Vinyl Wrap an Airplane: How I did it. Part 2

- Hey it is time to begin watching me wrap that vinyl on my Lancair 360.
I sat down to edit the video and realized I had over 3 hours of time lapse video which is way too much to put in one episode. So I did some trimming and came up with what you are about to watch. It will be followed by part 3 next Thursday.
The plane is essentially DONE right now. All that I am waiting on are the vinyl letters to attach on the fuselage so that I can go flying and see if this all keeps together.
So as usual, I thank you all for stopping by. Pass the word along and help me get a little more traction.
I want to mention one more time... I have never done this before and am not a professional. What you see me doing here is what I have picked up from watching videos just like you all do. I spent quite a bit of time on @CKWraps watching and learning. Although he definitely doesn't need any boost from me... I find his videos worth watching if you want to pick up on some real neat tricks. If I haven't executed correctly, please forgive me... it is my first time! :-)
Have fun!
Tony
It's looking sweeeet! Well done!
Thanks 👍
Nicely done. Looks really cool. 😍
That turned out amazing for your first time!
Thanks @DarkKnightCars. Quite impressed with myself... but my butt cheeks won't unclench expecting something to fall off lol.
Excellent videos. thank you.
Thanks John!! Last part in the series is coming out tomorrow.
You need to buy the Cessna thats in your hanger... its the same colour and you'll have a "fleet" of branded aircraft! 😜❤
Oh and it looks AMAZING! I think it will add at least 50KTS to the plane... at least when it hanger flies!
Funny you said that... I asked.. they won't sell. Guess the next plane I build will have the same color scheme!
AT LEAST 50kts lol
I am wrapping a plane this week and can I use 3m 2080 film like this?
Wrap zoo. That’s exactly what I used so I guess yes. All I can say is that it worked well on my fiberglass plane. I mention it in one of the 5 videos.
and this is ok to do yourself with the FAA ? what are the rules ?
I’m Canadian. Plane is Canadian. Don’t really know what the FAA rules are.
@@HUDPilot yea i realized that im in the US thanks for replying
How is the Vinyl Wrap holding up in the Cowl with that engine heat?
Hey Richard! Funny, I was sitting down yesterday planning on releasing an update video on how the wrap was doing after months of flying.
Vinyl on engine is perfect! No issues at all. Rudder too black strip is the pain. Had to remove and put in a new strip (my OCD caused that).
