I don't think the Camaro weight is accurate my 20 LT1 V8 weighs 3580 pounds according to the title and recently had it weighed with similar results with only a 30 pound variation
Yeah. The fifth gens weigh about 3,8xx hundred pounds due to the frame using mostly steel. These sixth gens use more aluminum and if I remember correctly they're -200 over the fifth gen. The Sixth gen ZL1 is a sub 4,000 pound car too
In this video, it is stated that the horsepower specs are brake horsepower(bhp). Now it's my understanding that bhp is power rated at the wheels. And being a 2021 LT1 owner, the horsepower rating IS in fact 455 hp and 455 lb ft of torque. So, it's my belief that the quoted hp in this video is wrong.
With a light tune and some mods that q60 will destroy that Camaro. There a lot of q60 lightly modded putting hellcats to shame. I have a Q60 red sport I changed my heat exchangers with some bolt ons. Tuned by admin the car moves a lot

@@oemj7147 Yes. That's why I said a Stingray. Stingray 0-60 = about 3.8 seconds. A Stage 3 Q60 (what I described above) does 0-60 in 3.5-3.8 seconds. Therefore, a Corvette Stingray has a *chance* at winning.

They have raced them stock for stock The Camaro put 2 cars on the new z. And it was a 1LE package SS which is slower then then the llighter LT1 in this video.
I don't understand why every video with the RedSport is always an AWD model? The AWD is heavier and slower than the RWD model, plus the Camaro is RWD, should have used the RWD RedSport. Damn, that Camaro is slooooow off the line, 55 more HP than the Infiniti and it takes the whole track to catch up. I love the Infiniti, it's so beautiful (not in that gray color) and fast as hell yet comfortable and tame when you just wanna cruise. I have a 2017 and it's the best car I've ever owned by far.
Great race. Little lighter, more hp and a good deal more tq. Results as expected. Something I've noticed with these newer v8 pony cars, they're really not showing up to the race until about the mid mark. They're low end isn't real impressive, but their high mid to top end is where they're really putting in work. Probably these new 10spd transmissions maybe?
It's a combination of the engine and a very good AWD system. The VR30 is more responsive and has power further down than the LT1. Once the Camaro gets into its ideal rev range then it can leverage its superior power, particularly with its more advanced transmission. You can see the Q jump ahead a few feet against the Camaro from a roll because of this, despite less peak horsepower, more weight, and an AWD system that isn't helping it in that particular situation. Of course, AWD is a big advantage on street tires with these horsepower levels as well, but that only tells part of the story. After 30 (for these cars), there's not much use for the AWD system and now it's just dead weight (the system in the Q will actually disengage the front wheels to reduce drag if it's not needed after a certain speed) and the Camaro actually starts to get an advantage of being RWD. Granted, that's just in drag racing, you can get advantages from AWD coming out of any hard turn on a road course.
So far it hasnt done great in testing since it still comes with a shitty differential and traction control. Im sure with a few mods it can do well but off the lot, its eh
@@shad3128 I know. It's a huge downgrade from the premium Z which seems like the only trim level people want to test. I've seen very few test with the Base. It'd be nice to see it exposed more against cars people might cross shop.

The camaro LT1 trim isn't a great comparison either, as this is the cheapest trim with 6.2L v8. Biggest issue, the 245 tires all around, the SS trim the rear tires are 275. Even larger(305 rear) with 1LE track pack, which would put the as test price very similar to the Q60.
As it sits, the camaro LT1 trim saves over $10k vs the Q60.

I drive the exact same LT1 Camaro. What kind of tires are on it? I still have factory run flats and they have zero traction when hitting the accelerator. You can see the tires on the Camaro spinning at launch.
How are you launching the Q60? Brake tourque? Or just slamming the pedal down
2500 RPM brake boost, which, factually doesn't build boost at all, only engine torque. Tune apparently can address that.
You gotta have the guy in the 2022 LT1 use the launch mode.
He used Launch Control on the digs. The rolls is where he could have done better, using the paddles to get to the optimal rpm.
These are the only Canada viseos I can sometimes watch.
The Sixth gen ZL1 is a sub 4,000 pound car too
My son weighed his 2022 LT1 with the 10sp and no sunroof and it came in @ 3619lbs.
The Chevy passed him like he was standing still.
The V8 is true engine and the true sound forever.

Traction AKA all wheel drive is big time important for anything 1/4mile or less.
Only so much 2 rear tires can do from a dig
That and they are RWD so the grip off the line isn't as good as an AWD.
Not really about the engine, just RWD vs AWD. If the Infinity didn't have AWD it would have gotten smoked off the line as well.
Forced induction will always make more power down low. Doesnt really have to do with the awd or rwd.

Got to love that Chevy value! It's hard to beat even if the Camaro would have been beaten, in a time when the working-class will not be able to afford performance. Chevy needs to stick to their guns and find a way to keep the Camaro in production
