Having MHFU as my first monster hunter game, i suffered a lot trying to learn the mechanics of the games and the wacky hit boxes didn't really help my case either.😂
Same here, i can tell you are a good player in every game, with time you get good and you understand that, i am like that too.. Mhfu was our training i still play it to this day, started a new save, already completed granny finna go to neko cat 👍
3rd: Better graphics, better gameplay, but less content Freedom Unite: slightly worse graphics, masochism simulator and clanky gameplay, but a ton of content to make you suffer for more hours
0:20 I just realised how much I have been conditioned by Unite's shitty hitboxes, I would have instinctively rolled there before sheathing my GS otherwise the khezu's landing would register as a hit on me just like this guy 😅.
Freedom unite has the contents, Portable 3rd has the improvements, both games can be fun and pain in the ass sometimes but freedom unite definitely ain't for me 💀
FU forces you to be defensive and observant by deploying torture methods every seconds that you're breathing, P3rd lets you goof around before reasonably slapping you across the face gracefully
Honestly, Gen 3 is when Monster Hunter got good imo. I can still enjoy gen 2, and even 1, but they can be an absolute slog. Gen 3 (and 4) have that perfect blend of deliberate clunkiness, and QOL that actually makes them enjoyable to play.
@@Keyring7031 yeah it's clear that Gen 3 and 4 is where the series truly start to shine. It's where the game starts to become deeper both mechanically and gameplay-wise. While FU maybe harder, P3rd has more improvements that makes it objectively better, it's also where the series starts to get creative with the monster designs, behavior, patterns, and variety. I love FU monsters but it's unfortunately really lacking in terms of variety, most monsters share the exact same patterns, wyverns are basically just dinosaur heads slap on top of a dragon's body, and all they do is just walk around doing nothing. Gen 3 and 4 is such a breath of fresh air and creativity for the series

The Game of Mhfu was alot fun but still best game and challenging alot, Every Monster can literally Oneshot you In Higher Ranks & G Rank and even your defense couldn't protect you Anything all you had do to is skills and be careful about monster moveset, since they get alot way faster.

World is bullsht and needed op tools to make it playable and rise is just goofy, they srent heavy. I just installed MHFU on my PS Vita just for fun and out of nostalgia. I can't believe how hooked I got. I must have spent like 12 hours on it already just in the last two days. While it frustrates me a lot and I want to go back to World and Sunbreak, I just can't put it down. It just brings back too many good memories even though the game design sucks by today standards
I came from 1st gen in MH1 and MHG to 2nd gen in MH2 DOS and finally to MHFU, and this is the best 2nd gen Monster Hunter With all of the feature and contents it have... I really love to play this game now... Playing with people is really fun...
1368 is not even the highest attack. Not considering the multiplier from sharpness and any buffs, the highest damage is 1664. For Hammers and Hunting Horns, Attack Up Large from food gives +26 attack, Attack Up Large from Armor Skills gives +104, Powercharm gives +31, Powertalon gives +46, Power Pill gives +130; with the hidden decimals, that's +338 attack solely from attack buffs. On the highest damage weapon, that's 2002 attack. This damage can be further increased by sharpness, critical hits, other skills, possible debuffs on enemies (sleep or enraged) and part specific resistances. The effective damage is much higher.
"Why MHFU is so difficult". Number of obvious reasons and monsters like Teostra are one of them. If you don't have Power/Mega Juices then expect to run out of stamina, get obliterated to 45% health by his blasted instacharge at High/G-Rank (also just a single hit). And the hitboxes aren't helping either. A friend of mine described it nicely, "Just do everything perfectly from start to finish bro: The Game."

My first monster hunter game was the original monster hunter on ps2... I hated it lol then a few of my friends got monster hunter freedom/portable i got into it and I've been a fan of the Series ever since :) Freedom unite was one of our favourites too
I'm telling you I had no idea how I even got to the point of defeating Akantor when I was 12. 😂 I remember helping my big brother with his flagship Nargacuga and the final hit was done by his bomber cat Terrorist(his name)
i don't like exhausted mode , and also tigy and narga wich are iconic monsters from freedom unite, turn into clown in p3 but the other side, i love p3 graphic, deviljho hunting was fun and metal rath are crazy. alatreon are fun too. so.. its 7/10 from my opinions
If you have played mhfu first, then Narga and Tiggy in mhp3rd are really easy. But if you're a new player they're still challenging. Tigrex could've gotten a new move other than the spin-dash forward move, you literally just have to do nothing as staying close avoids it
Extend MHP3RD to Ultimate and it would be better and harder than FU. Freedom Unite is easy if you are aware of the hitboxes. Comparing the High Ranks of both games, I would consider MHP3RD to be harder. Just imagine MHP3RD with G-rank, with Fatalis being added instead of Miralis since you cannot Dive and swim into the waters unlike in Tri Ult.
Monster Hunter Portable 3rd was an uncompleted game. Maybe Capcom saw no point to update the game. Especially with so much piracy happening on PSP. And focus more on MH Tri
P3rd came after tri. Cause capcom went nintendo leaving a chasm on psp. Also everyone was waiting monhun on vita so i could sell like hotpocket. P3rd didn t sell that well in japan. Too bad. Mh3u on 3ds was the best finish iteration.

It’s not “hard” so much as it is janky as all hell. Same with Gen 1. They’re pretty easy when you really get down to it, but they’re such a slog that they feel difficult to get through.

I hate everything about mhfu except for the fight, its hilariously slow compared to later gen yet it forced me to stay vigilant all the time. Its simple, no gimmick, just careful positioning, turn based and not being greedy. Other than that? One word, tedious. Farm, gathering, monster farming, how you need to come back to your house Everytime you wanna eat something even in HUB, everything feels tedious. LUCKILY, i played on emulator, so fast forward is a thing, theyre not that tedious anymore, so im fine with that. I dont think i gonna play it past 5 hours if i played it on original psp, must've been gruesome experience, but its mainly because ive been spoiled by later gen qol like mhgu and gen 5 mh.
I’m from the old gen a tip if ever reconsider playing mhfu is always prepare before fights and take your time you will lose no matter what if you are not well prepared I always carry 10 mega potions and 10 honey with 10 potions, 1 trap and 1 trap tool and whatever material I need to make a trap, tainted meat (if the monster eats meat), bombs etc you gotta use your items because you will always be in trouble no matter what. New gen is far more forgiving I never felt like I had to prepare it was more a matter of do I want to make an easy long fight into an easy short fight. One thing I miss is the pose you strike every time you drink something I wish they kept it.
@@Japolonga you need to prepare in new gen too, i doubt you didnt bring any pots or max pot in new gen bruh. Its not like you need to bring traps and meat in old gen too, they're optional, and i never bothered to bring them, unless i fight deviljho or try to capture monster since i play solo. Yes i solo 2nd-5th game all the way into end game, there are many things that changed over the time but preparation is still pretty much the same. Even in god eater you need to prepare shit before going out.
