I have to wonder about watch channel operators who buy Rolex steel sports, then turn around and continue to feature value watches, micro brands, non investment pieces etc. that are sponsored reviews. I think a watch channel has to figure out if they are either a value watch channel or a luxury watch channel and go from that stance. The only watch channels that feature value watches and luxury watches both and does a good job are, Austin Daniels and John McManus watch reviews. Both of these channels explain what is really going on and don't leave their viewers confused...
Thanks for the review. It sound fair and square. If spinacker sent me this watch, I'd wear it for a month or so. But not everyday, more like only on Mondays. And not during days, only at night.
Yeah no.. I have OCD and Cali dials certainly not for me! :D I don't like the paint lines on the display case back either, cheapens the watch IMO. Instead they should decorate the movement a little, even a nice sticker on the rotor is better. Next to that beautiful Rolex the Spinnaker looked really cheap! Thanks for video review!
To characterize this as a dive watch is a stretch imho. No timing bezel, not a diver. I have a PVD Hull with a fumee dial, which I think looks fantastic, and I wear it in my rotation (once every couple of weeks). You can keep that Cali dial. Just doesn't look right. Destroys the symmetry of the dial. I do like that strap you bought. I'll have to check that out. Wearing a Spinnaker Spence with the brass PVD, green dial on a green perlon right now.
They should have used the sapphire crystal they use on the Bradners. It appears domed but it’s not. If they put an actual domed sapphire crystal on this watch, it would be over $300 for sure.
Another great review, but I don't like that "California" dial. It looks odd to me. I don't think I've ever seen one like that before, actually. I like the rough-looking surface, though.
The case is kind of cool, but I just really dislike California dials. Don’t care for the straps at all. I might be a little biased because I am not a fan of Spinnaker watches. Most of them, I’m not sure why I dislike, but this one it is definitely the California dial that turns me off! Thanks Oleg!
Hi Oleg. how are you? it seems like Spinnaker is slowly but surely finding their own identity. that is a good thing. personally I like this watch, even though it has some other big brand's flavor, but it has enough of its own that it works! but as you said, sapphire glass would have been ideal. Also, I think that crown is just too small for the watch and if possible, little engraving on the crown would have helped. generally good looking watch. Thanks Oleg for the review. good day to you.
@@danilomeola4474 ha ha ha. I was being sarcastically nice. Yes, it is a homage to Panerai, but still Spinnaker is integrating some of their own style which is good to see. thanks for comment, Danilo
Take a look at a review of Advisor AstoHelm (I did a while back) with a similar design and double domed sapphire crystal. You can see a clear difference in the look.
24Hours At A Time ah ok, so you meant that if it had a double domed crystal and not a conceded one then it would potentially look better. Gotcha. How does it being made of sapphire matter?
He man! Thanks for this awesome review. I like all your reviews. I just bought the Hull tactical (grey, beadblasted version). Which color would you choose if you had the choice?
The dial is a funny old mishmash which in theory I ought to dislike but in practice don't. The texture gives it a bit of extra pizazz, and the crystal doesn't bother me either way. What is pretty objectionable is the caseback, and the movement is no beauty queen so why they didn't just put a solid one on beats me. Anyway, a moderately enthusiastic thumbs up for a slightly non-conformist option here.
Mineral Crystal is supposed to prevent scratches but can chip or shatter easily, Sapphire is the opposite better for shattering but scratches easily that's why Invicta has the best in the Flame Fusion as this is the combination of both crystals, a patented product for Invicta. As far as this watch is concerned it looks like everything else boring and dull. On a good note I subscribed to your chanel because I do enjoy your videos
Spinaker generaly not my cap of tea, and same for this watch. Price is higher than it should be for this brand, this watch, no saphire.. P.s. Appreciate Bond at begging of vid, he is sweetie :)
A waiting list for a Spinnaker watch? 🙄 This is one of the issues when these microbrands send these free watches to everyman and his dog (literally in some cases) to review. There was a number of these reviews around few weeks ago and clearly some people like it. Personally would have waited for this review till they were back in stock, for the people who want it. Unless it's part of the contract to receive free watch you have to review with certain time
Still honeymooning with the Explorer. I love that perfectly simple design. I hate pretty much everything about that Spinnaker. I've never liked the design dissonance of a California dial. On top of that, this one has added fussy texture to the dial face and fake aging to the indicator coloring which to me is just not attractive. And it's just too big. That Panerai-style cushion case is not doing it any favors, and there's no reason for it to be that thick either. And why have a screw down crown with only 100m WR? It's a hard pass from me on this one.

Hull california or the updated Bradner? Which do you think is better quality? Better crystal and lume?

The design is a homage to Panerai vintage diver watches that's why I refer to it as a diver style watch.
I like this watch, the dial is very cool.
Thanks for the review.
Btw your dog is amazing!!
Thank brother!
What about the Invicta review?
a perfect watches for those humble, modest or in low profile people such as doctor, teacher, artist, politician...or me.

This one of those videos where I want to dislike just because I dislike this timepiece. Still liked it though 👍🏻

Fair enough! California dials aren't for everyone. They don't do much for me personally.

Thanks Alex! Seems like the design of this watch has been divisive.
How would a domed sapphire look better than the convex sapphire hardened mineral crystal?
It wouldn't . .
Ah, so then other than it not having quick release spring bars then this watch is perfect?
@@OPMDK If the watch was perfect, it wouldn't be sent around to UA-cam channels for free.

The California dial always looks to me like it was designed by a committee that couldn’t agree on what they wanted. 🤨
😂😂😂
nice i do like but puts me off a bit no Sapphire for the price...
I would get it in blue and iff they did a 38mm version!

I always appreciate your reviews. But I really cannot find anything to like about the watch.
How about the strap?
@@andrei-cosmin.popa85 I suppose I could live with it.,,,,,, ,
Why the rubbish printing on the movement's see through crystal? It's in all Spinnaker watches!
They figured it's cheaper to pay kindergarten children for the design stages.

It goes with the teratorry where the channels spruik the free stuff, while they go out and buy Rolex steel sports.
