    Thank you.... thank you.... thank you.... We have the same problem in our 385GK.. I thought it might be a clogged nozzle but it was fine. I didn't know about the restrictor and now I do... Thank you again and happy belated birthday Liz..

Trailer has been in storage all this time for several reasons but the other day I took the faucet apart just like you guys did and low and behold it's fixed. I had no idea that restrictor was there until I saw this video so thank you again for posting it.

    Thanks for breaking that all down to show the steps you went through to diagnose the problem. It was very helpful. Good choice on the pressure regulator also. We have a similar one. It's helpful to be able to dial in the correct pressure.
    Happy birthday, Liz. Even if Paul is older than you, from where we're standing, you're both still kids. We are both 64 years old, so 58 seems youthful to us.😉

    By mistake I found a hack for the water issue. Left my fresh water drain plugs off and turned water on, got all the air out of the system. Of course had to turn water back off, replace drain plugs. Worked great the rest of the weekend.

    Happy Birthday Liz! Sometimes the campground you are at sabotages your water supply as what happened to us once. They had a broken main which they repaired but never flushed the lines afterwards. All of the dirt that got into the line eventually made it to everyone’s camper. Our filter did not stop all of it so it caused havoc with our water system for some time. Safe travels and stay well.

    • @LizAmazing
      @LizAmazing  3 роки тому +1

      Yay! Glad we could help. Paul says it's two Phillips head screws on the jam nut and it will spin right off. We should probably post this on the 310 facebook page, but we want to be sensitive to not be "self-promoting." If you feel like posting it there or on the Solitude page, that's fine by us. And let us know how it goes when you take your faucet apart.

    Thank you for this video. Struggling all week with low sink pressure in my new little guy max . All I had to do was unscrew the sprayer and wiggle the screen around.. Bam! Instant pressure. I wonder if the regulator was stuck or a little clogged. I’m on the road so didn’t have time to take apart the faucet, which is my next step. I’m sure there is buildup.

    Often in any new construction, small pieces of material from cutting the lines will clog up your plumbing/faucets. Usually it’s a plumber is lazy to not clean the cut before assembly that makes it worse quicker.

    A little late but I had a New 2008 Discover America for 11 years that had a similar problem......those particles you dug out of the restrictor were from the water heater. I got an 3/4" 100 mesh brass Y-strainer and installed in the line coming out of the water heater....the bigger size has a bigger screen capacity...Even a whole hose water filter wouldn't have prevented that........never had another problem.

    Happy Birthday Lizzie!! I had the same issue when my handyman installed a large double black sink in my kitchen last spring; he had to cut out a bigger hole to put the sink in; and when we first ran the faucet it pretty much just dribbled! I was SO upset; after all that effort of buying the sink having it shipped; measuring n finding a person to put it in (took me 3 months to locate someone that wouldnt charge too much) THEN the tap DRIBBLED! after a phone call to a plumber he then took the faucet apart and found piles of sawdust etc in the end nozzle which apparently is VERY common! so he took out the restricter mesh and voila! ample water no problem... ok now What kinda cake you getting?? i like black forest cake or fudge cake with rasperberry filling mmmm...and pizza.....

    • @gagscop
      @gagscop 3 роки тому +1

      Hi! yes, water softeners remove sediment and do a lot more, specially around getting rid of hard water, which is water with mineral content too high. the one i use is the "on the go" brand and in their instructions is where they recommend putting it after the water filter. Reason for me to use is because we are most of the time in Florida which has a lot of hard water, if we were, say, in Oregon most of the time, i would not need it as much. What you guys showed in your faucet looks to me more like hard water residue than sediment. Hope that helps! and Happy Birthday Liz!

    Paul sounds like a plumber to me! Handy guys can just fix things - even if they don't have specific knowledge of a system. Jerry builds model trains and layouts, so he understands wiring systems and is good with electricity and building tools in general, but he just osmotically understands plumbing and things. He can look at something that baffles me and see what needs to be done.
    Happy birthday! You're both younger than I am. :-))
    Re-washing dishes inside, I think I'll stick to the camping method, just doing a once over outside at the faucet. That's served me well for decades. I have never - in three RVs - done dishes inside. But we just go away for a week or three. That's a whole different ball of wax than actually living in the thing and trying to have a semblance of a normal life. But if I'd been indoors in Golden BC washing dishes instead of at the spigot, I would've missed the big black bear that lumbered through the campsite about 8 feet behind me. Highlight of the trip!

    • @LizAmazing
      @LizAmazing  3 роки тому

      Oh my gosh! Yes, faucet washing has it's advantages for sure. For us that would also be not filling up our gray tank. Glad that big black bear didn't mess with you!!! And we cannot wait to explore Canada, especially BC. Truly so much to see!
      Thanks so much for the birthday wishes, has truly been a wonderful day.
      So are you on the road? Did you get out camping? We sure hope so and that you are away from all that smoke.
      Yes, Paul has that same mentality where he can just figure things out. He makes me laugh because he will just stare at something and wonder how it comes apart. As in...our fireplace! I'm like, leave it alone- don't mess with it! :-)

    • @trishbenedict6588
      @trishbenedict6588 3 роки тому

      Liz Amazing No, still housebound. It's been so hot and so smoky that we really don't know where to go. And I always have this feeling that maybe we should be near here in case we need to load up the vehicles and evacuate. It's not that we're in a super high fire zone but it's all a fire zone. People in Santa Rosa subdivisions didn't feel like they were in a fire zone, either. Coffey Park, a basic flatlands tract, was totally wiped out.
      When we lived in the Oakland hills in the '90s, we were only 1 mile along the ridgeline from where the big Oct, 1991 Oakland Hills firestorm stopped. It took out 3000 homes within a 5-15 minute drive of us. So far the AQI has been under 200. If it got any higher, I think we would leave and try to drive into Nevada to Great Basin. But heading north doesn't seem practical with the fires up there and the heat. It's been in the 100° range a lot. Nowhere south of us for a long ways that isn't hot and smoky. We're trying to decide where to go and thinking maybe we'll shoot for next week. But if it's really hot out there, there's really no point in going anywhere just to hole up in a cramped B van when we can sit around in a roomy air-conditioned condo.
      The bear is another story. I was busy washing my dishes under the faucet when from a couple of camping rows away I heard someone say calmly but with urgency "there's a bear behind you". I thought it was kids goofing around, there had been some teenagers or college kids horsing around out there earlier. And it was about two rows away. But I stood up and turned around and there is this hulking bear lumbering right behind me through our site. The water was running and I didn't hear him at all. I've watched enough nature shows that I know that you can't outrun a beer, and I know that what you're supposed to do if you're attacked is drop, cover your head and neck and play dead, which is totally non-intuitive. But I thought, "I can do that". But he just kept lumbering through, so I pretended like I hadn't even noticed him and just ambled into our little A-frame trailer, knowing full well that it provided next to zero protection if he decided to rip his way in. And then I said, "Jerry Jerry there's a bear outside!" And we cracked the door and watched through a slit as he got to the end of the site, turned around, stood his full height of, I don't know, 8 feet? and went up and down up and down scratching his back on the tree. Straight out of Central Casting! Then he lumbered on. I found out later that he was heading for the dumpsters. A been-there-done-that kind of bear... (unfortunately it was nearly dark, so I couldn't get a picture. Black bear against dark tree. Now, with my iPhone 11 Pro camera, I could have, but the old 6 was terrible at lowlight pictures. I probably should've tried anyway, but I didn't.)

    Good to know. It looks like mineral deposit build up. Do you know what your filter sizes are? I use a 5 micron into a .5 micron filter. Although not perfect, it seems to filter a good portion of mineral sediment before it gets into the trailer water lines. Happy birthday.

    • @LizAmazing
      @LizAmazing  3 роки тому

      Hi Road Hog! Paul says ours are 5 micron. The problem with some of those is the water goes through a pinhole and they can drastically reduce water pressure. We do need some kind of filter for the minerals though.

    Thats crazy that sediment went through all the filters and screens that are before the water even gets to the system and reaches the sink in your new rig. Do you have a anode rod in your water heater? My '19 coachmen adrenaline says one is not needed but there is still a place to put one. Im just curious if it would help? Maybe try one and then try a ridiculously expensive filter system and let us know what works! Love u guys, i learn alot from you especially Liz. • @LizAmazing
      @LizAmazing  3 роки тому

      Good point about the filters. So now after thinking about this we think it must be hard water. We will probably need a water softener. And we do have an anode and check it. We show it in this video (boy they get gunked up quick!): ua-cam.com/video/pGZDrbdlmL4/v-deo.html

    That much crud in the restrictor had to be in the system when the RV was built. The water filters would had trapped anything coming in from the outside. Water filters are like 20 micron or less depending on the filter.

    • @LizAmazing
      @LizAmazing  3 роки тому

      That's a great point. And the more we think about it the more we are realizing that that crud was probably calcium. It could be hard water that is the problem. We are researching that now. Thanks for your comment!
