    Hi
    This car was brought to me as a non runner...
    On a first scan, I noticed that I could not communicate with the DDE (Engine ECU)...
    Follow me on this video to find out why was that, and how I fixed it!

    I have exactly the same fault with a 2008 320d I’ve just bought, non runner. Pump running constantly, all sorts of error messages on the dash, crank but no start. No DME communication, was going to look at the ecu connection first but you’ve confirmed what I was thinking. Thank you.

    Superb video Subscribed!
    I have a e87 120d 2007 with similar issue. Car ignites but when I try to start the car I get no response, can hear the fuel pump running just like in the video but the car doesn't turn on. There's time where after 5 or 6 times of trying, the car turns on and works perfectly fine, and then there's times where the car doesn't respond at all for hours. I have replaced new battery but the issue still persists. Do you think it is an electrical issue, any faulty fuses or sensors or do you think it is the ECU?
    Please any help would be massively appreciated.

    * Please help me !!! *
    I currently have a 2008 bmw 1 series 120d E82 on 130k...
    Recently the car has been temperamental on start up when sometimes, after pressing the on/off button and the ignition coming on with the dash lights coming up... when pressing the button again to turn the engine on, the car just makes a "click" sound and wouldn't turn over... after a few trys pushing the on/off button, the engine would come on....
    One day after driving the car, I turned the car off and got out as usual... when I got back in and inserted the key, there was nothing, nothing on the dash and no ignition lights at all.. like the car was completely dead or not recognising the key?..
    But the keyfob works fine...
    locks and unlocks, boot open button works, windows go up and down normally (Not slow from a low battery) parking lights, hazards, and interior lights all work.. but I'm worried that the battery will now run flat from the car not being turned on for days, not allowing me to plug a reader in due to having no battery and the keyfob not turning the ignition on...
    The car recently had it's timing chain replaced anf injectors re-seated. I have also had the car scanned no longer than 4 weeks ago which brought up faults codes for the CAS system such as..
    • A125 - Incorrect signal from E/M
    • A0C1 - Output, terminal 50
    • A0B5 - Fault, road speed signal
    • A0B3 - Starter motor, terminal 50
    • A0AF - Processor
    • A11E - ELV fault
    • A0AA - Control unit fault
    • A0B2 - Supply, terminal 30E/30L
    I've been so puzzled and trying to figure out what to replace first...
    Here are my options so far from researching forums in Google and watching various UA-cam videos.....
    • Check ignition and other fuses under dash
    • Replace Battery and have coded in
    • Replace Battery terminal
    • Replace starter motor
    • Maybe look at replacing the Alternator..?
    • Replace and have coded in a whole ECU kit including modules, keyfob and keyfob reader

    • @LMAutoRepairs
      @LMAutoRepairs  2 роки тому

      Hi

    Esses BMs já não é o 1º que apanhas com a ECU mergulhada em água. Deve ser problema crítico dessa carroçaria de BM. Os escoadores entopem e a água não escoa. Ainda por cima aí na Inglaterra chove mais do que faz sol por isso é complicado. Essas boards ainda por cima são multilayer e as camadas do meio se um gajo não tiver esquema está praticamente tramado da vida. Gostei muito da tua solução que na verdade é a única mantendo a ECU original do carro. Caso contrário só uma ECU nova e depois é aquela seca de programar VINs e funções específicas do modelo do carro e do carro em particular. Enfim. Uma carga de trabalhos. Fica bem e continuação de bom trabalho. Abraço dos Olivais em Lisboa.

    Hi Mate, I salute you for your great initiative and patience applied in resolving this issue. You are a STAR. You just diagnosed and explained a replica of my BMW 1 series 118d coupe manual diesel - Crank no Start! This happened over two weeks ago, and yesterday, I had to open the ECU unit and discovered a water log at the bottom, and eventually water had gone into the panel thereby causing it to stop communication. I ordered another ECU from eBay yesterday and it will arrive tomorrow. Though it has to be cloned. But If I'd seen this video before now, I would have taken the chance to do the same. Maybe mine could just possibly need to be cleaned with spirit and allowed to dry. You are just a genius! RESPECT👍

    Great job
    I recently bought a slightly accident damaged BMW 120d E87 2007 same model like the one you fixed. I replaced BST terminal after its fuse blew during the accident and now its just cranking and not running, engine management light not showing on the dashboard, i dont hear a fuel tank pump running when on, checked all fuses not even 1 burnt.
    What next, could it be the same problem as tht one?

    Hi mate! Awesome video, I have a e90 m47 320D with the similar issue, no comunication with the DDE, but the car is crank and Start, but dont have power I think is from the turbo. In some moments, the fault is resolt and the DDE have comunicated, and the power return. ISTA dont read the Ecu, and the RPM dont move. Is this problem similar with the problem of these video? Thanks!!
