His explanation about knowing his destiny, but keeping it to himself - “It’s a fragile thing, and if you put it out there, people will kill it.” Putting into words what so many have felt.

@adam waldron I know,.. ..we just lost a great friend, business partner named gabe. Best Sawyer ever! ......well until he died.....now he's just dead. SMH.
Ed Bradley was very ill at the time of this interview, but he soldiered on. He died 2 years later. This interview of Dylan showcased what a tremendous journalist and professional he was. Rest in peace...
Sad he died at such a young age. Agree wholeheartedly, he was tremendous. Sadly journalists of this quality are either no longer given a platform or are drown out by so many voices brought on by the internet. The internet gives a voice to people that do not religiously follow journalist ethics like Ed Bradley and most of the great ones. As a result the truth is more difficult to ascertain.

Blessed by the devil and he admits it when he talks about making a deal with the chief commander. 2nd Corinthians 4:4 states Satan is the god of this world so Dylan's nothing to admire. Sold his soul!
My dad used to play Dylan constantly when i was growing up, i found it annoying until i was about 15, my dad gave me a book of his lyrics written down and I read them, they touched my soul in a way i cant explain. Im 34 now and I have had the honor of seeing him perform once, he still has the magic, he is the magic. I sung "make you feel my love" to my husband at my wedding reception as a suprise, my dad suprised me with a second daddy daughter dance "forever young"...no one knew about either plan beforehand except the DJ. Dylan is a huge part of the relationship i have with my dad to this day.
I knew his mother; she was a friend of mine. She was a great and she had hundreds and hundreds of friends many of whom were members of the Twin Cities Jewish community. I worked at a country club that she was a member of and it took me a lot of courage to broach the topic of Dylan with her. I waited until I had gotten to know her fairly well responded to one of her frequent mentions of "Bobby" to nervously say "Bobby, that's Bob" she cut me off and said "that's right, Bob Dylan". She was just a typical Jewish mother who was insanely proud of her children and grandchildren. The last time I saw her was in Lunds grocery store when she spotted me and after we exchanged pleasantries she asked me if I was still working at the University of St Thomas because she had a grandson who was starting there in the fall and wanted me to look him up. This kid was a serious musician:. His primary instrument was either drums or guitar but was good enough to teach both. One day I was in one of the music spaces and I heard someone playing an absolutely amazing classical piece on the piano. It was complicated and was being played sans mistakes. When I got close enough to see who was playing this beautiful piece the player looked up and it was him. I'm no musician but to be that good at three very different instruments at age 20 strikes me as being a rare trait.
And i knew he s father. Always so humble and sweet. One time he took me out and layed me down on a bed of roses, and then had he s way with me. Oh Harry, you always was a backdoorman. The Good old days. Rip.
So insightful and Thank You for sharing a beautiful picture of Bob Dylan was lucky to see him perform and Willie Nelson in 2005 with my Brother 10 years older.. He told me I wanted to see Mr. Dylan before I die. Thank God they're still both Alive. The next day our 101.5 year old Grandma passed away and sharper than a tack. 💞 Still have the local newspaper. ✌️💞🥁🎸🎤
Yes! Because he actually read the book and understood it! Having just read it myself (listened via Audible) I can affirm that he read it because the whole way through Dylan maintains that he was not who people thought he was, who they intended him to be or said he was publicly and for decades. Amazing!
Why? All he did was ask question lol. For all we know the entire interview was scripted. We have no idea how much time elapsed every time the cameras transitioned. "Action!"..."so I made a deal with the chief commander". It may very well be all staged. It's called tell-a-vision for a reason.
Thank you for the post. Dylan was the voice of my generation. There’s just a lot of truth to his music.🎼 Like it or not, he was voice of a generation.😊🎶☮️
Homenuggets rode that Luciferian broomstick all the way to the top. He doesn't even know how he wrote some of those songs.....that's because he didn't write those songs......they came from da debil Bobby Boucher
Yes. You are right. The most straight forward I've ever heard him. He took the interview seriously. He wasn't running his eyes or dodging or giving smart ass comments. I saw this the first time it broadcast. I even got off work early to watch it. Now, I wouldn't do any of that for anyone but that was then and this is now. He is a force to be reckoned with and people still are.
In addition to giving the world great songs Dylan is hilarious...mostly because he doesn't take himself too seriously. There are a ton of musical folks, far far less talented, who would benefit themselves greatly by doing the same. Love this guy!

Exactly! He was always low key, just “telling his stories”. No vanity, no conceit, Took us all by storm, said nothing! Geez I love him, this is why we all want to sit at his feet! STILL!
I took my friend to see Dylan and Mellencamp in Vegas for her bday. I didn't want to see Dylan because I didn't care for his music that much but she loved him. It ended up being the greatest concert I'd ever seen and I was crying my eyes out by the third song. It was magic. Even thinking about it today takes my breath away.❤

Love that Dylan pays no mind to “Like A Rolling Stone” being No.1 on the Rolling Stone list here. Just like he predicts, a few years later it falls to 4 on the list behind a few songs that wouldn’t have existed without Dylan’s work.
It only fell because the magazine got woke. Putting Public Enemy ahead of Dylan and the Beatles is abject nonsense, regardless of how good (or bad) you think P.E. was.

Dylan is extraordinary. The creativity, intelligence, and self-awareness are a lot to live in one body. His wit is sharp, quick, and spot on. I adore Bob.
Well he just admitted that he sold his soul. People think that's a joke but he isn't joking. Many artists have admitted that they sold their soul. He has said something "something" else wrote his songs.
Wow. Even Bob is neither proud of himself nor his accomplishment. As he already reported, he even doesn't know what he was doing as his fame, prestige and influence was from Satan.

The moment when he says he went to the crossroad to make a deal with the ‘Chief Commander’ and the reporter knows exactly what he means is so eerie and give me chills even if I’m a Christian and aware of the unseen spiritual realm exists.
No one succeeds in the music industry, Hollywood or even becomes a mainstream media journalist without first selling their soul. People with influence have to be controlled.
@@derp8575 Don’t you think they’re maybe saying that to get attention ? You can’t actually sell your soul to Satan because according to the bible your soul belongs to god
Fascinating interview. Never heard him speak very long before. He is modest, short but at least speaks. I once saw him in concert in Seattle. He was very religious and the audience wanted him to sing the songs that made him famous. I enjoyed him anyway. The whole family has enjoyed him. I liked ed alot whenever he interviewed anyone. Rip. Thanks utube
I loved all the periods of his life. I also saw him in Denver , he sang and even preached on stage. Tom and the group were not pleased, but hey that's Bobby!! I saw him in Philly Spectrum 70's. I was in the middle of the field in Ft Collins my last concert. I was heckling and laughing having a great time. Joan was not pleased, LOL! Joan sings like my mother Dec -Jan people! Bobby is family a long lost brother a cousin many times removed! He has been allowed a long life with wives children homes and all with tribulation. We all have destiny and it is bringing us to this moment in time all for a purpose! buckle up your seat belts, here we go.........
Dont like his religious period, hard to understand why he would convert to Christianity and also support ultra orthodox Judaism. Cant stand evangelicals and Chabad folks
My dad too used to sit in his chair and play "blood on the tracks" and smoke his cigar and drink a glass of wine and i always thought it annoying as well then i turned about 16 or 27 and one day his music just blindsided me!i got it and KNEW i was listening to greatness that will never be replicated! I was looked at ad a doek by my friends who were lisyening to rush and Madonna it was after all the 80s. Now years later i still find him almost other worldly in his mastery of poetry and the completeness of a story told un 5 or 6 min all the while written in rhyme. Damn thats almost a God like talent ..
i was around when Dylan hit in 1965. Was too young to understand what the songs really meant. by 1970 i was caught up and blown-away. than Dylan made a series of lesser albums. in fact it seemed he was over-the-hill ... i picked up two kids hitchiking in like 1984 and asked them what they were listening too and they said " Blood on the Tracks " . these were two ignorant seeming kids - maybe 15 - in an area kind of back-woods. I never thought Dylan would make an album that communicated with THEM. tremendous album taken out of the gut ....
@@edminer9061 1% Right, I heard him before he was famous and he could hardly play the guitar, it was a racket. He couldn't sing either his voice was dreadful and he certainly couldn't write any songs
Easily the most poignant and pinpoint comment added here... I stumbled upon some interesting information about him recently, it’s hard to stomach once learning of it because it’s ... blood on the tracks... no puns, only a clue of what he would find in his own life after that masterpiece album. oddly that the albums title never did spill the beans within the text of the music inside. I always felt it was regressing something so vivid within his life that it had yet to be as history for him. A feeling you find about yourself and the present future that you can’t conclude it to be anything other than coming your way. He would though, like the title hexes find that the tracks Dylan was on would in fact turn bloody. Being a Dylan fan myself i was stunted and down for some time, heavily enveloped in the BIG WHY connected to it. Is the information i found true, well by my research and careful combing of his life in light of the subject matter, i would sadly say yes it is. i would rather be wrong. Yes he is a Jew-christian and to add to the humility that endows this spirit, he isn’t an evil man, this must be stated. However he did by my findings, and I will interject here that YES GOD did enlighten me to this info, taking me into the codes of things that GOD for some reason wanted me to have known. I am a sound mind for those whom are steadfast to discredit. Revelations as such do at times happen just like so. Again, Dylan IS a beautiful soul, Only at a hiccup he did do an Evil thing. It coincides with his deal he speaks of here, though he cleverly distorts the timeline so people could never figure out his ... Error. An error that GOD will judge him for. I sit back and say after heavy thoughts that he has more than inspired people even to the word of GOD, and i’m sure that Angels will bring cause for his place in the paradise heaven. Clearly his music released that follows this horrid incident secures OUR understanding for HIM, that he deeply regrets what he has done. I’d add that he respectfully manages to slice his music’s breath of natural and regal lure for vain-less relativity - apart from his this monstrosity and it’s anguish of him being overcome by it to see the deed through... However secret it is, considering that they are both one made into marriage... once understanding the revelation of his tenacity to be BOB DYLAN. Funny that with all the depth this soul has within, so much so that his inspired writings and proses, rich with the beautiful views of the passionate discords we people endure, profound that they feel as if BOB DYLAN knows what we are to learn through him, in that we are finding a dim light made to illuminate our paths brightly, would find such a FOUL within him. That a fool of him had shortened what was the supreme of him. .... This light made bright because of him, though always there within us... From what a fool would torch, we uncomfortably have to re-examine if we had known this would we want only this sleepy beauty of enlightenment made so enriched for us be so... well yes i digress but maybe no... What’s more, it’s Robert Zimmerman, the man mom and dad named him as that ultimately has to face his demon that he gave life to that dark hour. His ego coming to life. Not the typical understanding of egos we come to learn in that it’s the other way around. Fame or Power or Money overruling in zeal over the humble ones once known to be them. Here it’s that Rob that was the Giant of no gentle tenor. I’m certain GOD will remove all his intricate layers he wisely fished and fed into, all the Dylan that made him to be BEST for himself and everyone, until the naked man that he kept mute and unknown all his life is left before GOD. It’s Robert whom will have to be the soul that finds the scales of justice upon him. I wonder if what little he himself as having lived Rob be enough to make the grade? i don’t know knowing what i know in not sure yes i forgive him ... then i don’t like a rose loosing pedals i pray that as the last one frees itself from the stem that it secures forgiveness. I wonder what GOD will make of our BOB, our ages Poet in contrast to his lesser incarnation of his truest identity. An Identity that GOD did not create for him, however far and wide from anywhere to there Dylan tried to in his journey of life to delete Robert because of himself knowing what self that self had potential to let out. An ONSLAUGHT to loathe.. GOD will NAKED what is clothed, GOD is JUST. well, there is also the other party that knows of this, and i’m sure Angels will bring cause to this side as well. i know, your asking what did he do? to whom? say it! play Sarah from Desire yes as a commentator has said here on this thread wayyyyy more to this guy than people know Life is Without a Rhyme to be the man whom GOD calls to be judged at such a crime. We know Dylan is beautiful, and he is GOD has layered him beautifully. love you all want to know more ask
Do you realize he is over 80 years old now. This interview was taken about 20 years ago when he was 63. I'm so glad he is still living and hopefully doing well. I've been a great fan of Bob Dylan, went to his concerts around Europe in the 80+90es. I stopped when his voice got too rusty. But always emotionally yours Bob !
"You can't doing something forever...You can doing something else..." -- Bob Dylan That's so cool. That's called maturity/wisdom and insight. Holy mother of God. This interview has depth. It says something about American culture regarding the dynamics of rebellious youth and their parents. Every generation has this dynamic, but American culture gave rebellious youth an opportunity to glamorize their rebellion through the medium of art in the form of entertainment. Man, there is a lot to dissect about this.
Some generations more encouraging to the useful form s of art and musical expression So far ahead, as He's always bee, he was in the only place... at the right time. And Dylan would say, I am certain, that there is nothing to dissect, and that there are and always have been a lot of people who really, badly, need to go off and get a life
@@camdenc3190 His name is Bob Dylan. He changed it very early on. Like he said, it’s the land of the free. Everybody lies. Dylan’s an honest man otherwise. Of course saying this, you’ll probably go out your way to disprove that claim. So what’s the point in typing to people who only want to be right and not righteous.
Bob seems a very modest man for someone of such immense fame. At least he shared his brilliant mind with the rest of us. The ability to do that is another sort of gift and yet clearly has its costs. Imagine the responsibility that comes with being called a prophet of your generation? Imagine every word you write or utter being so hyper-analyzed. It is no wonder he rejects such talk and so seldom speaks publicly.
Maybe he rejects such talk and rarely speaks publicly because he simply considers the whole circus a complete pile of b-llshit. In fact he has said so many times, but in the USA there seem to be so many people who live with some sort of need to fill some sort of hole in their lives. If I met `The Messiah` (any Messiah) I would listen to what he or she had to say and take heed, but in the US all he gets accused of is modesty. Does anyone ever consider the fact that what he says about himself really is all there is, then consider leaving the poor man alone and pissing off to find a housebrick or a tree to worship instead ??

Dylan is my favorite songwriter and performer ever. But, what a fantastic interviewer Ed Bradley was. RIP. We need more like him. He wanted answers and got them without being pushy. They may have not been answered like he wanted, but he was fine with what he got. Bob Dylan had to respect him to sit down with him. Dylan doesn't do this very often. It is so interesting when he does though.
Many of Bobs songs are timeless. We all move through phases of life . Often from ideal’s in our youth to dismay at life’s sometimes tragic turns. Bob has captured what we could not say and helped us find a path that disappeared beneath our feet.

I agree. Harry Reasoner's Miles Davis interview was embarrassing insofar as Reasoner was not knowledgeable about Davis' music and couldn't wait to ask him about racial issues, as if Davis' racial friction was somehow in a vacuum. Bradley would have been a better choice.

When asked about how he relaxes, Dylan said: "I’m a religious person. I read the scriptures a lot, meditate and pray, light candles in church." I believe in damnation and salvation, as well as predestination. The Five Books of Moses, Pauline Epistles, Invocation of the Saints, all of it." Later in the interview, when asked about what style of music was his first love, he said: "Sacred music, church music, ensemble singing." -Dylan, Wall Street Journal December 20, 2022

Aside from divorce, from the little information he or his children divulge he’s been a good father, even though he’s on a forever tour. All the Traveling Wilburys have said that scheduling around Bob’s availability was their only challenge until Roy Orbison died. Wow, my generations music has really been blessed.
How do you know? He even clearly implicated that he is not proud of himself nor able to sing some of them once again. Because those songs were not his own but done with magical/satanic influence.
I really think that is part of why another movie is being made about him (A Complete Unknown). You can almost look at it as the devil holding up his end of the bargain, keeping Bob famous, helping him be romanticized and remembered.. that's what you're paying for when you do that deal. Worldly fame and pleasure and gain. For those who want to scoff and laugh at me saying this... did you hear the man say what he said? He couldn't be more clear. HE clearly believes the devil is real. Maybe it's time we all start understanding he is. And I guarantee you the religion that devil hates the most is Christianity and more specifically Catholicism, because it is true and powerful against him.

In my own personal life the chief of command would always be The First Source and Center of the Universe, so I would answer your question on my own personal experience. When Jesus spoke, he spoke in parables, which allowed each man to take from his speech, that which found a reception in his own heart. What people take away from anything, tells more about the receiver than the giver. Or more about the listener, than the speaker. There are people on this planet who pick up from the vast undiscovered knowledge which floats through and around our earth. We often call them poets, writers, bards, or singers. Essentially they have the wonderful gift of catching, (almost as if they have a butterfly net) verses, or information. Poets write poems. Musicians set those gifts to music. Am I dragging you way off of your path? Sorry if so. I am not a concrete thinker, so I drift from one thing to another, but I do realize that many find it impossible to follow me. My apologies.
Sorry if this is rude to ask but is your generation a part of the 60s? Were you involved in the folk scene when Dylan came around :) I’m very interested in stories from those times, I wish I could meet older people who had stories that explain the spark of the scene during that time
Dylan is absolutely correct when he speaks of the creative inspiration coming from a higher place. Truly authentic, transcendent art is created more through channeling than deliberate crafting.
Yeah like Prince of the power of the air. We all dance for a puppeteer but we get to choose which one. Wish they didn't edit the interview. Started getting interesting at the end. He had 3 gospel albums around 1980. 2 Peter 2:22 What the true proverb says has happened to them: “The dog returns to its own vomit, and the sow, after washing herself, returns to wallow in the mire.”

@@BrandonKyle7 he’s been popping up all over the place (Dylan related posts) ... on all the new videos released.... next time I see him on one of those I’m going to report him.
the part about his "bargain" with the "chief commander" of this world and otherwise has stuck with me for a very long time. not a surprise, just interesting to hear bob Dylan say as much
It seems he's worried about something. He sure didn't seem to be happy with life which is odd for a man with so much success, notoriety and money. I don't believe that you can bargain with God but I'm sure you can bargain with Satan. Whoever he bargained with, he referred to him as The Chief Commander of this world and another world that you can't see. I guess he meant Hell because Satan's not going to be a Commander in the House of God. Man, I would have pressed him on what he meant and tried to get some information on exactly what he meant and who he was referring to and how did he arrange a meeting with this Chief Commander. Opportunity lost. It seemed like he wanted to get this off his chest. He sure didn't look very interested in the other questions.
Satan is the god of this world, the prince of the power of the air! It is true as Bob wrote, "you're gonna have to serve somebody, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord, but you're gonna have to serve somebody! Who is you serving?
Yes, you can tell he was at ease with Ed Bradley, and there was a level of respect, both ways. Bob didn't think of making silly jokes as with the mainstream media, who were out to get the best quote or whatever they wanted. Ed Bradley just wanted to know who was Bob Dylan. Not sure if he succeeded.
I know a lady who knows Dylan quite well. She told me the one thing you never see in these interviews is that he is funny as hell. He lets it crack a few in the Scorsese docs, but that’s it.

@@lilyderra650 Fantastic. Thank you for asking. Are you a fan of Bob Dylan? If so, are you aware that both Dylan and The Beatles’ inspiration (for becoming singer-song-writers) was Buddy Holly?
Dylan mentions Buddy in his amazing Nobel Prize lecture. He said that he had to travel over a hundred miles to see Buddy Holly perform. He also noted that Buddy’s commitment to writing original songs and just going out there and playing them motivated Bob to do the same. It was pretty much the same with The Beatles. They saw Buddy tour Britannia and were blown away by pretty much the same things as Bobby Dylan was.
He's really a poet. With the music as a support. Nowadays, with the years gonne by, i can understand better his music and his vision of the world. God bless Bob Dylan (if he likes, of course!).
Bob has a wry sense of humor and uses satire in a unique way. Those creative juices flow when you're young and you just can't do the same thing as you get older. Sometimes the words seem to roll off your tongue and you play with words. But you can progress and move on to other things. He's probably been asked more questions than about anybody. One of my favorites by him in addition to all his early stuff when he went looking for Woodie Guthrie, is "Million Miles" which you may not have heard. 500 songs? I think the Beatles did about 400 and the duo of Jagger/Richards about 350. If you haven't heard it you should listen to "Tom Thumb's Blues."

In this entire interview, the only comment or line of questioning that Ed Bradley said that made Bob Dylan smile, smirk, or laugh was at the very end when Ed asked, "Should I ask who you made the bargain with?", "On this earth?". Dylan could only chuckle as he responded with very sinister answers. It was a type of laugh or chuckle that I've rarely ever heard before, the type of laugh only a man that knew he was doomed could make.
@Weber 562 I loved him for many yrs, seen him 20 times including last Thanksgiving but I agree with you, his pact was not with our Supreme Creator, it was the type of cabal arrangement if think Bout it. Sad, he is so talented but you hit the Nail On The Head. It was nice Bradley got that interview- after all, he was dying of cancer himself within weeks of it.
Ed Bradley did a fine job with this interview, opening up a deep, clear view of genuine Bob Dylan. This was a most enjoyable conversation to witness. Thank you.
We in Duluth MN were blessed by his playing his artwork in our local hippie hangout for only a short year or so. So many of us grew up with complete respect like an older cool brother.
i bought all the Bob Dylan albums in UC Berkeley when I was a student there in the 60s. I never got to meet him, this was a great 20-20 interview -- Vic Alexander
Bob Dylan is a gift to humanity. I could go my entire life still not discovering all his masterpieces. Some people get lucky to have that one song. That once in a life time song. Bob Dylan has six decades of them songs.
@@terriclark4255 you must not know Bobs personality at all. He was being facetious, sarcastic. Dylan is a man of deep faith. How can a man that praise Satan have so many songs of God and religion?

Agree. Lucky to have been here in the 60s to experience his genius.
Beautiful story. I dunno why but it brought tears to my eyes to read of your Daddy daughter surprises.

@@fredapeeples6619 give it time, Dylan is not someone you understand till you have experienced enough of life for his words to resonate.

Yes! Because he actually read the book and understood it! Easily the most poignant and pinpoint comment added here...
I stumbled upon some interesting information about him recently,
it’s hard to stomach once learning of it because it’s ...
blood on the tracks...
no puns, only a clue of what he would find in his own life after that masterpiece album.
oddly that the albums title never did spill the beans within the text of the music inside. I always felt it was regressing something so vivid within his life that it had yet to be as history for him. A feeling you find about yourself and the present future that you can’t conclude it to be anything other than coming your way.
He would though,
like the title hexes find that the tracks Dylan was on would in fact turn bloody.
Being a Dylan fan myself i was stunted and down for some time, heavily enveloped in the BIG WHY connected to it.
Is the information i found true,
well by my research and careful combing of his life in light of the subject matter,
i would sadly say yes it is.
i would rather be wrong.
Yes he is a Jew-christian
and to add to the humility that endows this spirit,
he isn’t an evil man, this must be stated.
I sit back and say after heavy thoughts that he has more than inspired people even to the word of GOD,
and i’m sure that Angels will bring cause for his place in the paradise heaven.
Clearly his music released that follows this horrid incident secures OUR understanding for HIM,
that he deeply regrets what he has done.
I’d add that he respectfully manages to slice his music’s breath of natural and regal lure for vain-less relativity -
apart from his this monstrosity and it’s anguish of him being overcome by it to see the deed through...
However secret it is,
considering that they are both one made into marriage...
once understanding the revelation of his tenacity to be BOB DYLAN.
Funny that with all the depth this soul has within,
so much so that his inspired writings and proses,
rich with the beautiful views of the passionate discords we people endure,
profound that they feel as if BOB DYLAN knows what we are to learn through him,
in that we are finding a dim light made to illuminate our paths brightly,
would find such a FOUL within him.
That a fool of him had shortened what was the supreme of him.
....
This light made bright because of him,

What’s more, it’s Robert Zimmerman,
the man mom and dad named him as that ultimately has to face his demon that he gave life to that dark hour.
His ego coming to life.
Not the typical understanding of egos we come to learn in that it’s the other way around.
Fame or Power or Money overruling in zeal over the humble ones once known to be them.
Here it’s that Rob that was the Giant of no gentle tenor.
I’m certain GOD will remove all his intricate layers he wisely fished and fed into,
all the Dylan that made him to be BEST for himself and everyone,
until the naked man that he kept mute and unknown all his life is left before GOD.
It’s Robert whom will have to be the soul that finds the scales of justice upon him.
I wonder if what little he himself as having lived Rob be enough to make the grade?
i don’t know
knowing what i know
in not sure
yes i forgive him ... then i don’t
like a rose loosing pedals
i pray that as the last one frees itself from the stem that it secures forgiveness.
I wonder what GOD will make of our BOB,
our ages Poet in contrast to his lesser incarnation of his truest identity.
An Identity that GOD did not create for him,
however far and wide from anywhere to there Dylan tried to in his journey of life to delete Robert because of himself knowing what self that self had potential to let out.
An ONSLAUGHT to loathe..
GOD will NAKED what is clothed, GOD is JUST.

I have a completely different view of him now than I ever have, and I'm so glad that I have seen this. It has taught me, once again, that you (I) should never judge.
You can tell Bob liked and trusted Ed Bradley; he could tell Bradley was coming from a place of sincerity and honesty. And even though he was the finest of professional journalists, you can also tell Bradley was a real fan of a real legend. This interview is a treasure--thank you--!
Dylan looked bored and pissed off to me. Same tired old shit over and over and over.
@@admiralbenbow5083 At least he was polite and answered Bradley's questions. Read what I said before. Maybe you're just not a Dylan fan; and that's perfectly okay. He won a frigging Nobel Prize; granted, at lot of his early songs may be his best. That's all personal opinion.
@@blanchefan What in my comment tells you Im not a `Dylan fan` ? What does that have to do with anything ?
Hes had to put up with decades of this bullshit. Maybe you should take his responses at face value rather than try to read between the lines. BD has my utmost respect not just for his music but also for his patience with some of the idiots he has had to put up with.
The one thing he never gets credit for is his down to earth no BS attitude because everybody is too busy trying desperately to turn him into something he is not.

It's that Minnesota upbringing. The best artists come from struggle

I agree he is a pleasant interviewer

When Jesus spoke, he spoke in parables, which allowed each man to take from his speech, that which found a reception in his own heart. What people take away from anything, tells more about the receiver than the giver. Or more about the listener, than the speaker. It seems he's worried about something. He sure didn't seem to be happy with life which is odd for a man with so much success, notoriety and money. Whoever he bargained with, he referred to him as The Chief Commander of this world and another world that you can't see. I guess he meant Hell because Satan's not going to be a Commander in the House of God. Hello Andrew , how are you doing?
Nobel for,...??

Doomed? He made a bargain with God.
@@Smorgasbord. The wrong God.
He's talking about God.
@@BarnoEire no he's talking about Satan ....
Shelter from the Storm is my number one favorite.
One of them!
Two legends...
Ed is gone, but Bob's still kickin'.
Ed Bradley did a fine job with this interview, opening up a deep, clear view of genuine Bob Dylan. This was a most enjoyable conversation to witness. Thank you.
Love you Bob. Thank you for everything. 😎✌️
We in Duluth MN were blessed by his playing his artwork in our local hippie hangout for only a short year or so. So many of us grew up with complete respect like an older cool brother.
i bought all the Bob Dylan albums in UC Berkeley when I was a student there in the 60s. I lived in Norway, I used to have a harmonica and guitar and sang "Girl from North Country Side" and Liv Alexander fell in love with me because I sounded just like Bob Dylan. I never got to meet him, this was a great 20-20 interview -- Vic Alexander
Wonderful! Say hi to Liv for me!
They say anything was still possible yhrb
Bob Dylan is a gift to humanity. I could go my entire life still not discovering all his masterpieces. Some people get lucky to have that one song. That once in a life time song. Bob Dylan has six decades of them songs.
Legend, one of the greatest, most iconic, influential artists of the 20th century
He is alive! He lives ! Smoked 3 packs of cigs a day for 70 years. And he still lives !
@@xshanghu Did he not quit in the late 60s?
He praised Satan. No good
@@terriclark4255 you must not know Bobs personality at all. He was being facetious, sarcastic. Dylan is a man of deep faith. How can a man that praise Satan have so many songs of God and religion?
Seeing him at age 80 in November....expect it to be transformative like the other times I have seen him. Bob...in all his Bobness as Petty referenced him! Can't wait to be there again!
Don't overthink it. Just enjoy it. Bob is a very creative man, and a lot of his lyrics are so profound. God bless ❤❤
