- Here's a video of me hearing my first ever Disturbed song. I know absolutely nothing about this band and I cannot wait to dive deeper into their music. Do you guys think this song was a good one for someone hearing it for the first time? I was going to listen to Sound Of Silence but a lot of people said to save it for later.
Here is my reaction to hearing Disturbed - Down WIth The Sickness for the first time. I hope you enjoy it!

I didn’t realise this wasn’t the full version of the song, my bad!
You gonna do the full version?
I like the shorter version.
This song was on the Soundtrack for the Movie QUEEN OF THE DAMNED
@@epowers76No offense intended but I disagree with your statement. Although the full lyrics are disturbing (no pun intended) they give meaning and context to the song. Much easier to understand what the sickness is in the full version.
@@roadkill7314exactly! The edited version of this song just does it zero justice and takes away from the power points. Not just the crazy vocal part, but the reminder of the beats in each verse that are also cut short.
I dont think the tears is a weakness thing. Its a realization that you love something you havent seen before but instantly get.
You must do "Stupify" by Disturbed!!!
Yes Yes Yes 😊
Listening to Disturbed will STUPEFY you. All ‘Nu-Metal’ will. They can’t spell ‘New’ and they can’t spell ‘stupefy’. Whaddya expect. Bunch of trailer-home tosspots.
@@riphopfer5816Nu is the 13th letter of the Greek alphabet. But the word Nu is the symbol for frequency NOT short for New. Oh, aren't you the dumb one.🙄
Yeah, bringing you another disturbing creation
From the mind of one sick animal who can't tell the difference
And gets stupified!
Best first reaction to Disturbed. That's the same reaction we all had when it came out in the nineties. "What was that?"
Nah, bro! This song kicked off the 2000's!
@@howieduwit2551 they toured it before it was recorded in 1999 and released in 2000. Plenty of us heard it live before the millennium kicked off.
I was in and bought the CD after I heard the first ooOOOWAH AH AH AH!
@@perrydoig2872 Pssss. You are trying too hard.
Sorry I am commenting as I watch it...😅 awwww... Disturbed made you cry. That's amazing! Keep feeling the music and don't ever be afraid to express what it does to you emotionally. This vulnerability will only aid and enrich your journey. 💜
It's true. Don't deny what music does to you. It's a deep personal thing and we get it! It's a magical thing to be moved by music.
This album turns 24 this year. Which is how long I've been a fan. They were one of the bands I turned to when I was being bullied in high school. I also listened to system of a down, mudvayne slipknot and kittie. Those 5 bands hold a special place in my heart, and will always love those bands for bringing me light in one of the darkest times in my life! As always, great reaction to a phenomenal song!
KTTIE... now that was a dope ass group.. female or not
@@sic1six kittie just released a new single called eyes wide open. It is a banger!
There were some great bands in that era!
Music is powerful, young friend. Let it out ❤
“Prayer”, “10,000 Fist”, “Land of Confusion”(cover song) some of my personal Disturbed favorites.
Don't forget his new one, Bad Man...
The other cover off of this album is good too.
Shout, from Tears for Fears.
First two albums legendary
"Shout 2000", "Rise", "Believe", "Remember" are really good ones as well.
We did Metal right in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. It was so f-ing great! Im old af and love watching a new generation witnessing the glory of these epic bands. So many of their songs were used in wrestling and action movies. 😊
Me too 😂
David was originally trained as a Cantor in his Temple. What a voice. ❤
"The Game" was my gateway song into Disturbed. That song blew me away and I've been a fan ever since.
Same here!
This whole album is 🔥 from beginning to end!! Some other good bands that are around the same time Godsmack, korn, slipknot, dope, 3 days grace, shindown, and so many moe
This song on the album has a rant that gets cut out.
Their first two albums are brilliant
Good. That vocal rant is the worst. Bridge riff is fine, maybe a solo over it would've been better. Even the riff by itself with no vocals would've been a better choice.
I like the rant. It is amazing live.😉
@@CTMed-Growers-Association0420 The rant is okay... Though it does turn off a lot of people who hear it lol
@@CTMed-Growers-Association0420 it’s part of the song 🤘
@CTMed-Growers-Association0420 Oh, you mean the part when they bring a mother and son up on stage whilst performing this section? Master cringe 😬 😅 🙃 😐
Damn, you got the radio edit version. You need the album unedited version with the rant!!!!! Stupify 🤘😎🤘
The Sickness album came out in 2000.
Disturbed covers a lot of serious topics, and the wonderful thing about music is its ability to evoke emotional responses. Love it.
This whole album fucking kicks! It's their first album and my favorite of theirs. It came out around 2001 ish.
This is one of those super nostalgic songs for me. Takes me back to highschool; pushing around town on my skateboard, Sony discman in my backpack. Not a care in the world.
Sound of Silence is really worth listening after this. You can compare it and think how is it even the same singer. David has a fantastic versatile voice.
Their cover of "Land of Confusion" is great also.
Absolutely this! You don't get the real grasp of DD's versatility until you get both sides!
4 comments in. I found it. lol. Next rabbit hole. Love it.
I don't like the covers.
I would definitely check out atleast a few Disturbed songs before getting into Sound of Silence. Get a feel for who they are and how they sound beforehand.
I had forgotten how good this song is. Music elicits emotion when it's good. Nothing wrong with that. Great reaction.
This band had me at, "ooh waa aah aah aah".
Great reaction, my guy. I love that you did this first. You're going to love this band, and here's the journey I would recommend - I would listen to a few more of Disturbed's early fan favorites before getting to Sound of Silence. All bangers, you'll be good. Check out Stupify, Stricken, and Inside the Fire. Then I would do Another Way to Die, Vengeful One, and Indestructible. Then Sound of Silence, A Reason to Fight (Official Live), Hold Onto Memories. That would cover early, middle, and recent. That's not all of their best, but probably the best sampling of their career (although it leaves off their most recent album which is pretty damn good)
Totally agree! Disturbed is so varied and versatile, not afraid to take chances and explore music as it should be explored by people who love music. They don't just sell out to make what the fans think they want and grab the money. They try new things and keep things interesting. Can you tell this old granny is a huge fan?
This song/Band came out in 2000 what a great year for metal music that year was
Hey kid, Sound of Silence is phenomenal especially the live version on the Conan show but hell yeah for doing this first. It will make hearing the Sound of Silence so much better 🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯 Been a long time fan of Disturbed since Stupify which came out just before this!!
The live version is so amazing.. especially knowing is was sick when performing (flu I think). His vocals are stellar.
Going to see them tomorrow night!!
Seen them last week...... absolutely fkn awesome 🤘😎🤘
So jealous of both of you! I'm going to try to catch them in Cali in October
Seen them 3 times, have a great time. Been a long time for me since I saw them last, in Corpus Christi TX
You're so sweet. Be you and F anyone who doesn't like it! Music is so powerful. Feel whatever you feel and its ok, its a gift! ❤❤❤❤
Godsmack would definitely be a great band to check out. Their first album is incredible! I'm STILL waiting for you to "flow" into some Soundgarden 😊
It saddened me to hear they won't be making any new music.
First two Disturbed albums kill it. 🤟🔥
I will throw a thumbs up to that. Had a big old explanation but looked down and deleted my comment.
Believe reminds me of a coke and big titties roadtrip after highschool. Nice album👌
I agree and add that the first 4 albums are quite good
Low key LOVE Droppin Plates😂
@@ricoeche I'm with Rico. First 4 are really good. Immortalized is pretty good too.
I am now 63 years young and my taste in music is very broad, but rock and heavy metal is my favorite genre. Disturbe took it to a whole other level. The band grabs me every time because everything is right. The lyrics, the instruments, the arrangement and especially the voice of David Draiman.
Same here.
This is one of those songs that my stereo just don't go loud enough!!!!!
Except my 2000 watt house stereo base surround sound 4 speakers 2 5 foot tall two 10' woofers mid tweaters 12" 300 watt powered sub woofer got noise complaints from mile away yes I cranked this album and others full blast sounded like at concert but in house lol
Bose not base auto spell
White Zombie - Album "La Sexorsisto Devil Music No. 1", songs - Thunderkiss 65, Black Sunshine, Soul Crusher.
They were touring with Pantera, Sepeltura, and Type O Negative.
Speaking of which, Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses Album, songs - Black No. 1, Christian Woman.
That whole album is a classic, with no need to skip any songs
Great reaction as always. Godsmack has some good stuff, definitely check them out maybe some Deftones too. Here’s my favorite Disturbed songs in no particular order: Prayer, Remember, sound of silence, indestructible, Stricken, The Game, The Night, Hey You, Unstoppable.
Good one! go back and give the uncensored one a listen just for giggles...
I just had this on today! Nothing beats the intro… instant mood booster 🙌🏻💫
You are at the very beginning of discovering metal... but I really enjoy your reactions... it reminds me myself when I started listening to metal... some 30 + years ago. There are tones of great stuff to listen to...
I want to say this came out late 90s early 2000.
This was what we were listening to back in high school 20 years.
Disturbed, Tool, Korn, Godsmack, and System of a Down.
These bands and more made up the soundtrack of my high school days.
He is such a nice, genuine person too. The lead singer that is.
I can't tell you how awesome it is to see you experience a lot of this stuff for the first time. So... yeah... subbed.
Thanks for the sub!
@@MollyBoyTV Molly lad bro, check out this music band called Saliva Song called Always (react to the official music video)
Godsmack Voodoo is amazing
Anything from Godsmack is good
Disturbed is one of my favorite bands, they are soo good!!
Thx MB for reacting to Disturbed...
✌️❤️🤘..
Oh man! In 4hrs I’m gonna be heading to dinner. I have a feeling your first reaction is going to be “WTF is this?” But trust me dude, it’s a good tune.
Hi there, looking for news stuff ? Enjoy man !!!
1- Angerfist - Solid Stigma (Official video)
2- 2Cellos - The trooper
3- Alchemy Live - Sultan of Swing
4- Tina S - Through the fire & flames
5- Ozzy Osbourne - Mr. Crowley
6- el estepario Siberiano - godzilla, Holy wars etc
Disturbed 'The Vengeful One' is a banger!!
When music moves you it just moves you. No matter the genre. It just shows how much of a music head you are. Loving your journey so far. Keep the bangers and the tears coming!
The video does not do the song justice as the spoken word part is missing. In my honest opinion it makes the song more powerful.
That wasn't the full version
I got to see them live in concert and what impressed me the most is they sound exactly the same live as on album
Nice one :) Now, it's time for sound of silence. It's good to have context when you hear something that amazing. Enjoy!
I hope u don’t watch the edited version! It is such a bummer when reactors don’t get the full experience on a first listen!
Indestructible. You should try that. Just saw Disturbed in concert earlier this year. Excellent live show!
Love your reaction. I’ve just found them at 57 and I love them. Sound of silence is my favourite. Luv from Australia ❤️🎼❤️🎼❤️
I've just discovered your channel and I've been binge watching your videos. I've been listening to this music for almost 30 years now, but I'm loving your reactions. It's making me nostaglic for when I first heard these tunes! Ive been introducing my kids to this music and I love how a new generation is getting to experience this! 🖤
Great music stirs emotion. 🤟 Loving your reactions.😎
Music hits your senses and it brings happiness, crying, Euforia etc. Music is the one thing that is so beautiful and connects everyone no matter who or what you are. You get it if it gives you goosebumps or emotions etc. Keep going it's always going to feel good!
The tearing up is a symptom of profound musical appreciation . Also, it does not make you weak
Oo..yaas ! ..been a while since I heard this gem 😻 still so good ❤ ..oh and BTW I really like your piercings ! 💜 🤘
Actually, you're not the only one to cry at this. LOL It's emotional, hits a nerve and David just kills it with his incredible vocals. I think the emotions come from realizing and appreciating an excellent message and hearing amazing artists with their instruments! Sick Guitar behind you!!! Subscribing..
Love that it's not just me that gets choked up by music so easily! 🤣
Hey, thanks for weeping openly at something that moved you (especially music, which it's meant to do) and owning it and not being ashamed of it. It's so important for other people (men) to see that kind of thing. Just really... thank you.
Epic mate... So glad you have experienced this. And it's all good, it's just water on your face.. I'm in Adelaide, South Australia and going to see them in 14 days for the first time,,, I am so pumped for it \m/
Sound of silence is amazing as well
This is one of many songs that they have that will blow your mind. This band is badass.
You absolutely have to do sound of silence. David Draiman’s voice is mesmerizing! I could listen to David Draiman forever!
So fun to see you checking this out. 🙂
One of the most underrated metal band singers
and he has such a unique voice and vocal style unlike no other
Hard disagree.
He's the absolute worst vocalist in metal.
@@km666 Agreed. Dude is a pretentious douchebag and his voice isn't for me.
The "Live" version if nothing else but for yourself, is mind melting.
They are just as good live. I have seen them twice. They are one of the my favorites bands.
Dude is all good! It's your channel!! Speak my man!!
Yes! Stupidly or stricken. SOS is a great feature of his voice but very mellow. Although it will bring tears definitely.
Ur in for a treat diving into this band. Ooh ah ah ah ah! This is a battle cry for the abused, many of us have felt this. Powerful! Agreed just do u. Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Take action towards your dreams. Walk your talk. Dance and sing like no ones looking and not caring if they r. Support Independent Bands 100%. We throw a yrly Jam session called The Okeana Jam (on my friends land in Okeana Ohio) where local bands come out, camp in the field and play music all wkend. Thanx so much, Peace
Instant fan of the channel. Now ima binge on your videos. Lol.
There's a part of this song that's missing on this video but it's on the album and they used to play it on the radio and I'll just say I felt bad for my mom when I listened to this song and that part came on with the stuff he says lol.
Mollyboy, please do Mushroomhead. You will hear vocals like you never have before. Visuals you will be shocked by, and music you will love. Like nothing you ever seen or heard. You will have a lot of new viewers for this, I know. Qwerty, Solitaire unraveling, the heresy, we are the Truth, carry on, save us ,and many many more. Some videos are 17 years old, and they still rocking out today. I promise you a new group of freaks if you start down this rabbit hole. My favorite band, period
Whoa. I NEVER see anyone mention Mushroomhead. That video for Solitaire Unraveling was amazing. Heresy is wild, too, with the woman's voice added. I haven't seen a ton of them but I do agree mightily with those two.
YO -- Mushroomhead is f'n legit AF
MushroomHead "Burn" & "Sun Doesn't Rise"❤
Bud, this band is on my top 10 favorite bands behind Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Bush, Linkin Park, Godsmack, Staind, and Seether.
A couple of things, my friend: 1) Badass piercing, brother! I like what you said about those who don't like your piercings but don't have a problem with the lead singer of Disturbed...you do you 😁 I say if someone or something doesn't improve the quality of your life, then let it roll off your back.
2) You mentioned Godsmack. They are crazy badass. Shannon Larkin of Godsmack is my second favorite drummer of all time behind Dave Grohl (Nirvana drummer and now lead singer of Foo Fighters). One song to listen to by Godsmack is "Straight Out of Line." Crazy good song.
Keep going down this road of Medal, Nu Metal, and Grunge! I've been following grunge since 1991 (I was 8 years old haha). Great reactions, brother!
Annihilator - Alice In Hell or Never Neverland
Apocalyptica - Path
Nightwish - with Tarja- Statgazers, Wishmaster, Phantom Of The Opera
King Diamond - Eye Of The Witch
Kreator - Betrayer
Sepultura - Territory
Cannibal Corpse, Obituari... Baby Metal... Van Canto
Yes, get some Annihilator on, 🤘🏼
You are taking the journey that I did in metal in 30 years but in a few videos. Your path is being very logical to approach the genre, little by little, without haste and with a certain chronological order to understand a little evolution of metal while enjoying everything.
I cry when I listen to music...it's powerful
Down with the Sickness” is one of Disturbed’s most successful songs. The song was recorded in 1999 and was released as the second single from their debut studio album, The Sickness. The song has been certified platinum.
Disturbed is a phenomenal rabbit hole to dive into!!!!
His voice is so dam good and he adds percussion rhythms into his lyrics, which is very unique not to mention he has the best sounding grit while singing
Every single time I crack up at his opening “ooh ah ah ah ah” and can’t help it 😂 💀
You would probably like Stabbing Westward, one of my favorite bands, they were doing alternative metal/industrial in the 90’s with an extremely mainstream slant, pretty much anything off of “Darkest Days” would get you; Save Yourself, Drugstore, The Thing I Hate etc. Save Yourself has a video.
Omg! Soundf silence is theeee best cover ever! Even so approved by the original artist, definitely worth it, especially the live version for Conan. Brilliant band 👏
I saw Disturbed live about 2 weeks before this video was released. Glad to see another convert.
Music resonates in your soul.Don't ever hide it.
YES! Live and let live. Love that message!
Wise words Molly Boy just do your thang bro!!
Brings back memories listening to this, great song, and amazing vocals as all Disturbed songs.
Disturbed good pick
My favs are stricken, sickened, rise, perfect insanity. Pretty good and fun stuff nothing crazy hard. Love David Draiman‘s voice very unique
(OzzFest 2001) We took our 6 months old daughter & hauled her around from band to band in the backpack. Her and I have seen Disturbed a handful of times and were lucky enough to go backstage at a concert in Richmond, VA.🖤🤘🏻🖤
Ur becoming my favourite reactor.keep being you
One of my faves from these guys!!! I like your piercing! Always do you! 💋
Sound of silence is a cover, but my jaw hit the floor. It's so moving full of meaning. Wow i love disturbed ❤
Never be ashamed to feel deeply or to show those feelings. David is great at emoting and he has brought me to tears many times (not that it is a challenge). You will have to do the full version as well, but don’t feel bad you didn’t know.
You've woken up the demon....In ME!!...🤟
OTEP- RISE, REBEL,RESIST
So hype for this
Great reaction 👍👍
Great reaction! Don't worry about showing emotion, good music always brings out some emotions! Please continue down the rabbit hole with Disturbed, you won't be disappointed! Also you have to try Falling in Reverse. Their songs, Popular Monster, Voices in my Head, Watch the World Burn, Zombified and Last Resort to name a few. Keep up the good work, love your reactions!!
Awesome reaction, thank you. It is so nice to see how much you connect with the music you are hearing! Might I suggest one for you? The Game by Motorhead I promise you that you won't be disappointed ;)
"If you're not hurting anyone, just do you." Man if the world could just get a grip on that statement we'd all be a lot happier.
The music your listening to is a representation of life. I always heard sound, at the point I realized what the words meant. It changed music for me.
You most definitely need to do a reaction to the full version!!
Great reaction! This was their big hit. My favorite for these guys is "Stupify"...makes the little hairs on my eardrum stand up!
