ones?
To be honest, I have no idea how much real 152's are. Or in this case what Harris sells them to the government for.
I know I've seen a few real ones pop up on ebay for around the 10k mark. Honey pot as fuck tho
@@fatjtaclarper2787 must be worth every penny.
@@thatonescrambler I don't think it would work properly without the proper programming equipment honestly, and you would have to spend alot of time learning SINGAR and time slotting!
@@fatjtaclarper2787 I misspoke, brass must think they're worth every penny to be worth as much as a house.
Last time I saw the values, it was around $5k for a normal 152, and $30k for the GPS capable ones.
Do not forget the FCA (falcon 152 clone)
I don't have one of those either lol
Do you need a ham liscenes
Not with allocated frequencies in the GMRS/FRS frequencies and the MURS frequencies.
@@fatjtaclarper2787 thanks
Battery life for the tca?
On high power mode you're looking at about 6 hours (frequent use). So about 9 hours of frequent use from full charge. I have not tested it with real Harris batteries yet.
the newer tri are 15w
I have the programming cable and the software
Are these just glorified baofengs?
I mean, did you watch the video lol
@@fatjtaclarper2787 No
@@blbreptiles4126 Amazing
@@fatjtaclarper2787 are they?
@@blbreptiles4126 Would put them slightly above baoefeng, well at least TCA and FCS 152.
I think I’ll just stick to my real one
They are nothing close to the baofeng. The tca is a much better radio, since 2022. The batteries are t awkward. They work the same as a real 152
@ReconB4V in terms of interface and capabilities, it's actually very similar to a baofeng, especially with menu options. This is overall indicative of most Chinese ham products. It doesn't offer AES256 encryption, DMR or P25 Trunking, so there really isn't much that sets it apart software wise.
@ you could say that about any basic radio… these are pretty far from a POS baofeng and have been for quite a few years.
Why buying replicas ??? The motorola is perfect …
Motorola's also aren't dual band. Most people at these events are running baofengs, so it makes more sense to adapt to communication methods rather then expecting everyone to know Motorola CPS and invest in them.
Plastic can crack, eventhough motorolas are tought. TCA/TRI/FCS they connect to mics, ears pros, comms, all rugged genuine stuff, Can handle whip antennas with TNC connectors well since its all metal ( SMA on plastic radios are a lot more fragile) and swapable Harris batteries.
You NEED an FCC license to even be touching the ptt button. Don't just go out and buy one of these and think, "I'm just milsim" it's a $10k fine for FCC ham radio licensure violation!
That is 1000% incorrect, you DO NOT NEED a ham lisence if you are allocated on the correct frequencies, don't be a ham fudd and don't spread false information.
"MURS is licensed by rule. This means an individual license is not required for an entity to operate a MURS transmitter if it is not a representative of a foreign government and if it uses the transmitter in accordance with the MURS rules outlined in 47 C.F.R."
"The FRS is authorized 22 channels in the 462 MHz and 467 MHz range, all of which are shared with GMRS. FRS is licensed by rule. This means an individual license is not required to operate an FRS radio provided you comply with the rules."
Imagine being this big of a fucking boomer lmao
