Wow - just wow. As is mostly the case with folks who do these things, you will likely be the only one who notices any flaws in the end product. If you can't see anything amiss standing a few metres away, then it's perfect. Well done Tony - hats off to you. Regards from one of your Aussie fans.
Oh you are making me blush!! Thank you! You are right. Most won’t notice but I am good with the “flaws” given I’ve never done this before. Thanks for stopping by Oz!!!
This is really impressive! Congratulations on pulling this off. Not a basic scheme either, rather intricate. I'm thinking about going this route myself. How much did the custom vinyl cast you? Also, you have any prior experience working with vinyl? Congrats again!
Hey there. First time ever even touching vinyl. Spent 1177$ CAD for vinyl and about 150$ in knifeless tape. The design was done by me both original and on the fly stuff so that cost nothing. Knowing what I know now, I could probably get away with about $700 CAD (due to finding a less expensive vendor as well as knowing I should not have wasted all the vinyl that I did)
Beautiful wrap. I fly out of CEA3 as well and I look forward to seeing it one of these times. Just wondering, are there any helmet mounted or cabin mounted cameras that you recommend for someone starting pilot videography. Preferably something that can capture the instrument panel and outside with a decent dynamic range and some kind of way to incorporate headset audio. Thank you for any input!
Hi Zachary. I think we may have met before… yes? Either way. Pop by the hangar if you see the suv parked there. We can chat about the video and audio options when you stop buy.
I mention the type and differences in the videos. 2080. CarSalon, but I suggest looking elsewhere as I discovered they charge 10$ per yard more than everywhere else on the web.
@Jwd295 base is paint. Cost was around 1200 but only because I went to place that charged me way more than I should have paid. Later found a better source and it could have cost shy of about 800.
According to 3M 7-9 years if the vehicle is outside all the time. Since the plane is indoors most of the time, I expect that it can be longer than that.
For never having done this before you did a fantastic job, well done.
Got lucky I guess. Could have gone either way. Lol

Wow this turned out well. I love the black and orange contrast.
Thanks Adam. Came out better than expected
Wow - you did this without removing the control surfaces. I have just learnt a big lesson - thanks.
Very Cool! Nice work!
Nice work 👍
looks great 👍

@@HUDPilot sounds good. Can't wait for good flying weather
What type of 3m vinyl did you use, and where did you buy it. doing some research.
I mention the type and differences in the videos. 2080. CarSalon, but I suggest looking elsewhere as I discovered they charge 10$ per yard more than everywhere else on the web.
How much vinyl for the whole project? Is the base layer paint?

@@HUDPilot so about how many feet of 5' width vinyl?
Any updates. See part 3 but no part4?
Hi Den… sorry my bad. The part 4 was “Mistakes, I’ve made a few” (the wrap up video) I left the part 4 out of title.
¿Me pregunto que tiempo dura a la intemperie?

@HUDPilot Excelente muchas gracias por responder.
Does this mean I have dress up and wear a suit and tie just to go flying?
No it doesn't... but at least wear pants next time!! lol
