I enjoyed your video on these watches! I preferred the original one until I saw the lume on the new one. I love the contrast of the new one. The only thing I don't care for is how big it looks. It looks bigger than a 42mm. I do like it though. The strap of your wife's watch looks better also. Great video.
I have the older Hull in green which I love, it keeps really good time. These watches are very good value. Nice review comparing old with the updated model.
Got mine today and I am totally frustrated. Looks in reality much smaller, more like a 40mm watch on my 6,8“ wrist. Lume lasts the whole night? 😂 In fact round about 1 hour max. When I saw the vid I was dealing with the idea to buy the limited PVD Hull as well, but decided immediately after unboxing to buy no spinnaker watches again in any way.
The positives for me are the asphalt looking dial and the railroad track and the lume, the negative for me is the split between the Roman numerals and the Arabic numbers, (I don’t get it) I would have gone with the Arabic numbers, sort of like Ball meets Panerai.
Then it wouldn't be a "California" dial, but I get what you're saying - though I just received the blue version and it's absolutely stunning and I for one actually really like the split between Roman and Arabic.
Hey, OFD, can you hit that sapphire coated mineral with your hardness detector? I’ve been wondering what they register and if maybe Thales are really what the Chinese are using on brands like Cadisen and Guanqin.
I just bought the Spinnaker Croft 5058-04. My new favorite watch by a long shot. It looks even better in person.
