This is the first video in a longer series about making a versatile Workbench/Workstation. This project is especially awesome for small workshops but the general construction methods can be used for any size wood shop!
The design is based on a workbench from a German woodworking magazine, presented in two of their issues that I bought a couple of years ago and in this video:

Here´s a short list of tools that I use or that went into the workbench. These are affiliate links that will lead you straight to the amazon page of the item.

You have some of the best videos I have seen on UA-cam . Brilliant design/execution and just what I’ve been needing for a long time. Thank you for sharing. Cheers from Canada👍🏻
Wow thank you man! Cheers from Germany :D
Great video! Nice handsaw.
Hi Thomas. Thank you for sharing this video. I have a garage about your side. Looking forward to see part 2 of your video. Thank you again.
Hi Jack! Awesome that you liked it :) Thank you for watching!
Wow! The idea is great! I'm so excited to see the rest. Thanks for sharing!
Hey Einar! Glad you liked it! Good to have you watching!
That thickness planer/jointer combination machine is really cool, I've never seen anything like that. Great vid from a new sub :)
Cool to have you mate :) That type of machine is actually quite common in germany and the usual if you need a small planer. Thanks for watching!
You're a meticulous, perfectionist craftsman just like myself ; )) Nice work!
Thanks :D good to have you here!
Waiting for the next part!
Merci beaucoup pour la vidéo
⚙️🔩🔧⚒️ Very nice project 🛠️, great video 🎥 !! _ Congratulations! 👍 🇧🇷
wird ne Hammer Werkbank Hut ab! mein Abo hast du Gruss aus Edmonton
Danke! Grüße aus dem Spreewald
Fantastic video, only thing id say is maybe turn the music down a little and emphasize the voice a little more. Solid project!
Thanks :) you´re right, the music level is always a tricky thing. Hope I got it right on the second one. Thank you for watching and pointing that out!
Great ideas ,but why you don't protect your hand while working in wood ?
Great video. Well done. Could you please tell me who makes the Jointer/Planer you are using?
Hi Rodney, that company doesnt exist anymore. It was made by Elektra Beckum. However Metabo took over most of their product line and I think still makes it today with only minor changes.
just found your channel...subs
Awesome! Thanks and welcome to my workshop!
Great project. Would you share the CAD design ? Is it Fusion 360 based ?
Hi Guido!
I don't know about the cad files yet but i definitely want to share the plans once the workbench is finished, in case I need to make some changes on the way. Thank you for watching!
hye thomas...😃👋 im from malaysia..what model planner machine you use? how much? i wanna buy it😃👍💪
Hey :D Mine is an "Elektra Beckum HC 260". It was made around 1990. The company doesn´t exist anymore but Metabo took over most of their stuff and is still producing it today. I bought it second hand. But there are many different makers of those machines. The prices vary from 800-2000 € depending on the brand.
wooow
what kind of saws do you use? could you please leave a link for me i've been keen on buying it.
Hello Eureka,
I have two Japanese-Style pull saws from a German company. The blades can be changed. Here are the links to their site:

Hi, nice project. I have 2 question, why have you chosen to laminate your board for the torsion box?
And what do you think about your jointer/ thiknesser
Hi, I laminated the boards, because its cheaper for me and because it should be less likely to warp or crack later.
As for my jointer/ thicknesser, I think its good for small shops, like mine, because it doesn´t need much space. But aside from that, its not always practical, because you can never use both jointer and thicknesser at the same time.
is it possible te use plywood instead of lamination ? (i don't have a jointer/thiknesser yet)
thanks for the advice
Yes it is, but plywood that thick, or lets say 30 mm instead of the 40 mm I have, would be very expensive. Maybe you can go to a local carpenter shop and ask them what they would charge for planing down the large boards for you, so you could prepare the stock (the first step of planing the thin strips is not 100% necessary). Then you can see what´s the cheaper option.
Btw i buy all my big machines used. That way I save a lot of money. And with 2 or 3 larger projects a jointer/thicknesser already pays off, rough cut sock comes much cheaper than smooth planed stock.
Thanks
fuck i suck at making dovetail joints
