I love the shape of the pond-much better than the tub would have been. Your covered deck is fantastic
That’s why I chose that. Haha and it’s also dad’s muck bath. (A bath that is used to put concrete in it) so I prefer it to. ☺️☺️

great job on the pond and on the decking area Freddie, plenty people forget to turn their mics on after they have been speaking for 4 or 5 mins, some people have even made a ful video then realised the mic wasnt turned on 😂😂. I would put some sort of ramp into your pond for the likes of hedgehogs to get down for a drink or if they fall in they have a way out of the water. Great video Freddie

Excellent. I did a small pond 6 years ago. 3 years ago i made it double the size, this year i made it even bigger, so 2.2m wide, 4.2m long 1.2 m to 600mm deep. Frogs toads and newts every year, plus Dragonfly. So enjoyable to watch. Only 30 fish, but its relaxing 😌

I love your little porch/deck on your shed! It will be nicer with the dirt and mud! The little pond will be nice to attract the bees and other pollinators.. I have little bowls with rocks in them so that the bees can land and get a drink

Tidy job there freddie. Probably a bit late now but if you can find some frog spawn and get it in there with some plants the frogs will return every year to spawn. They will eat the slugs for you.
My neighbour has an old pond which is abandoned so I’m going to hope there is some there that I can use. Haha
Put old blankets, towels or such below the pond liner. Felt liners are good, but cost. It stops any sharp bits popping through.
Well my brother re done it for me and he dug it deeper as well as he lined the inside with a membrane just made to do that. Haha thanks

Hi Freddie, really enjoy your channel and the enthusiasm you have for the allotment. Not sure if anyone has mentioned but in researching for my own pond it seems fish are not too good for a wildlife pond. I think they produce a lot of poo which in turn feeds algae etc, but they maybe also eat spawn and larvae of various insects? Obviously you do get fish in the wild so it may be over cautious but just thought I'd share what I had read :) hope your frogs turn up soon!
Yes, I do eventually want to get some. I’ve ordered a pump and filter for the pond to keep clean at the minute. If I can put all the pond plants in there at the minute and the water stays clean I may just think about it.

Your pond is a lovely addition to your garden, bravo. My question is, are you reducing your access to the garden plot on the right side of the pond? Also, can you lay layers of cardboard underneath the new pond lining to maybe reduce any risk of stones coming through? Just wondering.
I got my brother to buy a membrane underneath it to stop punctures again. Haha and also that’s not my plot so I should not really be walking on it. Haha I don’t come down from that area anyways and that was never used as an entrance. ☺️

Well my Dad is a builder himself and he does all loft conversions and side extensions and ect. So he built it and the glass is just left over from a job! I love my big window! ☺️
