Hey everyone! Thank you very much for all of the feedback and comments on this build! Since building it, I have put it through the paces in the shop and it is doing amazingly well! A lot of you have asked about my dust port on my cordless circular saw. It is a customized Ridgid Brushless circular saw that I cut the guard on and used epoxy to mount an old Shop Vac nozzle into. I am putting together content for a UA-cam video explaining why and how I did it as well as how it is holding up. Thanks again and stay tuned for more! Casey
Skip the music the talking is way more exciting. Nice project. I made the drawer bottoms from a fine mash material and put a slide out piece of thin plywood on the bottom of the cabinet collecting all the dust what would be accumulate otherwise in the drawers. Thanks for sharing.
Couldn’t agree more. Music can be a powerful mood controller for a video but it should be so low that it never breaks into the viewer’s consciousness. Your best point is that we came to hear the insights of this clever fabricator, and that’s music to our ears😅
What I like about this video is you don’t waste time telling us what you’re about to do. Seeing it happen and explaining it as it goes along is a better use of my time than getting ticked off with endless explanation of what you’re about to see.
Thank you for the comment and feedback. I try to make content based on what I like to learn from. I am a visual learner with instruction. Hearing someone tell me what they are going to do isn’t worth it to me. Thanks for watching!
I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.
Great craftsmanship....noticed some Paulk details. It amazes me how craftsmen, 100 years ago, or more, were no different than today's. They designed their tables for the time and were able to make what they did.
I know what you’re saying and my tools have improved over the years so I am not far off your target. I do this for a cash earning hobby and am extremely fortunate that I can do it at this level and work with cool companies. Thanks for watching!
New to wood work but 20 years metal experience. Been searching videos for days. Happy I found this one. Christmas one day early. I'm aware already Kregg is the truth but thank you for making this video. This is my permanent work bench I'm going to replicate your work man. Than you. I will comment again once I finish. Thanks again to you for your time and Kregg for the greatest jigs ever made to the DIY. Happy holidays.
Thank you Phil! The thing is a tank and is up for most tasks! I had it out in the driveway last night and people were driving by slowly and looking at it. 😊

I've been looking for a video like this for months.. Most woodworking channels use too many fancy tools to do their projects. You did this project with simple tools w/ the same, if not better results than most other woodworking channel would've done. You just earned a sub my friend.
Why thank you! I used what I had in my shop and you can really build this without fancy looks. Its all in what you have available and how you want the bench to look. Thanks again! 👍🏻
Honest question. If you think this was built with simple tools what videos have you seen, channel?, and what fancy tools are you talking about. Not everyone has a nice table saw or all the pocket hole products he uses or even a router. This table has got to be the best I've seen yet though.
Thanks for the question. All of my tools are run of the mill big box store tools that are readily available and affordable. Technically, you could build this table with a drill/ impact, circ saw, and a jig saw. The sanders and routers are all for superficial reasons. I do this for a hobby that sometimes pays for itself. So when I get some funds, they go to buy new tools. Thats all. Thanks again and I appreciate the feedback and the compliment. The table has been awesome in my shop since it was built. Just used it tonight. 👍🏻👍🏻
@@Hood.Housekeeping you clearly haven't seen other people's videos making this type of workbenches, but like he said, you could always buy those inexpensive tools anywhere and still get the job done. Really glad I discovered your channel! I know this one is from 4 years ago, but as with your recent sled build, this outfeed/work table is pretty much just the design I’ve been looking for. Most excellent!

The video was sponsored by Kreg, yes. I love when my wife comes out and we can work through a project together and enjoy eachothers time. Start with something small and simple for the house or for a gift for a loved one and work from there. It may come. Thanks!
That is an awesome table. I’m a rookie and just beginning to develop my skills and videos like yours really help and also help with setting goals. Thank you.
Maybe under the overhanging end you could install a paper reel to pull up over the tabletop when doing glue-ups or finishing. Just a couple holes, a rod with end caps, and the paper reel and you're in business.
You know, I thought about that and just never implemented it. Currently, that is where my vertical clamping table saw jig is stored. Fits perfectly, so much so, that I forget its there! LOL. Thanks for watching!

spectacular bench. Nice job. I have a Ron Paulk style assembly table very similar to what you made. I used dog holes instead of the kreg clamp system. If I made it again, I might go your route.
Thanks John! Yeah I initially thought about the dog hole route but didnt want to spend all that time marking and drilling . I use a lot of small screws in some projects and I would just be knocking those into the holes all day long LOL. Thanks again and have a great day!
Nice table. With what kreg charge's for their merchandise they can certainly afford to hook you up CR that's for sure. I don't blame you for getting a few cents of their $30,000,000 a year advertising bubget. Good job!
Never saw you do anything crazy complex but you made an amazing bench. Best kind of video. Awesome product and something an amateur can do with a bit of care and time. Great Job!!
The 90° pockethole clamps? Yes and yes they will make any pockethole joinery project easier. If you do any plywood work, check out the Kreg corner clamps as well. Those are really nice.
@@CReevesMakes Actually I dont have any kind of these tools , but as long as I watch any videos that contained this brand, absolutely I wud say , *they make this job easily* .. indeed
I’ve watched about a hundred bench videos and I think this one is my favorite. How many hours did it take you to do this ? I want to make sure I budget enough time.
I do this as a hobby so it took a long time for me but I would say a solid week or so depending on availability. Figure a day to get and cut materials, a day to cut slots and build the torsion box, a day to build the base and the drawers, and a day to do the tracks and melamine stuff. That’s 4 solid days so, yeah a week with some forgiveness built in. Good luck and thank you very much. I have a link on my website for all the things I use in my shop and in my projects. They are affiliate links so it helps support what I do in my shop. Thanks
CReeves Makes, lol that would make your video even better. nice work btw. to bad you couldn't get the black melamine top in half inch. the bevel edge adds a nice dimension tho. enjoy your awesome table!!
AWESOME video & high end pool table, I mean workbench LOL. In all honesty what a functional piece of art, not to mention showing how versatile and useful Kreg systems are.
if you didn't get it - this was a kreg marketing promo - also MICROJIG! hahaha Nice project man, but honestly if you didn't receive any money and/or free tools from kreg be sure to mention that in the video. Otherwise it's a nice project which you put a lot of work into but really is just an infomercial.
I did mention at the end that the video was sponsored by Kreg. I will definitely say it in the beginning for the next video. Thank you for the input and feedback. - Casey
I see you have Kreg everything... I suppose they subsidized this Kreg commercial you made... LOL. Nice work, but having all their gadgets is not a reality for most.
Hey Bob, yes the video was sponsored by them to promote their clamping and cabinet building accessories. I build alot of cabinet style and craft style projects and this is the perfect setup for me. I agree that most people will not need or pay for all of this product, but it shows the capability.
Sure i figured. I have been making high end cabs and furniture for 30+ years and had the screw pocket jig when it first came out in the early 90's.. Didnt use it very often. IMO its not good to use any one system bc it limits what a person will learn when it comes to how things can be done and all the options you have.
I agree Bob, I see its limitations and I have been wanting to test other forms of joinery as I grow in my hobby. For the jobs I have completed to this point, the pocket holes have been a great way to produce quick and strong results. Thanks for the feedback. 👍🏻
I'm very impressed with your channel, I just found it today. I like the style a lot. I will be looking at a lot of your projects to steal ideas. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, and please continue.
Thank you very much Brady! I am glad you like it and stay tuned for some fun videos coming up. I am trying to set up a shop tour video before winter. How did you find my channel?
CReeves Makes- Casey, I'm a Welder/fabricator by trade and travel around UA-cam quite a lot. Woodwork was a hobby that my gramps had a passion for and he was my hero so it just naturally was my passion as well. I started my run in Craftsmanship well over 50 years ago sitting in my high chair with my gramps, uncle, dad and uncles best buddy explaining to me what they were doing until I was old enough to work with them and eventually do it myself. At 54 my goal now is to become a Journerman or Master Machinist, Blacksmith, and Bladesmith. I also feel that it is extremely important to "Pay it Forward" or "Keep the Trades Alive" in other words, help the younger or next generation learn what we tradesman know by teaching those who truly want to learn. And then it's their responsibility to pass it on to the next Gen. ....
Thanks for the video. I made several outfeed tables for my shop but the latest one really acts as a 4' x 8' layout table, an infeed table at the exact height to my table saw (cutting a 4' x 8' of sheet goods is easy now) and a storage center for scraps of different lengths of wood. I made the wood storage spaces to different lengths ranging from 24" to six feet. I now don't need a shelf system on one of my walls taking up critical shop space. I also bought some really great wheels with locks at Rockler's so I can move my the table any time I need the room. Really enjoyed watching your project!
Awesome Ed! I agree that wood storage robs the shop of critical space. I like the idea of sliding it into the bench! Sounds like your shop is well set up! Thanks and take care!
@@CReevesMakes Money/screws shouldn't matter as long as your doing something you enjoy doing. I plan to build a similar build and I plan to use plenty of Kreg screws. CReeves keep on building!!!!!!!
Good video... well done on clear instruction. Mostly I watched this because I didn't know much about Kreg tools, so for it was effectively a 15 minute commercial for Kreg clamps. You've converted me to the Kreg system.
Well thank you very much! I wanted to show the versatility of the products and how I use it. Glad you got the information you needed/wanted and good luck! 👍🏻
I recently built this and am happy with the results. Casey did a great job and put a lot of thought into the design. I would recommend the project but there are a few things I would do differently. I paid a premium price for MDF with a laminate top and wish I had just bought the laminate myself and glued it to hardwood ply. The reason? You have to screw through the ply underneath the MDF to attach it and screws do not work well in MDF. In that regard, plywood isn't that great either, but it's much better that MDF! And I experimented with every method - different pilot holes, etc. Also, be careful where you put the third crosspiece on the torsion box. The metal track sits right above it and there is not a lot of wiggle room to get the screws in. And he doesn't mention it, but you can't put the last crosspiece in until the very end of the build because the screws from the rear metal track have to be in first. And you'll need to notch out the crosspiece to accommodate them. That's not an issue though. Unlike the video, I routed out for the vise before I attached it to the box. It was much easier, and I don't have the freehand skills Casey does. All in all, it's a project well worth the time and effort to complete it.
Thank you very much for the review Mark! I appreciate all of your information. In retrospect, I think I would have added threaded inserts and bolts to hold the top on. It’s a more secure way to align and lock everything down. When you change out the top, just remove the inserts and use them on the new piece. I also should have done the vice locations before finishing but it was a last minute idea. The track bolts and the torsion box was also a last minute “what do I do now” moment. Thanks for all the support and for building this plan!
This table is absolutely gorgeous!! It is sturdy, functional and full of clever design elements. One serious flaw however, is that it is MUCH too beautiful to actual use as you might do something to cause a blemish in the table! Great job designing, building and narrating.
Haha! Thanks John! It is a beaut and she has been through a lot and still looks and works perfect. The top is a little rough from some large glue ups but it is still flat and smooth and takes abuse really well. Thanks
Thank you! Yeah the angle worked out nicely with butting up to my table saw and also , I can sit there and work on the computer or small hand projects. Perfect area for modeling etc. Take care!
Great looking out feed//project table. Now after some 1,300+ comments and probably just as many projects run across the top of your table, what would you change/adapt/modify/delete,etc.? Thanks for creating a video that is just as professional looking as your wood working skills!
Thanks Michael! The only thing I would change would be to build it at 4 x 8 as some larger projects that I have build recently have exceeded the footprint. Also, I would build out the edges more so I can get clamps on it cleanly. That’s about it! Thanks
Very nice. The only thing I didn't like is screwing the casters into the end grain of the wood but that's easy enough to alter. Looks really nice and thanks to Kreg, you have lots of goodies!
Impeccable work...It's videos like this that really make me appreciate youtube, and great craftsmen like yourself! thanks for some great ideas..I am going to build a dumbed down version of this table for a general use work bench, shelf in the middle in lieu of drawers . Thinking of dropping in an MFT top into the final work surface along with the kreg clamp tracks should make for a great table.
This is really great and I just subscribed to your channel. I have a large shop and just retired and now looking for some building projects like this and I am new to the building but now have all the time in the world to do it lol.. thanks for your help.
Really terrific build. I am still trying to figure out how to organize my 20'x20' garage into a workshop. I have some previously built portable tables, but have always been on the look out for something with versatility and be durable for the long haul.
Sure is pretty. I built a Ron Paulk modified workbench without plans and muddled my way through it. Only problem is that I didn't split it to be mobile so I added wheels on the side so I could move it around my backyard when I needed to take it out of the shed and use it. Maybe one day I can make one as nice as yours. I am 69 and running out of time to do it so I guess I need to work fast. This was my first major project. Jig sawing the side holes for the tool bay was an interesting challenge but after I watched more video like yours I think I know what to do. Time to make a jig.
For those who are going to build this, I'd make one suggestion. Kreg does make a "construction" grade series. The screws are a little beefier. I'm sure their standard grade would be adequate, but I like to over-engineer, just in case. Anyway, Kreg recommends them for construction grade lumber projects, and they work beautifully. Great design on this project.
Thanks for this video. I've been looking to make a bench to replace my wobbly sawhorses and plywood top for a while. This is pretty much perfect for me because I love Kreg tools as well. Also thanks for making the plans for free on your website with a step by step instruction guide. This will make it really easy for me to follow along on my shop computer. I'm going to start on this next weekend! :)
Thank you very much and good luck! Feel free to ask me questions if you hit any snags. Also, please rate and review the project on plans website! That means a lot to me and helps me to know that everything is relayed to everyone clearly. Thanks and take care. Have fun!

The 90° pockethole clamps? Yes and yes they will make any pockethole joinery project easier. If you do any plywood work, check out the Kreg corner clamps as well. Those are really nice.
@@CReevesMakes Actually I dont have any kind of these tools , but as long as I watch any videos that contained this brand, absolutely I wud say , *they make this job easily* .. indeed
I use kreg too and you can’t beat the products!! Nice build!!!
Great build!
Thank you very much! Love your videos and your torsion bench build! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That is truly a stunning and very versatile work table. Well done!
Thanks Col45t! 👍🏻👍🏻
Brought to you by Kreg.
This is my second look as I plan my garage. I like the Kreg sidetrack for the clamps and will use that.
Looks better in person...I know :) excellent video.
Ha! Thanks Chris! Next time, we will have more time and we can have a couple drinks and a few more stories....maybe a Live? 👍🏻
CReeves Makes a live?!?! Hmmmmmm...I could be down for that.
This one is the best on youtube. Great for diy, looks like pro. Awesome job man!
Thanks for watching abs thank you very much!
Thanks
It looks amazing contrast , now I have a very good idea what to do for my personal workbench in home thanks for sharing
Thank you very much! Good luck in your builds!
new drinking game, Everytime he says Kreg, take a swig
I wonder if I should take a drink while doing the voice-over every time I say Kreg. That would be entertaining by the end!
CReeves Makes, lol that would make your video even better. nice work btw. to bad you couldn't get the black melamine top in half inch. the bevel edge adds a nice dimension tho. enjoy your awesome table!!
Nice job. Table looks great. Picked up some great ideas from watching the video. Thanks for the time you took to make it.
Thank you very much Angela! I am glad you liked it and got something out of it. 👍🏻
This thing is sturdy as hell. I've sold a ton of these.
So you make these benches for other people? Why wouldn't they make them for themselves?
@@Belg1970 Gifts, starter benches. Thanks for your grumpy skepticism! :)
@@jesuspectre9883 Wow GRUMPY?? just asked a question.
@@Belg1970 Thanks, Santa Claus! Have a good one! :)
How much do you get for one of the benches that you build?
AWESOME renovating my work shop with expansion in late august. I will be building this out feed table for sure love it .
Awesome Roger! Cant wait to see it done! 👍🏻👍🏻
i just saw a 14 minute commercial for kreg 😕
Funny how they sponsored the video...isnt it?
AWESOME video & high end pool table, I mean workbench LOL. In all honesty what a functional piece of art, not to mention showing how versatile and useful Kreg systems are.
From a seasoned 🇬🇧 carpenter. You got some great skills brother! Subbed and looking forward to your next videos!? 👊👊
Thanks Silver Fox! I appreciate that! More to come for sure!
really nice looking and functional work bench. Thanks for sharing casey.
Thanks Matthew! I appreciate that!

if you didn't get it - this was a kreg marketing promo - also MICROJIG! hahaha
Nice project man, but honestly if you didn't receive any money and/or free tools from kreg be sure to mention that in the video. Otherwise it's a nice project which you put a lot of work into but really is just an infomercial.
LOL, Yeah, I was joking with another subscriber about making it into a drinking game.
I did mention at the end that the video was sponsored by Kreg. I will definitely say it in the beginning for the next video. Thank you for the input and feedback. - Casey
Excellent results, well thought out and very LEAN design. Thanks for sharing!! Jack
Thanks I appreciate that!
Very cool build , Kreg has a great product line , looking forward to watching more of your videos
Thank you guys! I really like Kregs fixturing capabilities. Thanks for watching!
You'd think that if Kreg sponsored this video, you could at least mention them once or twice lol
I love the fact you and your wife help each other during this build 💕💕💕 hope she is well !
Thanks! We have a lot of fun building together! Thanks 🙏🏻 we are doing as good as we can!
Longest Kreg advertisement ever.
I also feel that it is extremely important to "Pay it Forward" or "Keep the Trades Alive"
in other words, help the younger or next generation learn what we tradesman know by teaching those who truly want to learn. And then it's their responsibility to pass it on to the next Gen. ....
Супер!!! ЛаиК!!!
I wish I had the money this guy wastes on Kreg screws.
Ha! when your video is sponsored, you dont have to pay for the screws.
Nice job. I like the work surface and how you mount the tracking system, very creative!
Thanks Jim!
Thanks
Great job. I like how you put a angle on one side.
Thanks! I actually sit there with my chair if I dont have my table saw butted up to it. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! Yeah the angle worked out nicely with butting up to my table saw and also , I can sit there and work on the computer or small hand projects. Perfect area for modeling etc. Take care!
Awesome project! What a great looking and useful bench. Nicely done!
Thank you very much!! I appreciate that! 👍🏻
You made a wonderful bench! I hope that one day I will be good enough to make a bench like this! Beautiful job!
Thanks and good luck! Take your time and have some fun! All in due time!

I'm in Brazil and I saw your video, Perfect. Success to all.
Excellent! Thank you very much! 👍🏻
Fantastic bench.. Adding drawer liners was a Smart touch!
Thank you Jeff! They definitely help keep things in place when rolling it around! 👍🏻
Excellent work - love the workmanship
Thank you very much! Learning every day!
Great job Casey! Love the design.
Thank you Bob! I appreciate that! It took long enough to think of how I wanted it. Definitely fun to build!
Thanks Robert, the casters have held up well since I built it. You can easily adapt outboard style or other externally face mounted styles. 👍🏻👍🏻
I got to say your out feed table is beautiful. Nice work.
Thank you very much Chris! Its almost too nice to work on!
Nice work... as a finish carpenter, luv the attention to details
Thank you very much John! 👍🏻👍🏻
Really something to be proud of! Great work, Brother!
Thanks Danimal! I used it today and it’s still beastly.
Thanks Danimal! I used it today and it’s still beastly.
A great workbench, it give my new ideas for my workbench. Thankyou 🏆
Impeccable work...It's videos like this that really make me appreciate youtube, and great craftsmen like yourself! thanks for some great ideas..I am going to build a dumbed down version of this table for a general use work bench, shelf in the middle in lieu of drawers . Thinking of dropping in an MFT top into the final work surface along with the kreg clamp tracks should make for
a great table.
Thank you very much! It was a lot of work to produce but the end result has been phenomenal. Thank you and good luck with your build!
One more question i forgot to ask...Why did you not feel the need to add dog holes to this table?
I couldn’t bring myself to drill them yet. I figured that if I need them down the road, then I would drill them. 👍🏻
Really liked both the video editing/quality and the table design. Nice job!
Thank you Terry! I appreciate the comment.
Awesome looking table.
AWESOME setup! Thanks for sharing and it helped me visualize what I would like in my next workbench build. Keep the sawdust flyin' :)
This is really great and I just subscribed to your channel. I have a large shop and just retired and now looking for some building projects like this and I am new to the building but now have all the time in the world to do it lol.. thanks for your help.
Congrats on your retirement! Have fun in your new adventure! 👍🏻👍🏻
Really terrific build. I am still trying to figure out how to organize my 20'x20' garage into a workshop. I have some previously built portable tables, but have always been on the look out for something with versatility and be durable for the long haul.
Thanks! I am in the same boat! Smallish garage space shared with care and bikes etc. Fully mobile is my choice!
What a great looking bench! Thanks for the video
Thanks for watching!!!
Great build and even better video production! Great watch. Thank you.
Thanks Frank!
I like it! Very well thought out design, and it looks very good.
Thanks! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for sharing the information Derek! 👍🏻👍🏻
Derek Smalls I’d lean to the Simpson screws just cuz I over engineer sometimes. 👍
That is a fantastic design! GREAT JOB!
Thank you very much David! 👍🏻👍🏻
Excellent work. I like the black top, looks real good.
Thank you very much Daniel! I really like it too...pain to keep clean, but I love it. 👍🏻
Very nice Job Casey. . . . keep doing this please. . . .. 👍👍👍
Thanks Miguel! Working on another build now! Stay tuned! 👍🏻👍🏻
Have fun!
