The Rans S-14 does not meet the Ultralight 254 pound weight requirement with any engine including a 447. This is a Light Sport aircraft and requires a certificate to fly it.

Daycare, love it. You mention the noise, and Pioneer helicopters, but the constant helicopter noise is crazy inducing, especially before the show starts (the loop is just over homebuilt camping until the show starts). Still owe you a visit Tony.

For the same reason why an A380 chases an airport SUV at LAX. It's a pilot vehicle similar to the ones preceding a over-size load cargo on the Interstate.

The planes are coming in all hot and mad at the delay s and are hunting down any soft targets ,, you look and some are marking down kills on the fuselages , you see it a lot on the war birds !!😂

One thing I want to add. If the plane is an experimental, you will need a hanger at the airport or home to work on it.

If you get a chance, a walkthrough the homebuilt show plane area would be nice. EAA doesn't cover that much. Not the massive Van's area but the traditional parking for the wide variety of homebuilts. Like your Lancair, Glasairs, T-18s etc. Unless they've migrated over to homebuilt camping, like in SNF.

Hey Tony what is the coolest aircraft so far in Oshkosh?obviously besides yours 😂😂

I am one of the people on the scooters and it is because we are a volunteer ground control guiding the planes to where they are going to park/take off. We remove one task from the controllers who are already incredibly busy.
