They were from here in Jacksonville Florida and I visit the graves every chance I get. Very serene. They were raised just up the road from me. Their high-school coach was always on their ass about their hair and dress code. His name was Leonard Skinner. That's who they named the band after. Odd, he's buried not far from their graves. Sad day for Jacksonville Florida that day in 1977.
Skynyrd's guitar army could play off of each other like no one else. They just passed the lead from one to another, plus Ronnies vocals and the piano solos from Billie.
I was with you on all the feels bro. It just hit me, on a Tuesday Morning I got married and yrs later divorced on a Tues morning too. Wasn't into southern rock 50 yrs ago but remembered Free Bird played everywhere. Now Rediscovering LS music from bingeing reaction videos all week. Discovering this masterpiece today just like this young guy here. The guitar Solos gutted me & made me remember both of my tues mornings. ( was that Gary or Allen?) & beautiful piano and orchestra sounds played like Mozart 😊
Now there can be some understanding why us who grew up with music like this have a hard time with today’s music.Yes there is a few songs out there now ,we had a steady diet of this.I am lucky to have grown up when I did.
Its a popular one.saw them live twice before 1977. Them and Kansas best concerts I ever went to and I've been to hundreds no lie. Tickets back then were 5.50.
The passion, the relentless work ethic and the grinding and grinding. Its hard to beleive that some good ol boys from the same town can blend the perfect harmonies and layers of sound for all of the world to love. It goes to show, never give up until your gone.
Although I love a lot of their other songs so much, this song is my personal favorite based on the instrumentation and vibe, alone. The main riff just feels so damn good. And just when that great piano solo makes you forget about the main guitar riff, it smoothly slides back in right after the piano solo and punches you in the gut.. It's so good.
Well, this song is always in any playlist i make. Good lord jesus this music just rips me apart every time i experience it. :-) You still have a long Journey down the Lynyrd Skynyrd train. Enjoy it my friend. :-)
Thanks for playing Lynyrd Skynyrd ❤ I Love, love them 😅I did see them live they were Phenomenal🎉❤Love your show,Rock on! Oh yeah they are Rock and Roll all the way!😊
Spring of '74 I was finishing my sophomore year of high school, my older brother arrived home after 2+ years in the Mediterranean with the Navy's 7th Fleet. This was one of the albums he brought home to the tiny village that we'd moved to while he was in the Navy. By then, I'd heard of this band, as their song Sweet Home Alabama was all over am radio and small town juke boxes. This album, however, was a revelation to me. Every damn song on this album is good enough to be a best song on anyone else's album, and I discovered it at the same time I was discovering The Charlie Daniels Band, The Marshall Tucker Band, The Allman Brothers Band, and another band out of Florida called The Outlaws. It was my year of southern rock and blues, and it completely altered the direction of my musical interests going into young adulthood.
Saw them in Miami 2 days before the plane crash They packed the sportatorium and had to resale ticket stubs because so many people showed up Great show from a great band
I don't think it's underrated to anyone who has heard it. thanks for all the awesome reactions. I really enjoy seeing you enjoy all these classics. have an awesome day
So good!! Skynyrd has fifteen songs in my top ten!! Hahaha!! Made in the Shade Mississippi Kid Curtis Lowe FREEBIRD Swamp Music Tuesday's Gone Things Going On Gimme Back My Bullets Call me the Breeze And on, and on, and on!!
This is one of my favorites from Skynyrd but it has a little different meaning to me than most ♥️ My Dad passed in 2009 on a Saturday, was buried on a Tuesday. Four years later my Mom passed on a Saturday & was also buried on a Tuesday so that’s what I think of when I hear this 😢♥️ Beautiful song 🎤♥️
I'm sorry for your two Tuesdays in your life. I married on a Tues and divorced on another Tues. Then there was Tues. 9/11 trying to get in touch with family.
You should hear the live version on one more from the road . It's spectacular the haunting harmonic n you can really feel the passion they had in the music when they did they're live shows ..they were the best.
I was in the Army in 1973 when my Army buddy introduced me to Skynyrd. Tuesday's Gone became my favorite song from the first album and I believe most Skynyrd fans hold it as one of the bands best songs, however they have many great songs.
So very glad that you hit "Tuesday's Gone" - it's always been my favorite Skynyrd song. And you hit it SO on the head - bliss, from the guitars and their emotion, to the piano solo that I noticed you were loving, and the organ toward the end, and their typical epic outro. More Skynyrd please.
Excellent reaction. I went with you. This is a BEAUTIFUL song. Imagine being young, full of pain and this song comes on. It's healing. Our songs were healing. I don't know why. Didn't really realize it then. I knew we were hearing some great music and this came out when I was young but the energy reached gen x and then we carried it to the millennials and still crank it in our cars today. The world has lost some very talented and passionate artists. When the instruments sing on their own, all bands back then were like that and could sync immediately. I think it's because times were simple and people were friends and we became their friends too. Love was at each concert.
Hey my brother, it is so satisfying to see some people reacting to the music I grew up listening to. But that's not a good description for such a simple act, because...there's so much more to it. It's primarily dependent on who...is the one listening to the music. People are very different, and the ability to recognize different levels of skill of the musicians and the mastership of song writing, structure, and effect. Some people just can't recognize very special aspects, or relate their reactions or explain, what it was specifically...that they felt about the song and their feelings received from it. But, I enjoy your reactions...and it's funny because, I already know about all skynyrd songs, but it's so satisfying to watch someone realize the special aspects of each and every song! But the thing that is so enjoyable about watching someone go through the skynyrd library, is that almost every song has it's own particular greatness, and you can go from one to the other feeling that THAT one was my favorite! Each time, feeling like, nope...'that' one is my favorite!! You have soooo many songs to hear by them still, it's amazing! But if I may, I'd like to recommend one. Whether or not you respond to my recommendation, remains to be seen. But, you never know! So, "call me the breeze" is the one I recommend. How ever, any way you go on the skynyrd rabbit hole, your going to be rewarded! Peace my brother!! Michael Kane
What you heard here is the original band in the studio. When you find the live version, you'll likely find some videos from concerts after the plane crash, so as a reactor, you will likely notice how they kept the integrity of the music and their tunes and kept the spirit of their songs essentially in tact - the other word I might use to describe this effect and their music - timeless.
Couldn't agree more my friend love your Rush and Sknyrd reactions two of my favourite bands. This one its a very special song.I know it makes you happy but its a sad song for me reminding me of a painful love affair that didn't work out. That guitar and piano cries my tears for me but I am still rolling with that train.
It does people born and raised in the South in the 50s through the 70s good to hear people react to the music we have been listening to for 50 years now with the same level of joy it brought us and continues to bring us. You would flip out over Call Me The Breeze, T for Texas recorded in Knebworth England, and perhaps classics like I Know a Little. They were just fabulous.
That was the first time I have heard this song and it made me rather emotional, I actually have tears in my eyes ! Thanks for introducing me to it . ....great reaction!
My toxic trait is that I know every single Skynyrd song by heart and I'm not afraid to sing them horribly but with gusto on karaoke if I've had enough whiskey. 😂 Sad but true story.
Check out The Outlaws, Green Grass and High Tides Forever. The MUST KNOW 4 Southern Rock Masters are Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Outlaws, .38 Special and Molly Hatchet. If you ever do Molly Hatchet, start with Dreams I'll Never See. 😊
Keep heading down that rabbit hole brother... This was my band in the 70's along with Led Zeppelin. I went into a depressed state when the plane crashed and Ronnie, Steve & Cassie were killed. Street survivors had just come out with fire surrounding them which some said was a premonition. Regardless we lost one of the greatest southern rock bands of the times. Rossington Collins band followed with Gary Rossington & Allen Collins with Gary's wife singing . Another great band but short lived. Check them out as well... ✌️
Skynyrd never disappointed, especially live (One More From the Road recorded at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta). I saw them many times, and they were truly a hard act to follow. If you'd like to know about their roots, check out the the Ballad of Curtis Loew.... "He looked to be 60, maybe I was 10; Mama used to whoop me but I'd go see him again. I'd clap my hands, stomp my feets, try to stay in time. He'd play me a song or two, then take another drink of wine." THIS should be your next reaction.
Top 5 LS song. Song is a Southern Rock Symphony! Masterpiece. No band like them. Their sound gets in you. Remember these songs are pushing 50 years old and stands time.
....takes me back to a really good time in my life....I 1st heard this when I was 18yrs old...I'm almost 70 now....does my heart good to see a young one hear them the first time....✌️...💫✨💫✨☺️....
One of their less played, best songs. Skynyrd Rocks....
They were from here in Jacksonville Florida and I visit the graves every chance I get. Very serene. They were raised just up the road from me. Skynyrd didn't record a bad song. Every song by this band is a true masterpiece.
Lynyrd Skynyrd’s use of three lead guitarists made them pretty unique.
Billy Powell on keyboards! RIP!
Play it pretty for atlanta
The Ballad of Curtis Loew is another special one.
This band has a knack for conveying emotion in such a universal way. It's uncanny.
Almost fifty years later, and their music is still so stalwart!
Because they won the battle.
You have to hit "The needle and the spoon" "That Smell" "I need you" and "Call me the breeze"!
Pretty sure Call Me the Breeze is the reason zombies exist, because it's impossibe not to move to that one even if you are a corpse😅
Just a bunch of Florida country boys expressing themselves in the best way. And they shared it with all of us
The rabbit hole is very deep my friend .. Welcome to the greatest American band in history..enjoy the ride
Amen sir. The very greatest
This band was absolutely life giving to us in the 70’s, hard to explain, it was pure and true and soul reaching, still is
Still is.
Will always be
Skynyrd's guitar army could play off of each other like no one else. They just passed the lead from one to another, plus Ronnies vocals and the piano solos from Billie.
Billy
Saw em several times in the 70s. Always a great show. Live ? Ridiculously fun.
Tuesday’s Gone is arguably the greatest Skynyrd song ever. Always reminds me of Happy Gilmore
They were so close as humans. The same experiences. They were one soul in the best of ways.
That beautiful guitar was played by the late Gary Rossington, RIP. Gary had a knack for flowing and melodic lead lines.
I was with you on all the feels bro. It just hit me, on a Tuesday Morning I got married and yrs later divorced on a Tues morning too. This is in my top ten songs of all time
Skynyrd doing what they do best - Southern Rock Ballads. I love the other songs but I feel that this one is their best.
What a journey, thank you for the trip. ✌️❤️💋
One of the best songs by one of the best bands ever! Lynyrd Skynyrd is off the charts! Their music soothes my soul 🔥
Another great Skynyrd song is, 'that smell'
“Oak tree you’re in my way.”
I remember when they reported on the news about the plane crash I was 14 I cried!
There is no better song to listen to when driving alone late at night.
The passion, the relentless work ethic and the grinding and grinding. Its hard to beleive that some good ol boys from the same town can blend the perfect harmonies and layers of sound for all of the world to love. It goes to show, never give up until your gone.
Thanks for giving this one a chance, check out their song That Smell
Although I love a lot of their other songs so much, this song is my personal favorite based on the instrumentation and vibe, alone.
The main riff just feels so damn good. And just when that great piano solo makes you forget about the main guitar riff, it smoothly slides back in right after the piano solo and punches you in the gut.. It's so good.
My favorite Skynyrd song as well. It pulls on your heart strings.
This song has been part of my life for over 40 years. Always gave me tears. Just beautiful.
I grew up listening to this song, still gives me chills!! Most beautiful instrumentals ever in a song.
One of our favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd songs!
One of my favorite skynyrd tunes. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Billy Powell on keys! Keep turning the fade out up!
Oh yeah they are Rock and Roll all the way!😊
Oh how I would have loved to see them live with Ronnie!!
Gary Rossington gets to you with that soulful guitar doesn't he
The movie 'Happy Gilmore' is all I think about when I hear this song. Good times! >X'0
Mr. Banker is a phenomenal song!

always think of happy gilmore when i hear this beauty
This song is often overlooked, but is one of my favorites!
HUGELY POPULAR song, which sure you heard by now.
Don't ask me no questions. Another good one. The words to his songs are very relatable.
Saw them in Miami 2 days before the plane crash They packed the sportatorium and had to resale ticket stubs because so many people showed up Great show from a great band
My favorite Skynyrd song 🎵 !!! You can FEEL the soul oozing in every second ❤
Tuesdays gone is a master piece
I don't think it's underrated to anyone who has heard it. thanks for all the awesome reactions. I really enjoy seeing you enjoy all these classics. have an awesome day
thank you Bob!
Allen Collins wrote this beautiful music. With Ronnie’s lyrics and Billy on that piano, it’s an incredible piece, isn’t it?
Best band ever. Ronnie Vanzant was the greatest band creator and conductor . He had the best musicians ever!!!!
I agree! This has always been my favorite Lynyrd Skynyrd song. Such soul
One of their very best. Such a majestic, soulful song. Pronounced is one of rock's truly great albums.
So good!! Skynyrd has fifteen songs in my top ten!!
Hahaha!!
Made in the Shade
Mississippi Kid
Curtis Lowe
FREEBIRD
Swamp Music
Tuesday's Gone
Things Going On
Gimme Back My Bullets
Call me the Breeze
And on, and on, and on!!
I couldn’t pick a “favorite” Skynard song but this is way up there towards the top. Absolutely magnificent…
My favorite Skynyrd song
This is one of my favorites from Skynyrd but it has a little different meaning to me than most ♥️ My Dad passed in 2009 on a Saturday, was buried on a Tuesday. I know the ladies always loved this one, their emotional critters anyhow and this helps them get to that space where there are no words to describe
Don't ya love that feeling, listen away and open your eyes to realize you're still recording.

This song still gets regular play on Classic Rock stations, so yeah, it is/was pretty popular.
Excellent guitars, three guitar army.
Another great Skynyrd reaction. "Call me the breeze" is a great song.
💥💥💥👍😎
my favorite song my favorite band. This IS Blues.

Got to do "Call Me the Breeze" And "I Know a Little"
Now that’s the correct reaction to this song 👍🏻

Great reaction!!!!! Stevie ray vaughn Texas flood from elmacambo. This has to be on your bucket list. One of the greatest guitarist ever!!!!!

Call Me The Breeze One More From The Road
Fyi. This is an absolute classic.
You definitely need to hear CALL ME THE BREEZE!! The original band's version! Love your reactions. ♥️

💥💥💥💥💥💥💥👍👍👍😎
thank you so much for being here!
Please listen to more of their music, its not all Freebird.
My toxic trait is that I know every single Skynyrd song by heart and I'm not afraid to sing them horribly but with gusto on karaoke if I've had enough whiskey. 😂 Sad but true story.
Great song. Southern rock and strings are seldom dance partners, yet here we are. The guitars play off them beautifully.
This is my favorite as well. I also love 'I Need You' and hope you continue to check out Lynyrd Skynyrd .
Terrific reaction! I have loved this song since its release - pulls at the heart.
Check out The Outlaws, Green Grass and High Tides Forever. The MUST KNOW 4 Southern Rock Masters are Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Outlaws,

This is my favorite of theirs. You should try "Call me the Breeze" and "Was i right ir wrong"
One of my personal favorites 😍
this song means so much more now that I'm older . thanks
Skynyrd never disappointed, especially live (One More From the Road recorded at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta). I saw them many times, and they were truly a hard act to follow. Had a chance to see them on 87 reunion tour great show
Top 5 LS song. Song is a
Southern Rock Symphony! Masterpiece. No band like them. Their sound gets in you. Remember these songs are pushing 50 years old and stands time.
The tracks are always much better 😊live.
Amazing as i would say Tuesday is the most underrated day of the week for sure.
....takes me back to a really good time in my life....I 1st heard this when I was 18yrs old...I'm almost 70 now....does my heart good to see a young one hear them the first time....✌️...💫✨💫✨☺️....
This tune is one of my favorite skynyrd tunes
Check out ballad of Curtis Lowe
another favorite by them is called That Smell . try it
Love to see someone new really get & enjoy their music. You'll find yourself singing..."Tuesday's gone ...
This was the first Skynyrd song I ever heard back when I was a kid and it remains a favorite. Beautiful.
This was “After the party cool down song.” Most of the people have gone, the place is a bit of mess and time to do a little bit of cleaning.
I guess that’s why they used it in the movie Dazed and Confused as the Big party was winding down.
Ronnie has such great diction, you can hear everything. This song has so much meaning and you can understand without lyrics. He was a great singer.
Awesome reaction.Hopefully you can react to T for Texas live from the convention hall from 1977
