Calling it now! Seeing John's style I think it makes sense to go dark PPF first to not only see what it looks like first, but its good content. Ultimately, I think he'll just paint it entirely black. I vote paint match too, but curious to see how dark PPF would look.
Prior to watching I’d say leave it, but after seeing it on the car, I have to agree with you. But then again I don’t like any of the stuff he esthetically did with the GTS… we’ll just have to see
I've been watching your videos ever since you had the f30 328i. Love your content man! There hasn't been one build on this channel that isn't jaw dropping. Please keep up the awesome content. You inspire us all to keep pursing our dreams! May God bless.
Coming together quite well! Love it bro. One thing I’d recommend is adding hood pins. I ran a similar hood from Seibon on my M3 E92 and quickly realized it needed some more support due to it being so lightweight. I can DM you some photos on IG on how mine came out. Looked amazing!
Love my seibon on the f32. Leave it exposed would be my vote. Might want to remove one hood shock (pretty sure my instructions said that). Also, I have two factory hood latch and added push button hood pins all the way to the outer edge. Interested to see how yours holds up with just the single locking latch.
did you have any hood shake before the pins? I really dont want to pin a paint matched CF hood... But i track at 180mph in my F32 and 160 occassionally on street, thinking about adding an under hood steel cable...
I think you should see how nit looks once on car and then try the ppf like you said. I typically sent like full carbon hood but that one is nice and your car is black inwas considering same thingbon my 335
If your doing your own work then a 135i is fine, I enjoy the challenge personally. (High maintenance at first till you replace with quality) If you don’t work on cars, or havn’t got the space/tools ect, then a 340i Is perfect, B58. Great engine, easy to make 500hp, maintenance are light and mods/tunes are getting improved every day. Especially with sharing the Toyota supra engine…
Should have gone with Nelson Racing Wheel and got a hood that is actually strong. All the seibon hoods I have seen in person are flimsy. Good video tho.
C’mon man! You gota leave it carbon.. You paid the carbon tax, it looks fire, like you said black on carbon… I think I’m gona have to follow… Damn your spending all my money too, unsubscribed haha… 😂

Thanks bro
Definitely recommend aerocatch hood latches when running an aftermarket carbon hood
You can get the carbon fiber roof and csl style carbon trunk as well then it would fit better without paint match :)

Agreed - I was going to ask if it's risky not running hood pins
This car is coming out soooo clean! Great choice on everything so far. The hood just leveled it up!
By FAR, best BMW hood design look, EVER
darker ppf will make it looks sick.
u blown my my mind with thus build
Looks clean Jon, awesome work!
Thanks man!
@@ThicWhips Are you coming to beers and gears tmw? I knew I saw you exit in the gts last time
Yessor
Seibon is expensive for a reason that fitment being perfect is why. ☝🏽

Paint everything but the power dome and vents
Fade from black to carbon towards the power dome. 😍
Man I wish I knew a shop I could trust to do this. The ones I e spoken with don’t seem confident
I’m converting e88 where I can get this hood shipped to uk? Thanks . Car looks wicked
How are you going to stop wind from getting under the hood and making it come up
The same way your oem hood does. Factory latching system
@@ThicWhips I have the same hood at high speeds that factory latch won’t hold and it will come up you’re going to need hood latch
I think I’ll be fine. We shall see
Paint it so it shows the lines better! You won’t get the “I could bite it” look unless it’s all black👍
Looks amazing 👏🏻
So nice hood! As you said it reminds me of E9x M3 and it’s so cool 🙂🤘🏻
Yessir!
Dark PPF it's different and smart
They recommend not to use the hood shocks cause it might put too much pressure on the hood n crack it. What do u think of that?
Use old hood shocks that are worn already
Run it with just the clear ppf. In my opinion
A carbon hood would look nice on my beemer
I think you should see how nit looks once on car and then try the ppf like you said. I typically sent like full carbon hood but that one is nice and your car is black inwas considering same thingbon my 335
Yeah we will see!
I’ve been debating in either getting a f30 340 or a 135i but I still don’t know which one to go for. Any recommendations?

Is that an E92 M3 hood? Looks like it would fit.
Definitely agree . You should run it exposed

fitment specs?
Leave Only the Powerdome carbon!!
paint match for sure!
Hey John do you think you will need hood locks because I’m about to go with one,and I was told that I need them?
Yeah that’s what others are saying, I’m going to do my research but I really don’t want to run latches lol
@@ThicWhips that’s how I feel fam hey are you doing beers and gears tomorrow. We have some guys coming up from Atlanta tomorrow going
Yeah I’ll be there bro!
They make good stuff 👍🏻
Fantastic ❤❤❤
Love it!
tinted PPF for sure
I’ll see!
I've had good luck with their carbon hoods, trunk lids not so much lol
Yeah I hear trunks are a mightmare
@@ThicWhips yeah they love to crack on the left corner and then spread ALL the way across 😭 that's all brands though
are you going to tint the car?
I just removed the tint
Dont paint it! You should definitely have a dark ppf
Paint match! 🗣️
Black PPF wrap, my $.02 .
Darkened ppf, to see what it looks like. Leaving it all exposed is to ricey 😅
Whole hood exposed
