Thanks for this video brother! After watching it a couple of times, I was able to replace my 2017 Nissan Rogue blower in about 2 hrs, saving myself a pile of money. One quote last week was over 850 dollars and that was the garage down the street - one car dealer said it would be around 1,200 dollars or more. Thanks again brother!

Thank you for this video. I was able to get the motor installed quickly, in about the same time as you did in the video. I bought the fan online which cost me about 66% less than the national car parts store down the road.

    Great video, learned a lot.
Unfortunately I didn't discover this instructable in time and used another method to remove the blower. I used a slightly more laborious method, a bit of brute force, although I think it's faster.
First I literally threw myself headfirst under the dash. I'm a skinny person so I don't recommend this for XL people. You can barely reach the blower to remove the screw and wire. Then it's harder to free the motor as you can only use one hand in a position where you can't use much force to turn it. I lightly tapped the lip with a screwdriver and managed to get it to move, then I was able to remove it. But then I found out there was no room to get it out. That's where I offended everyone I could offend, realizing I had to take out a bunch of parts. But because I'm stubborn, after removing the glove box, I removed all the screws from the frame behind the glove box and realized it was possible to move the whole plastic piece a bit. So I forced it a little while removing the blower and got it. It works, but I will not pay any compensation if someone uses this method and destroys their car.😊

😮 I'm doing this on my 2015 Nissan Rogue tomorrow morning. I sure hope it goes as smoothly as you made it look. LOL this is not the first time I've taken on an unfamiliar job so I'm ready for all challenges. But watching this video sure did ease my mind on how it will go.
Thank you for posting this video

It is really not that bad , I mentioned in the video the cabin filter. This is the time you will want to replace it , with the blower motor out You have to fold the filter slightly to install it and reaching in where the blower fan goes helps to make sure it is straightened out. Best of luck on yours and I thank you for the feedback.

Great video, this was a live saver. One thing on my 2020 Rogue S, there was another set of wires harnessed to the side of the original blower motor. I had to cut off the harness before I could take out the motor. Other than that, the replacement went well and we're enjoyimg AC again! Thanks for the awesome tutorial!

Update: I managed to get a pair of oil filter pliers in there to turn the motor clockwise. I was not able to use the oil filter pliars the way they were designed to use. I had to stick both ends of the wrench inside those fins and use it as leverage to turn from both sides. I was able to get the new motor in without any trouble. When I tried spinning the fan it didn't appear to make any noises but when I put the new motor in and tested it out, it worked.
Everything is back together now with no damage. Although I have two screws that I missed somewhere.
    Job complete.

Great video. One question; may be obvious but I have to ask. Once you have the motor in, you mention that you test it. How? Did you just turn on the car and just try the heat/AC? Thanks!

Thinking this may be my problem with my Nissan. However, you can hear the motor and heat going through after driving consistently above 45. Auto parts store guy said it may just be stuck or had excess dust in the blower fan. Thoughts from anyone?

    Update:
As noted below, I am attempting to replace mine this morning. I'm at the point where I have complete access to the blower motor and I have removed the plug and the screw but I have completely failed in being able to turn the motor one direction or the other. It looks like I need to turn it clockwise to remove it, but it won't budge!
I have the replacement motor, and I see no other fasteners other than the one screw.

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  6 місяців тому +1

Yes , it needs to rotate clockwise. It does not need to turn much and you will feel it click. Mine turned easily but the space is limited and you might have to try and get a better grip somehow. On another note if you have made this far , you are doing great.

I would suspect the resistor next. Try turning the fan on all the way high. If it turns on it is a bad resistor. if not I would check the fuse box for a bad fuse. Hope this helps.
