My dad loved Bob Dylan. Dylan was his all time favourite. We lost him 18th January at the age of 58. So excuse me whilst i sit and fall apart as this hits the soul even more now than ever.
I am so sorry for your loss. I have some idea of what you are going through. My father died at 42 when I was 12, sixty years ago. Bob Dylan helped me get through the following years. I will be fulfilling a lifelong dream- I will finally see Mr. Tambourine Man in concert in 11 days! I’m old but still going. 😂

Honestly, I think Bob is one of the greatest vocalist of all time too.
His phrasing is out of this world

AN EXTRAORDINARY FRIENDSHIP!
I remember purchasing this album when it came out and everyone was saying Dylan is washed up. This album, Infidels, is a masterpiece. One of many from Bob.
Infidels got pretty much nothing but praise after a few records of bad critique from Bob but “Jokerman” alone was a return to Bobs quality songwriting & top standards & again was majorly praised as a masterpiece as a single track!
Couldn't miss with Knopfler in back with his red guitar.....

This is perfection... I just can't explain the hold Dylan's music has on me. He's always the cool side of the pillow for me... He's been a friend without ever meeting him for the last 26 years, 41 now, always bringing me happiness and calmness when in need.
In my early 20's when I began listening, buying 45's, albums, my 1st Dylan concert he had The Band opening for him, to this day the band, is in my heart, Dylan soothes my soul, "he puts down in lyric, rhyme, what I have had on my mind,. There is a general concensus of Dylan fans, who say he gets me, and we get HIM!

RIP Robbie Shakespeare - carrying the groove here and on each and every track he ever performed..Along with the excellent Sly Dunbar of course! An influential bass player who is gonna be sadly missed.
I think I also see Mick Taylor and Mark Knoffler - two great guitar players as part of a truly stacked lineup backing a HoFamer.

At 11 years old I met Bob D.
In 1964. All thru the years - he has been such an enormous influence in my life - both musically and as a Human Being.
His dry wit and humor , plus his integrity, and depth of his soul - had such a positive impact. on me at such an early age. His kind , good heart and wise guy attitude grabbed my heart by 14. I was amazed but not surprised at the pure genius when I first heard about this song...
The Musicians ,the lyrics ,the combination of musicians, the tempo. It just reminds me of how strong a person
must have to be to have withstood s career such as his has been and to still be going strong. It's been a real trip - as they say....!

After watching the inferior but awesome video of this song on UA-cam for many years, this clip is literally music to my ears and fresh color for my eyes. Z, Knopler, Sly, Robbie, Taylor...oh to be in that studio for this session would have been magical. One of the more underrated songs in his catalog and from a period where his songs may not be as memorable as 60's, 70's, and 90's, this is a true gem. Thank you so much Bob.

This line up is magical! The roundness of the rythm section coupled with the subtlety of the guitars. This to serve the out-of-this-world voice of Bob. This is a rare moment of music.

Hats off to ya bob, Finances have been tough but I am determined to see you in MOON TWP, PA. Just hoping tickets dont sell out before I can afford it. I cried many years ago when I had the pleasure to hear you live for the first time, I cried until I slept that night. You give me the will to keep going. And Even though I made the long journey from Cresson, PA to the Malibu Hills to ring your buzzer and get turned away by a large man who was fair, but very stern (to say the least), I know my journey has to one day share energy with yours. I play your music on my guitar and harp daily. Though many don't appreciate you for who you truly are, I see your fate, and eyes would weep, should the tides decide all men should sink. I love you.

I have loved Bob for 40+ years... when I listen to this song and I am still amazed. The rhythm, rime, lyrics, voice inflection, etc... Bob is the best.

Gosh you all, I saw Dylan play with the dead and then loved Jerry memorializing his songs.
I had the opportunity to see Dylan play at the fox theater in Oakland a few years back and hate to say he was beyond the magic, however you could tell his band loved him and was doing there best to carry on his legacy. What an icon in his days. Will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you Bob for sharing your talent with us
