      @@cupidok2768 I got an adapter you can put on your sink and there is a switch that allows normal water through or puts it into the filter. But it is annoying as there is a tube on the sink all the time :'D
      But i guess if you know tools etc you can also hook up a T piece to your filter. The good thing about my approach is, i can release the pressure when I don't use it.

    I like this a lot and my sink is like yours. What is the kit you used?

    Does the original faucet still have water, I’m assuming it does. Is there a bypass ‘leg’ or hose that directs water to the regular spout/faucet? Very impressive install.

      Yes. You can see the Tee fitting on the cold water shutoff valve on the left side of the storage tank. The valve flows into the Tee which sends water to the faucet and the RO filter array at the same time.

    Nice, John the plumber. I that all one "kit" or did you have to buy separate parts?

    • @JohnWelkener
      @JohnWelkener  3 роки тому +1

      You can buy it all as a kit, or as separate parts as needed. Our house had the full kit already, then the school district sent us replacement filters since the river water in our village is full of sediment. You can find this exact kit online as a Whirlpool WHER25.

    so Im pretty sure that one you call green, is yellow! Green would be the color of the top of you washing liquid on your countertop .
    This is likely the most unusable comment I have ever left on a youtube post. But hey! why not

    • @mannys9130

      You may need glasses, or you may be colorblind. There is a green line in the background which is the feedwater to the system which comes directly off the shutoff supply valve.

    Reverse osmosis needs minerals to be reintroduced.

    • @dxublexxsplicitxxsplicit4943
      @dxublexxsplicitxxsplicit4943 Рік тому +15

      "Needs" no it doesn't NEED anything. Yes it's just water woth no minerals but you don't NEED to put glorified baking soda in your water. I assure you that you consume enough sodium throughout the day you wouldn't even notice

      Just add a pinch of himalayan pink salt in a glass of water.
      Fyi if you dont want to waste water build a holding tank for your water waste so that you can use it to water your plant, wash your dishes or use it for your toilet.
      Here's what i did to save waste water. Oh, i added permeate pump. It will cut waste water in half vs without it and it also add pressure to your system. No need for the booster pump.

      Adding some Celtic or Himalayan salt will add back the minerals you need. Also some osmosis filtrating systems have a filter which adds back minerals after purifying the water

      You get your minerals from the food you eat. A healthy diet of vegetables, fruit, and legumes provide more minerals than your body needs. And like others said salt or sodium, Potassium, and other salts are very high in today’s foods and diets.

    • @mauriciogonzalez6302
      @mauriciogonzalez6302 9 місяців тому +3

      @@neftalisalazar2352 correct. But when your water is void of minerals, it must take them from somewhere else in order to balance out. This is known as the principle of diffusion in biology.
