    PPG Omni automotive paint with all the Omni components is so easy to do and only sand once before painting. If its hot get the extra slow reducer to let it flow out. Practice on something to set the gun and it would have been a long weekend, not three months. If you're smart enough to do the job you did, I'm positive you could manage using automotive paint and get it done once and walk away. If I can learn to do it anyone can. Enjoyed watching anyway, Thanks . DS

    • @RoamingWithRosie
      @RoamingWithRosie  Місяць тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback - what kind of sprayer did you use and secondly will the Omni stick to the Rustoleum once sanded? I take it that the Omni is not a single stage paint and would need to hit with clear coat.

    I saw those tall spray cans at HD was wondering about those perfect for big jobs like this. I would recommend a respirator when using spray cans. I once messed up my lungs painting POR-15 using a brush not even spraying it without a respirator had to use an inhaler for a month. I use one now on everything if I can smell paint, I use it. POR nasty stuff it is made like superglue it reacts to moisture I got a wiff of fumes couldn't stop coughing. House paint lacquer usually not a problem I still use one when spraying it out of a can. The RV came out looking really good.

    • @RoamingWithRosie

      In the 3rd episode, at one minute in, I talked about the rolling and tipping they do on yachts, but then I said I tried that and I wasn't happy with it so came up with my own. I should have clarified "my own" meant no tipping. Sorry if that wasn't clear. So, only used a brush to get around smaller areas and edges. Thank you for hanging in there with us!

    I just printed your supply list and am not sure what you used the Rustoleum Gloss Black, Satin Black Pro Enamel, Gloss Black Spray Paint and Clear Gloss Spray Paint on. I watched your videos and I didn't notice you mention any of these during the process. Thank you so much for the videos, they are very helpful.

      I used the gloss black spray paint on the mirrors and the grab bars. The Satin Black was for the storage latches. I used clear on top of the black on the latches and other scare light bezels. Hope this helps.

    Why didnt you do the spray cans for the entire rv?

    • @RoamingWithRosie
      @RoamingWithRosie  10 місяців тому +2

      A couple of reasons. I don’t have a spray booth and the overspray. There would be a lot more masking if I were to spray the entire RV. Also the spray is more expensive. The rolling was easier to control the coverage.

    • @RoamingWithRosie
      @RoamingWithRosie  Рік тому +1

      I actually found some special sanding disks that allowed me to dry sand it with a orbital sander. That saved a lot of time and elbow grease.

    Great job Did you find the paint to lay down better with less orange peel with the turbo can or the roller ?

    • @RoamingWithRosie
      @RoamingWithRosie  2 місяці тому +2

      There was more orange peel using the roller. That’s why I put on 5 coats. Giving me more material to sand out imperfections.
      Thanks for watching!

  • @cbcpaulh
    @cbcpaulh 10 місяців тому

    Hi, aside from limited selection of color and cost, would you have considered using the turbo spray cans throughout the coach as oppose to rolling it?
    Also, did 5 coats of rolling really help with the depth of the paint? Would 3 coats do very similar as well? Lastly, when you used the turbo sprays, that was only 2 coats or was it 5? Thanks!

    • @RoamingWithRosie
      @RoamingWithRosie  10 місяців тому +1

      Turbo spraying the upper half would have required a lot more masking and I would have to worry about overspray.
      The 5 coats made easy to sand out the imperfections without sanding through the paint.
      I sprayed 5 coats of the Turbo spray as well.
      Hope this helps.

    Look pretty hard to see if somebody asked this. Maybe I missed it. What was the total hours of labor involved?

    • @RoamingWithRosie
      @RoamingWithRosie  4 місяці тому

      No, we didn't keep track. It was done outdoors, so weather was a constant factor. Also, Jamie's on the north side of 60 yrs. Sometimes a day of rest and stretching were needed. The project was started in March & completed middle of June. It also will depend on what kind of repairs need to be made on yourrv exterior.
