Can you do this with eleastic band?
Should work! One quick thought - the elastic will have more pull than just plain ribbon. So if it's stretched when put on, the elastic pull could cause the clips to slip off the waistband. The clips I used had flat surfaces. So if you were to go with elastic, it might not be a bad idea to use clips that have little "teeth" on them instead so they have a stronger grip.
