    Welding on a tire rim with rubber mounted can start a pyrolysis reaction and is a quick way to the emergency room or morgue, I'd highly advice against that for anyone watching this video.

    • @B.wilk89
      @B.wilk89 3 роки тому +3

      Yep make sure you have tire deflated valve core removed. A good friends dad was welding on a wheel back when I was pretty young and it blew up and killed him be safe out there people

    • @patrickd9551
      @patrickd9551 3 роки тому +2

      Pyrolysis is the reaction that happens when you apply heat to a material without oxygen. Or in more technical terms thermal decomposition of materials at elevated temperatures in an inert atmosphere. Which of course does not apply here. This does applies (in large) for making charcoal for example.
      What can and WILL happen is the expansion of air inside the tire due to the increased temperature combined with localized weakening of rubber. It's not just best to remove the valve, it's better to remove the entire tire to prevent accidentally weakening your tire. High pressure blowouts are pretty dangerous, especially when you are welding up close. Serious injury or even death may occur.
      But then again, the same applies for everything you see on the internet. USE YOUR BRAINS!!!!! DO.NOT.COPY.WITHOUT.THINKING.!!!

    • @ferrumchnop6617
      @ferrumchnop6617 3 роки тому

      OHSA Section 25: Pyrolysis is a thermochemical decomposition of organic material which can occur at elevated temperatures in the absence of oxygen. This decomposition process only requires the presence of rubber and heat. When heat is applied to the tire or to tire components, hydrocarbon vapours are released inside the tire. As the vapours are released, the air pressure and temperature within the tire increase dramatically. These vapours are highly flammable. If the flammable vapour inside the tire makes contact with oxygen at a temperature in excess of 400 degrees Celsius, auto-ignition can occur, resulting in an explosion.
      Once the decomposition process begins, it is irreversible. There is no visual indication that the decomposition process is taking place. Depending on the particular circumstances, an explosion may occur immediately, within minutes or several hours after the exposure to the heat source. In many instances, an explosion can cause the tire and/or wheel components to be thrown great distances, resulting in severe worker injuries and/or fatalities as well as significant property damage.

    • @patrickd9551
      @patrickd9551 3 роки тому

      @@ferrumchnop6617 I can't fault you for quoting OSHA, but chemically speaking that's bullshit since most tires are filled with regular oxygen rich air.
      Not to mention the rest of the explanation. Good enough for a regular OSHA warning, but scientifically incorrect all over.
      but let's just stick to "it's dangerous"

    • @ferrumchnop6617
      @ferrumchnop6617 3 роки тому

    Not quite an instructional video, missing a few measurements. But a nice one none the less.

    Can you write the exact dimensions of the central pillar and the impact mechanism? Thank you.
    Tek sad vidim u komentarima da si naš rodjače pa ako ti nije teško da mi napišeš dimenzije ovog čekića, jer hoću da napravim isti,naravno ako te ne mrzi?

      Sve sam radio iz glave i kako sam imao materijala tako da nemam točne mjere. Prvo sam napravio škare, a sve ostalo na temelju toga.

      I don't have a PDF plan. If you mean a link it is an Internet site where the transmission ratio calculation is done.
