The other brake side that was bad could be from dirty guide pins or the caliper is sticking and will need to be replaced soon.

Pads and rotors are easy to replace today. Its like plug n play. Back in the day, we cut those rotors and drums on a brake lathe. China manufacturers eliminate those brake lathes.
Yea its a good way to save a few bucks. There are a few places still around that will turn brake rotors for you, “when the machine is working.” I just recommend replacing them, especially since Autozone sell a bundle deal when you buy pads and rotors together. It makes making that extra stop and having to wait on them to turn them not worth the hassle at least on passenger vehicles.
You didn't need to bleed the air out of the system?
@@maxjeffers7687 negative. You don’t have to bleed the system unless you open the system.
What’s the torque specs for the bolts ?
Good and tight. Technically you should practice using torque specs, but on a brake job like this I don’t get too technical. I believe I’ve been doing this long enough to have a feel for how tight they should be. The specs are easily obtainable online groups forms you can pull up on google .
My man aint even put no grease or sil glyde on the pad points :0
Good catch! I’ve since started using light coats of anti seize/ grease to the brake routines.

Do you know what happeneds id you put the clips on the wrong groove ?
The brakes pads may drag and wear prematurely.
@@BruceMobile I am confused. You installed the pads from the inside so how do you expect the spring clips to work?
@@davo912 the spring clips put tension on the pads once it’s all assembled.
@@BruceMobile Earth to Mr Mechanic..the pads MUST be put on from the outside and the end of the clip sits in the groove on the pad and and pushes the pad to the OUTSIDE when you take your foot off the brake pedal. When you put the pad in from the inside the clip has no way to push the pad. This is what happens when you don't have a clue how that brake system works

Yea I definitely recommend getting the brake clips. They keep your brake pads in place so they perform correctly and you get the maximum life expectancy from your pads. If you buy the more expensive pads from the auto parts store they will come with new hardware. The cheaper pads usually don’t come with new hardware.
