word of advice for anyone making a village in bedrock edition, be careful when making a underground village because when you win a raid they celebrate with fire works and due to the low ceiling they all kill themselves with the fireworks, dont be as dumb as me
Speaking of funnel, try making a wall with a small inlet area. Raiders will circle the village trying to get as close to the center as they can. When they find the inlet, even if it's fully walled off, they will tend to stay there. It makes finding/killing them a lot easier, even if you don't make a pit trap or something.
@@baitornot4697 Well... I've been playing since beta but not a single day of that have I ever given a crap about the lives of villagers. I could've known cus I knew the trapdoor trick from the oldschool goldfarms, but never even considered using it on a village cus fuckem :') So technically I didn't know.
In medieval times most castles had a moat, most of us are familiar with the water filled moat but actually a lot of them where dry moats where very thorny plants and bushes where allowed or even encouraged to grow. Even when being a dry moat being lower in the land those moats usually where a bit muddy so the plants where green and thus hard to burn. Apart from being very uncomfortable things like chainmail really liked to get stuck in the bushes, and when people are firing arrows and crossbow bolts at you it’s gonna be a very bad time… In Minecraft you can re-create that with those berries that hurt. Mobs usually don’t want to cross them. Trapdoors also give you the opportunity to make a sort of drawbridge. In my castle i have a m*rderhole(yes that’s how they are called) above my doorway, and if something not nice is standing outside i can (apart from shooting at them or dropping things on them) just open up those trapdoors so mobs can’t approach the door or regret standing in front of my door. What surprises are underneath the trapdoor is up to you. When digging moats u usually end up with a lot of dirt so I really like to basically raise the land inside the castle(sort of like a Motte and Bailey castle) at a certain height mobs don’t even notice you anymore.

If you place the beds right and have them all manned by villagers than the raiders should never spawn within the walls. I can't link the wiki else youtube will delete the comment, but go there and see the exact calculations. In a nutshell minecraft defines a village border based on the location of claimed beds, and since the raiders will always spawn a certain number of blocks outside a village border, they should never spawn within the walls if you do everything right.

You only need one villager for a raid to spawn, so a bell isn't needed. However a bell still is nice to have since if you ring it you can see where nearby raid mobs are.

The build looks great. What's annoying about Minecraft is that it doesn't matter how big you build a wall as long as it's at least a block and a half tall. This makes raids super easy to cheese. Other games solve this problem by allowing enemies to destroy walls and player-built structures. Recently, I've been playing the game Valheim which also has raids. The enemies in these raids are able to destroy structures. Trolls are the most destructive early game. Of course, there are ways to cheese raids completely, but it still puts more stress on base defense. I think Minecraft can learn a lot from Valheim (and vice versa). IMO the perfect survival sandbox game would be a mash-up of both games. Valheim is a very fun game. Would love to see you try it out. I will say it doesn't have the same flexibility with building as Minecraft.
Valheim is easier to build nice looking structures, especially at actual player character scale, something Minecraft really struggle with. However, in Valheim on survival, the best and most functional building with the most options is locked behind many dozens if not hundreds of hours of gameplay. I very much agree that the best possible survival game is probably predominantly a cross between Minecraft and Valheim.
@CartoonHangout it would suck to lose a base you worked hard on. However, if you spent the time to set up defenses beforehand, it would be avoidable (as long as those defenses don't fail). In order for raids to be meaningful, enemies need a way to get to the player regardless of obstacles. The easiest solution is for enemies to damage and destroy those obstacles.

It would actually be more protected if it was located on the highest point on the island. Fortresses are usually built high up. Also it’d be safer if the whole of the walls were made of stone because if they’re made of wood, the pillagers, vindicators and evokers can just burn it down. Also the main gate should be a bit more protected as the pillagers can see into the village and shoot into it.
The best to do would be, to 2 layers, one on top and other at the beaches of island and then build three brigdes to concetrate pillagers in chokepoints

Arrows can't go through trap doors. I use them on any fortress or castle type build. Also any kind of wall around any village will help a ton to keep hostile mobs out, as well as just lighting up the area.
I remember I tried to make one of these back when 1.14 dropped. The villagers would set of fire works in their houses and kill themselves. Luckily I did this in creative mode
You're already the second UA-camr where I can see those more realistic movements of villagers and pillagers (arms, head, eyes etc.). Because I really like this modification, I would like to ask which mod or resource pack do I need to achieve the same in my worlds? :)
That’s so inspiring to start a raid proof village . ❤ Fresh animation is like the default for every Minecraft video now. Mojang should add it into the game I guess❤
this was helpful in the way of designing a type of raid farm! Raid farms the majority of players make are way too expensive and way to complicated. This one is the best and easiest! Thanks for confirming my idea for how to protect a village from raids without having to get involved if i dont wat to, and for confirming that this could verry well be a raid farm in itself CHEEP AND EASY should i choose to get involved.
What about building ianxofours instant raid farm? Not stacking raid farm, the instant one! It's a very simple build :) make sure it's not a stacking one, that's more complicated. The stacking one means you get infinite raids, the instant one just lets you easily kill one raid.
I feel like most of us especially when the pillagers were new to us, accidentally triggered a raid and just dipped 😂 it's like accidentally batting a baseball through someone's window, you panic and just run.
Loved the video @ItsMarloe! Can't wait for the next video man! I would've just Stuck to using Oak Planks instead of the Trapdoors since I was wondering wether or not that would actually happen (Pillagers getting stuck on the Trapdoors). Roads that are about 7 Blocks Wide, Town Squares that are 23 Blocks by 23 Blocks, Water Fountains that are 5 Blocks by 5 Blocks and About 2 Blocks Tall, Brick Factories, Different Colored Houses, Train Stations, Tracks and Railway Yards and the Odd Set of Trench Lines, Gun Nests and Bunkers...... Yeah, Miniature Tabletop Wargamer turned Vanilla and Modded Minecrafter LMAO! Barbed Wire made with Nether Brick Fences, Cobwebs and either Cactus or Sweet Berry Bushes; Trench Lines made by Digging down 3 Blocks at best, Lining the Bottom with Dark Oak and Spruce Slabs and Campfires and the sides with Spruce Planks (3 Blocks wide) and a Ladder along the Top 2 Blocks all while Following the Contours of the World Generation. Recommended Mods for the Most Immersive Experience are.... • The Create Mod (Build up a Proper Infrastructure like Powerplants, Factories Ect.) • Valkyrien Skies, Valkyrien Skies: Eureka, Valkyrien Skies: Clockwork and Valkyrien Skies: Tournament Mods (Add Physics to Minecraft so that you can Build Ships, Aircraft, Tanks and other Vehicles and Equipment). • Recruit Villagers Mod (Updated to 1.20 Minecraft, Recruit Villagers to become your own Personal Army. Swordsman, Shieldsman, Spearman, Cavalry, Archers and Crossbowmen can be Hired from Job Site blocks purchased from Journeyman Level (Level 2 or Gold Badge) Fletchers, Armorers and Toolsmiths (I think, The guys with the Eye patch on them) and all you need is One Block and the Unemployed and/or Nitwit Villagers will keep coming to the Blocks. So even if one villager recruit has claimed the block, more recruits can also claim it and you don't have to worry about Buying a bunch of Them or the Recruits losing their jobs if the block is destroyed. They'll level up as they gain Experience, Use whatever you give them like Armor, Tools, Food and Potions even Totems of Undying. Caravans will have more Experienced Recruits as well as some Villagers with them and Pillagers have gotten a Slight Upgrade to not be too Overpowered by your Army. There's even a Function for when you're on a Multiplayer Server where you can Set up Teams similar to Factions, so if you wanted to Play "Hearts of Iron Ore" but you don't have Flans Mod since that's only now for 1.12.2 and 1.15.2 Minecraft, you can do this instead). • Simple Planes Mod (Updated to 1.20 Minecraft, Build Planes and Helicopters in Minecraft using Propellers and Planks. They'll take on the Texture of whatever wood type you use on them. Furnace Engines will use fuel like Coal or Charcoal while Electric Engines need to be Recharged using Forge Energy from supportive mods like Mechanism. Add Armor and Floats to your Planes and Helicopters to increase their Health and Allow for use on the water. Right click with Dispensers and give them Arrows, Firework Rockets or Fire Charges to Shoot. Add TNT Blocks to Drop from the Large Plane and Helicopters as well as Supply Chests and add extra Seats to hold up to 5 Passengers in the Large Plane. Parachutes are available and can be used when worn as armor like a chestplate). Villager Workers is under Development currently for 1.19 Minecraft while Create Big Cannons is still under Development in 1.12.2 Minecraft. Villager Workers is made by Talhanation (who also made Recruit Villagers and Small Ships) and is Similar to Recruit Villagers. Noxus has a video about this on his Channel if you want to check it out. Create Big Cannons allows the Players to built actual Cannons in Minecraft with the Create Mod. Since it's still in Development, there aren't any Crafting Recipes for most of what's in the mod. For every 3 Barrels you'll need a Single Powder Charge and the Shell does more Damage than a Bed in the Nether or the End. You can check it out on the Dev's (Beeg Yosh) own UA-cam Channel. Let me know what you think about this and I'll catch you in your next video man! Maybe we might get you see you trying out some of these Mods as well!
That villager he said to that they are willing to move was just like "NO- oh I dont got a choice do I...?"... he's been through a similar situation before XD
The best way to defend of raid without losing any villagers is to simply wait till night so everyone will be at home, block their doors with blocks and that's it,the only way for them to die is evokers's vexes because they can fly through solid blocks like they don't even exist but it happens so rarely
1:45 "I'll break down the fence gate because it's a little unfair." If my village were raided I would hope to have automatic turrets, let alone a fence gate.
Well this certainly is much nicer. My villagers usually end up inside a cobblestone box with a glass roof, beds in the style of military barracks, and the doors ARE the internal walls 😂
As soon as raids became available I became addicted to them. Silent was not even dreaming about making farms for them yet and I personally never used one, mainly because my brain is too lazy to dedicate itself to understand the mechanics and perform all the steps but also because I am too adventurous for my own sake so I needed the thrill. So yes, I made some stacks of emerald blocks on those pillagers back along with some double chests of totems and I wish saddles could be used at least for fuel, man... omG. I heavily relied on tipped arrows since I also just recently have discovered them and that in bedrock you could use 3 potions to make a whole stack of arrows by submerging them in a cauldron. The village was a Farm house of sorts that I kinda copied from Andyisyoda but I made it a lot larger and it was at the moment housing around 40 villagers so the amount of golems inside was good but the spawned mostly inside the walls, still a great aid if a wave of pillagers somehow spawned or managed to get inside. There was a river to the left where it was a lot easier to kill ravagers from bellow the water or simply from a far since they can not swim fast enough, the same actually goes for any pillager variant but specially ravagers and vindicators that are solely melee. The wall to the right was inside a desert biome though, so whenever they came from that side I used arrows or slowness level II and damage to kill them faster otherwise bad news for me. After each raid I started trading like crazy until I was out of resources such as paper, coal, strings, crops. Down the line I didn't have anywhere or anything to spend my emeralds on so I copied Avomance's sugar cane farm for a third time in that world and decorated the part behind the glass blocks with some emeralds. Nowadays, whenever I try to call and fight a raid it lags my game like crazy. Nothing works properly anymore. Same computer though, Idk what happened.

I wish that Minecraft had vanilla turrets that weren't strictly fgor under water. If they could make it so that the conduit could target hostile mobs in air blocks, that'd be amazing.
We have built a very big one house contains all the useful villagers an covered it with very good looking walls. We had looting on sword and infinity on bow so we could use the looting bow! That was very easy to defend the villagers from top of the walls. We can get very good loots while having fun and not building a farm!
I would honestly love to see a city for a village with wood walls, something like a nomad village not fortress though I do doubt myself this will ever happen anytime soon sadly
I like building the walls from Leaf blocks. At first yiu can defend with no issue, but then you get the ravagers who make new entrances for the raiding illgers. Its fun
you can use a shield to block a ravager's charge, doing so will stun it for a few seconds, in the meantime hit it with an axe(try giving critical hits) which will give him a good amount of damage, but as soon as he gets up again run to make distance from him and keep repeating so until he is finished. Also, blocking a Ravager's charge will disable your shield for sometime.

Put water on each corner (or wherever you need it) inside the holes and make sure it doesn't go into the deepr (Farm) part, that helps out a ton
Speaking of funnel, try making a wall with a small inlet area. Raiders will circle the village trying to get as close to the center as they can. Arrows can't go through trap doors. I use them on any fortress or castle type build. Also any kind of wall around any village will help a ton to keep hostile mobs out, as well as just lighting up the area.
Blacksmith: Oh no, not this guy again.
This gave me the idea to make my base a small village. Great video.
I remember I tried to make one of these back when 1.14 dropped. The villagers would set of fire works in their houses and kill themselves. Luckily I did this in creative mode
Just a wood fence a good distance from the village is all you need to keep the raid out.
For the paranoid, a three tall wall is more than enough.
You're already the second UA-camr where I can see those more realistic movements of villagers and pillagers (arms, head, eyes etc.). Because I really like this modification, I would like to ask which mod or resource pack do I need to achieve the same in my worlds? :)
Fresh animations resource pack, it needs optifine to work btw
Fresh Animations!
That’s so inspiring to start a raid proof village . ❤
Fresh animation is like the default for every Minecraft video now.
You have to get involved in this type of "raid farm" unless you plan on making a ton of irom golems which is expensive 😆

The left tower almost made me cry
Mojang should do a kool update where the villagers defend themselves and or attack the pillagers with unique weapons and ride on the iron golems
I feel like most of us especially when the pillagers were new to us, accidentally triggered a raid and just dipped 😂 it's like accidentally batting a baseball through someone's window, you panic and just run.
I have built all of your custom village houses! I was wondering shoud i build a defence, and you uploaded a video for it! Thank you so much!
I absolutely love this I haven’t played Minecraft in awhile
Your a great builder. Love the village and castle like wall.
"First things first, we need a wall"
my friend, luke the notable would be proud
"So first, we need a wall....... and the illagers are gonna pay for it!"
Loved the video @ItsMarloe! Can't wait for the next video man! I would've just Stuck to using Oak Planks instead of the Trapdoors since I was wondering wether or not that would actually happen (Pillagers getting stuck on the Trapdoors).
I tend to make my Villages, Towns and Cities almost like Something from the Second World War.
• The Create Mod (Build up a Proper Infrastructure like Powerplants, Factories Ect.)
• Valkyrien Skies, Valkyrien Skies: Eureka, Valkyrien Skies: Clockwork and Valkyrien Skies: Tournament Mods (Add Physics to Minecraft so that you can Build Ships, Aircraft, Tanks and other Vehicles and Equipment).
Would you consider doing a wall tutorial? It looks dope and would love to incorporate something like it into my future builds/play through
Logs, stairs, and trap doors… literally look at it… it’s easy
This video doesnt deserve 1,2 millions
It deserves 15 millions
That villager he said to that they are willing to move was just like "NO- oh I dont got a choice do I...?"... he's been through a similar situation before XD
The best way to defend of raid without losing any villagers is to simply wait till night so everyone will be at home, block their doors with blocks and that's it,the only way for them to die is evokers's vexes because they can fly through solid blocks like they don't even exist but it happens so rarely
Minecraft: Attack on Titan edition
1:45 "I'll break down the fence gate because it's a little unfair."
If my village were raided I would hope to have automatic turrets, let alone a fence gate.
There's always next time. You can take out the trap doors and put in fence. And then you'll Have to guard the gate
13:51 that is too funny
Love your builds Marlow
Most of the your builds are in my server
Thank you so much for the videos
I am Greatful for it
And also most importantly
I love those lines
"Hello Everybodyyyy !"
Me too ❤
This story method was a lot of fun.
I want to see more videos from you in this style
day 3 asking to make a tutorial of the village
What do u mean?

Marloe: arrives at a villager looking for a villager to move
Also Marloe: I've already asked, they are happy to do so aren't you please don't run away yes you cannot wait to move
Weaponsmith: Huh? Oh are you kidding me..
Wow this is so nostalgic me and my friend used to play together and in our world and we built our own village just like this one to do raids in
This was really enjoyable!! You do great stuff! I subbed 😁 Would love to see more
Gives me Attack On Titan vibes ❤
I wish that Minecraft had vanilla turrets that weren't strictly fgor under water. If they could make it so that the conduit could target hostile mobs in air blocks, that'd be amazing.
8:33 I think the cartographer wants a kiss.....
This was NOT textbook villager ethnic cleansing. This will NOT go down in villager history as the trail of tears.
clash of cla- *This is a Certified Clash of Clans Moment* .
I like building the walls from Leaf blocks.
At first yiu can defend with no issue, but then you get the ravagers who make new entrances for the raiding illgers. Its fun
5:42 They heard that.
Underrated comment ❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💀💀
you can use a shield to block a ravager's charge, doing so will stun it for a few seconds, in the meantime hit it with an axe(try giving critical hits) which will give him a good amount of damage, but as soon as he gets up again run to make distance from him and keep repeating so until he is finished. Also, blocking a Ravager's charge will disable your shield for sometime.
10:53 Dude perfectly guessed which direction he was facing- The sun was setting, meaning he was actually facing north lmao
13:22 How was there a pillager head
I have a data pack for mob heads :)
@@ItsMarloe ohk nice
@@ItsMarloe wait how was there a mob head with no charged creeper XD
That Blacksmith looked so fed up with you XD
Is this a mod or are villagers this cool nowadays? I want my villagers to have this sort of animation.
That’s a resource pack called Fresh Animations :)
"Man I wish there was a way to protect my villagers from raids." -chieftain Charles Castle, shortly before inventing Castles
8:43 How does he have hero of the village before the raid started?
If I remember correctly I forgot to get a clip of the inside so had to get it after the video was done :)
@@ItsMarloe thanks for replying btw good video
This is an awesome build. I’m gonna put this style of wall around my survival base!
I can’t get over how short your builds are, it just doesn’t look right
Wow! love this video, and learning so much about it, thank you!
Would you mind doing another video just like this one but it improved from where your mistakes were made like trap doors?
