Minecraft Mob Guide - Evoker and Vex - In-Depth Tutorial (Mob Guide 2.0)

A Minecraft Boss Mob, or almost one at least, is the Evoker. The Minecraft Evoker and his Vex summons are deadly adversaries to say the least. You can find the Evoker in Woodland Mansions, and as a mob in Hard Mode village Raids one Wave 5, 6, and 7. On Wave 7, they spawn riding a Ravager as well, be sure to check out the Ravager Mob Guide if you haven't already!
In this video, we look at the stats of the Evoker and his Vex, and what are effective strategies to combat them.

TIP FOR FIGHTING EVOKERS I find that if you can chase them down and keep close to them they try to run away to summon vexes keep on them and kill them quick you could probably do this with wooden or stone tools

I haven’t played Minecraft since the glory days of the open beta, like when I was in middle school on PC. And today(I’m 22 now) I re-downloaded it and started a world on survival and I was amazed and horrified of these things. I could stop say “OH GOD WHAT? HOW?” I definitely died like twice before killing one in a raid.

Just traveled 7000 blocks to find a mansion and this guy just killed me im mad
I hate the Vex. They can quickly bash you around if you stumble close to an Evoker. I learned quickly to set up a safe bed nearby with an enderchest when taking on mansion. Its also a good idea to take your elyta on your quickbar so you wear your chest armour and then bash a wall down to switch and fly away when an Evoker summons all the Vexs.

never fight a lvl 5 raid on hard with just diamond armor its realy bad me and my friend had prot 4 armor and died multiple times to vex cause they have enchanted swords most of them have sharpness if you die once alone doing a raid its hard to get your items back cause vex do 7 hearts if you dont have armor on
dude i just completed my first raid on hard with my brother and that shit was the hardest shit we've ever done, we made the mistake of not enchanting armor and swords then starting it, we died a lot but managed to get our items back, we just got lucky. i wish i watched this vid before doing it but i accidentally started the raid walking in my villager farm
I died with full armor they all got me I had 30 xp 😭
I wish multishot was upgradable to be in a star pattern. The multi shot crossbow acts as a shotgun, and shotguns are generally preferred for hunting flying creatures because of increased hit probability.

I didn t kill evoker, just runaway, now i can t get near woodland mansion, vexes constantly spawning.. is there some kind of coldown or this will be untill i kill evoker?

Post 1.9 update, the axes deal more damage than swords, but they are slower compared to the swords.
The damage stats are there. Wooden and Golden axes deal 7 damage, same as a Diamond Sword. Stone axes all the way up to Diamond Axes all do 9 damage per hit. Between Stone and Diamond axes, the only improvements are in durability and attack speed. Swords have them beat in both of those regards, as Axes will lose 2 durability for every hit rather than 1.
Swords may deal less damage per hit, but do more damage per second. A Stone Axe deals 7.2 DPS compared to a Stone Sword's 8 DPS, and a Diamond Axe has 9.0 DPS (attacks once per second for 9 damage literally), whereas a Diamond Sword does 11.2 Damage per second. Therefore in my guides, when hits are scarce and hard to land, I recommend Axes, such as against Skeletons and Ravagers where you spend a lot of time shielding instead of constantly attacking.
That said, Axes really do less damage in Bedrock Edition. My statistics are for Java Edition.

@@poggy205 Actually in bedrock edition swords are more powerful because axes in bedrock doesn't have like that cooldown not like in bedrock edition :)
