@@FixItFrench The trick was finding out that I could use the cold water line to back flush the hot line from the faucet. Got all kinds of grit out. The hot water flow had been 1/3 of the cold. Now they are nearly matched.

I have an issue with laundry sink low pressure to no hot water. Cold works fine. I’ve tried your steps and have let cold water run thru the hot line under the sink so any debris gets out. It did run thru fine however when put back together, the hot water still doesn’t come on. I’ve tried replacing the Gerber cartridge as well but no luck. I’ve also checked that the hot from main does reach under the sink. Any suggestions?
This video helped me solve the issue! I went to Home Depot and they told me I needed a new cartridge for the hot water side of the faucet as it was just trickling. I tried that and it did not work. Then I watched this video and I did would you instructed by running the cold water and then a whole bunch of debris shot out of the hot water hose into a container and that did the trick! Thank you!

Great video. Brand new Franke faucet with terrible flow both temps. The amount of gunk in both feeds was stunning. My daughter did it with me and now she knows how to fix it too.
Yes when changing new faucets, it’s a good idea to let the water run a few seconds before connecting the hoses. When the water shuts off, it builds up sediment and often times will get into the brand new faucet. Glad you guys were able to get it figure it out 👍🏼👍🏼

Hi, I am here because I'm having low to zero water pressure with my cold water. I'll try what you've so kindly demonstrated and see if it solves my issue. I'm so surprised at how just a little debris in the pipes can make a huge difference in the water flow.
like the simple solution of using one side (cold) to flush out the other. will try tomorrow. if it doesn’t fix the problem, then it’s on to cleaning out the faucet valves. fun for the whole family.
My father in law was going to co e by and show me how to replace the valves in our bathroom. The water pressure was terrible. There was debris in the diffuser! Fixed in 30 seconds! Thank you!

Big dumb heads don’t fix things! So looks like you’re not dumb at all! You’d be surprised at the things you could accomplish, even if it seems like stuff only men do! I believe in you!
thank you so much for this video! I tried it and at first the water pressure came back great, but then (again) there was a thump and it slowed to a trickle again. It seems like there's sediment or something that catches up and blocks it again. Any thoughts?? repeat the process?
You can repeat this process as many times as you want and you should help for quite awhile. If the sediment keeps coming back, then the root of your problem is probably your water heater. Old water heaters build up large amounts of sediment over time and eventually get into your water lines. Hope this helps
@@FixItFrench thank you so much for your speedy reply!! I will try this procedure again. It's actually the cold water I am having the issue with. I'm not sure if the water heater could be involved there too. I was thinking I can try cleaning out the cold water supply junction (not sure what it's called) after detaching the faucet supply , see if there seems to be any junk I can get out with a pipe cleaner or something. We have hard water in my area so that may be causing problems.
Hey man great video! What if I have a newly installed cold line faucet? How do I make it flow backwards? I removed some debris caught in the aerator but still having low pressure. What do you suggest I should do?
You can do this same process with the cold water as well. 1. Turn off cold water 2. Remove cold water line from the valve 3. Turn on hot water to clean out the hose I hope this helps 🤙🏼🤙🏼
@@FixItFrench new construction, it was fine and all a sudden a few months, I noticed my hot water trickle. Scared, hopefully the valve doesn’t slowly close itself again lol
Sorry if this has been answered and I missed it... in my case it's the cold that lost pressure. One handle for mixed water at faucet. I checked the aerator, no better. I tried pushing hot through as recommended, no better. What is next step. The only other observation is that with the cold valve off, water continues to dribble up from below - not much but not nothing. Next step?
Personally I would do the same steps multiple times. If that doesn’t help there are filter screens between the valves that can also get clogged up. Hope this helps you👍🏼👍🏼
That’s what I would do! If that doesn’t work there is a filter screen between the valves in the handles. There should be a small screw hole on each handle that lets you remove the handles and access these filters. Hope this helps🤙🏼🤙🏼
What about if I did all of these steps, even cleared out a little debris, and yet the hot water (only hot, cold is working normal) pressure is still severely low?
You can try cleaning out the debris a few more times. If it’s still low after that, the debris may be clogged inside the actual faucet. At that point it’s pretty hard to remove. This next part may sound hard but it’s pretty easy. There is a filter screen between the (on/off) valves, that gets pretty dirty as well. That’s worth trying, I hope this helps a little bit👍🏼
@@FixItFrench I will try that. Do you think it could possibly be the cartridge needing to be cleared out? (Its one faucet for both hot and cold- not two separate faucets) Or do you think that would make the cold water pressure equally low? (which it isn't)
@@Michaeladechatillon it could be but most kitchen sinks today don’t make it easy to clean them. I would at least give it a try if you can get the handles off
@@apocalypse9347 hope this helps, if that doesn’t help there is a filter screen for the first valve. You might check that too, but most of the time cleaning the hoses does the trick
On most faucets there are small holes on each handle. Remove the screws from those holes and under each handle will be a filter screen that you can clean out as well
My sinks on first and second floor are like that. But I don't have hoses its pipes. All my other sinks work fine and showers just these two. They are on the same pipeline I 🤔
There should be a turn off valve connected to the pipes, and then a hose connected to the other side of the valve Then just follow the steps in the video
@@maclima7257 Ok if that's the case you probably won't have this issue. If debris is the problem, its probably in your faucet. Those copper pipes rarely will got clogged up. A new faucet would probably be the easiest way to get better pressure. Hope this helps you a little bit
I am so bummed! I've been having a problem with the cold water in my kitchen sink having very little pressure, while the hot water has plenty of pressure! I followed your instructions, but it didn't help the pressure at all! I don't know if it's just time to get a new faucet! [The spray hose is already not working! That broke years ago! If you hit the "on" button for the sprayer, it locks closed both the hot and cold water, plus there is nothing coming out of the hose! Last time that happened, it took a lot of fiddling to finally get the hot/cold faucets to work again! I just don't use the sprayer anymore!!]
I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. If I am being honest with you, it sounds like you need a faucet. If the sprayer is that corroded, than the rest of the faucet problem is backed up with all kinds of stuff. Faucets aren't really that expensive. I would personally pay the money for something brand new, instead of paying a plumber to come fix an old one. I hope you get it figured out though. Best of luck
@@FixItFrench thanks for the info! We were kind of thinking that it may just be time for a new faucet! Honestly, compared to a lot of what we've had to mess with trying to get it to work correctly, it would have been easier to just put a new faucet in!!
Hey Janice, I’m afraid this method isn’t going to work for you because copper is soldered on to the turn valves. Make sure you check the aerator. Copper pipes are much less likely to have this type of build up. Hope this helps 👍🏼👍🏼

Saved me a plumber much appreciated!!
Awesome! Glad I could help 🤙🏼🤙🏼
GOD USED YOU AND I PRAY HE WILL CONTINUE TO BLESS YOUR HANDS🙏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you do mush for the kind words, thank even more for the prayers! The Man upstairs sure has blessed me in this life👍🏼
thank you so much for this video!
@@aliceclements1 yes you can do this process on both the hot and the cold lines. Just make sure you do one at a time
God bless you and your awesome institution. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I am glad I could help!!! 👍👍
For me it's the first HUGE common issue LOL 😀
Haha love to hear I could help!!👍🏼👍🏼
Hey man great video! What if I have a newly installed cold line faucet? How do I make it flow backwards? I removed some debris caught in the aerator but still having low pressure. What do you suggest I should do?
You can do this same process with the cold water as well.
1. Turn off cold water
2. Remove cold water line from the valve
3. Turn on hot water to clean out the hose
I hope this helps 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks so much! It helped me!
Glad I could help!!!!👍
don't forget to check the cartridge. that galvanize tee shouldn't be used as a coupling. A good plumber should remove any galvanize on water systems.
Thanks for the extra tip 👍
Nice. Not sure why, but one of my valves like slowly started closing itself, I just had to open the valve fully and it worked
Glad you got it fixed! 👍🏼Must have been a pretty old valve
@@FixItFrench new construction, it was fine and all a sudden a few months, I noticed my hot water trickle. Scared, hopefully the valve doesn’t slowly close itself again lol
@@jhtrico1850 hopefully not, glad you got it fixed
Sorry if this has been answered and I missed it... in my case it's the cold that lost pressure. One handle for mixed water at faucet. I checked the aerator, no better. I tried pushing hot through as recommended, no better. What is next step. The only other observation is that with the cold valve off, water continues to dribble up from below - not much but not nothing. Next step?
Personally I would do the same steps multiple times. If that doesn’t help there are filter screens between the valves that can also get clogged up.
Hope this helps you👍🏼👍🏼
@@FixItFrench thank you
it was the aerator thanks!
Awesome!! Glad I was able to help
You’re a hero bro
Glad I could help 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!!
You are welcome! So glad I could help🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks for the help bud. You saved me couple bucks getting a plumber. Should rather buy you some lunch!
Haha I’ll take a free lunch anytime🤣 glad I could help🤙🏼
Now what happens if both sides are clogged? Do you this same procedure to both hoses? Thanks
That’s what I would do! If that doesn’t work there is a filter screen between the valves in the handles.
There should be a small screw hole on each handle that lets you remove the handles and access these filters. Hope this helps🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thank you so much. I didn’t know what to do.
Glad I could help!👍🏼👍🏼
You were right there was a small pebble thank you !!!
Awesome! It seems crazy that those small pieces of debris can stop the water flow, but it does. So glad I was able to help!
Excellent tip thank you! Fixed my issue.
Awesome!!! Glad I could help🤙🏼🤙🏼
I love this channel! Such an informational video
Thank you so much! If you don't mind, what do you specifically like about this channel?
@@FixItFrench the dog was my favorite part, but this was very informative
🎉 it worked ! Great video ! THANKS
Glad I could help🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
Thanks for the video it helped me and saved me some money 💰
I love hearing this! So glad I could help
(Its one faucet for both hot and cold- not two separate faucets)
Or do you think that would make the cold water pressure equally low? (which it isn't)
@@FixItFrench PS- Thank you
@@Michaeladechatillon it could be but most kitchen sinks today don’t make it easy to clean them. I would at least give it a try if you can get the handles off
@@Michaeladechatillon 🤙🏼🤙🏼
Great video!
My aerator is clean but I still don’t have pressure in both hot and cold.
It almost to a drip.
Suggestions?
Thanks.
I would clean out the hose as I did in the video, but do it in both sides. Hopefully that will fix the problem👍🏼
@@FixItFrench thanks.
@@apocalypse9347 hope this helps, if that doesn’t help there is a filter screen for the first valve. You might check that too, but most of the time cleaning the hoses does the trick
@@FixItFrench thanks again
What do you suggest looking at if that didn’t solve the problem?
On most faucets there are small holes on each handle. Remove the screws from those holes and under each handle will be a filter screen that you can clean out as well
My sinks on first and second floor are like that. But I don't have hoses its pipes. All my other sinks work fine and showers just these two. They are on the same pipeline I 🤔
There should be a turn off valve connected to the pipes, and then a hose connected to the other side of the valve
Then just follow the steps in the video
Yeah whoever built the house use copper pipes instead of hoses to connect to the valve.
@@maclima7257 Ok if that's the case you probably won't have this issue. If debris is the problem, its probably in your faucet. Those copper pipes rarely will got clogged up. A new faucet would probably be the easiest way to get better pressure. Hope this helps you a little bit
Thank you! This video helps me a lot!
Glad I could help👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks this was of great help 👍.
Glad I could help!! 🤙🏼
@@amyralls6218 Yeah, I'm the same way though. I try to fix anything no matter how bad its gotten lol
HELP! I'm having the same issue but I don't have the hose like you, mine are thin pipes so I don't know how to test the hot water side.
Hey Janice, I’m afraid this method isn’t going to work for you because copper is soldered on to the turn valves. Make sure you check the aerator. Copper pipes are much less likely to have this type of build up. Hope this helps 👍🏼👍🏼
