I've tried making this landing in Microsoft Flight simulator 2020 and my favorite part of the whole thing Is the 40 other people Also trying to do it at the same time! I think that goes to show how much Impact you have on general aviation, and I thank you for it!

*That was amazing. I know the team knows the risk but most people really can't comprehend the stakes.* This was very risky, but was done safely in the middle of the margins, the very tiny tiny margins. The plane Mike and others modified was brilliant (as usual). The pilot did his job expertly. Winds cooperated (for a few minutes).

Awasome. ~ You have taught the value of only accepting the highest quality in craftsmanship! Your ability to design and foretell the possibilities is priceless. I am 82, and when I was a paratrooper we had a sign above the mess-hall door that said: "The Sky, even more than the Sea, is most unforgiving for even the slightest mistake." RLTW ~ I have gone down in two different helicopter crashes. Thank God I made it. SAFETY is the Key!

When able a general scope on the x/c project would be much appreciated. That fast 2p/4p experimental category is the root of most practical aviation for the common man. Seeing Mike push the boundaries past what turbulence achieved would be quite the exciting watch. Amazing work you guys.

    • @BernhardEhm

Carbon offers high strength with low weight and it is sturdy as well as flexible. Carbon fiber allows for to be lighter and stronger. Kevlar has a high toughness which is useful for things like bullet resistant clothing, but Kevlar fiber has a lower tensile strength than and is heavier than carbon fiber.

Yeah I am enjoying Mike Patey's videos a lot more than the news snippets.... the attention to details of the aspects of the build, the details.... the close team of family and close working team that work together on aircraft, and also seeing them building their new home. Have had some seeious medical issues fighting tick bite diseases that flattened me here in Australia. Great to watch such enthusiasm for life and attention to details..... is great to virtually sit in on these adventures while I do my own fight-back & more inspired to dream bigger and be around people who think, and work the same way ..... like Mark's Q&A on the Helipad .... such a great family inspiring get in there and go to that extra effort to improve safety, performance, etc etc...... Great to see the family all involved working together.
I expect the family will change the locks on the hanger and drag Mike off on a family holiday somewhere once these major projects are completed. Well deserved and great to share the success doesn't "just happen". Those many extra hours, weeks and years of experience with designing and building something that goes a few more improvement levels is a great ethos and culture to be able to "sit in on" with these video shares.... well done to the entire team. Even those we don't see on camera, but we know the family, friends and workplaces, oh and viseo editor

Dex did a great job, but I'd be interested in knowing how much weight you cut out versus how much the wrapping added back. I understand that it was necessary, but it certainly has a penalty and this hasn't been discussed so far. Wrapping inherently means spare performance was available ;).

Aren't you just adding to the overall weight of the aircraft this makes center of gravity of the plane different then original specs. Meaning that flying is going to be way different then flying a stock version because of added weight and change of aerodynamics. Glad I stumbled on the channel, great work my friend
